I don`t think they got me. I hardly got in and now I hope me and Elvin can make a better future for the game. I don`t know how it was before but now we are being asked for our opinion at every step. Gomaki assured me it will stay that way as long he is in charge.
Bear in mind that complete overhaul is never going to happen which is understandable but the best solution out of the current situation is on its way!
I really don`t know how to express it without spoiling anything. Elvin is more experienced in this, so please add some more info.

I don't think it's understandable, expansions are not out yet and they still could correct most things if they wanted to, but of course it would require a lot of efforts and them to admit how royally they screwed up.
natalka said: but the best solution out of the current situation is on its way!
So the best out of a bad situation then, the game might get from terribly bad to mediocre state.

It will be quite good imo. What else is there for not liking?

...so THAT'S what's wrong with Ashan! When you get down to it, everything is tightly segregated not by faction, but by elemental alignment. It's this kind of mentality that locks out the potential for ice or shadow demons in favour of constant fire and brimstone, or skybound pegasus riders from the Sylvan faction.
Heck, the names "Sylvan" and "Inferno" already seem to lock out the ideals. We didn't have those problems with "Rampart." Heck, ANYTHING could fall under "Rampart" or "Fortress"... or "Castle"... or "Tower"...
Maybe towns should just go back to being named after catch-all fortifications and other ambiguous nouns. People hear "Inferno" and immediately think of fire - so why not something different to represented extradimensional insidious forces? "Abyss", "Rift", "Void", "Pit", "Sanctum", "Altar", "Distortion"...
Anyways, apologies for the rambling tangent. A joke post ended up twisting into a rant I had to get out of my system. Thought you guys might be interested.
that's what I like about ashan. it's neat. organized.
I don't want an army of a shoe, a dog, a tomato, a chair, a car and an old lady working together. they don't make sense in the same team.
besides if the writer is competent enough anything is possible.
ice demons would be less of a stretch than a minotaur in a darkness-stealth faction.
also the staff of the lyre does not give the +8 magic.

btw I too enjoy the game but it's a real shame that the new stuff won't be implemented in campaign and that discourages me a little bit.

What was there to get? You were had since the beginning. Always cheerful and happy with the game the way it was because you were "having fun". I'm sorry, but I don't buy it. The game is not only bugridden, but flawed at a design level, and as I see it you fail to understand that. Trading you for JJ was a mistake, a move to silence the voice of reason because it was too vocal for their sensitive ears egos to handle.

But when have they really been that random?
Just because there isn't a 'main race' amongst the armies? Theme factions are the greatest! You're faction theme above seems to be items around the house taking away the grouping of mythological creatures within the theme is taking away the essence of heroes. It's certainly what got many of us hooked on this game in the first place? All the monsters and fairy tale creatures from stories, books, and movies all in one game!

Apparently Limbic takes offense in the way I related the fact that they revoked my access to what is their (and not Ubisoft's who is actually hiring the VIP guys) forum platform.
It would seem they find it important that I wished the forum goodbye, although I did so with the disclaimer that I would be out as long as the VIP thing would be the farce it was.
Which means, they feel they only did me a favor.
They also take offense in the way I talked about class with regard to them - or, more correctly, the lack of it.
You might say a thing about revoking the access of an Ubisoft-hired free-of-cost consultat to your platform without further notice, because he said he wouldn't participate anymore as long as things stayed the way they were, and wanting to debate class, but in fact I don't care about this.
The only thing I cared about two and a half years ago was how the next Heroes game would look like, and I don't think you'll find too many people who are happy with the way things - the game - turned out. If things turn out sub-optimal, most of the time there are reasons for it, but who- or whatever is "at fault", it certainly are not the VIPs, neither as a group, nor single members. However, part of the VIPs who did gave their 2 - and sometimes more - cents saw it coming. You were warned - and you were warned to the point it became offending (guilty as charged).
Killing the messenger isn't solving problems, though. Killing the opposition isn't helping neither, especially not when it turns out they are right. Arguing with them whether it was fine to kill them would seem petty and also beside the point. When you take a responsibility and things go awry, somewhere along the line mistakes were made, and I think it generally helps to admit them, stand to them and try to do better. The public is usually thankful for this behaviour - probably because it's so rare.
Stardock showed class, by the way, when they redid Elemental completely, and everyone buying that mediocre game getting Fallen Enchantress for free...
What is left is a feeling of utter disappointment with what has been a really great game series and with the way things have developed.
I'll leave it at that. Tomorrow it's old news anyway.

So now they managed to have by their side one of the only good Heroes player who actually like their abomination, Limbic you are so lucky to have her, she is additional free help for you to fix balance issues and bugs, now you can say you're working with another TOH veteran, congrats. IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT YOUR GAME IS ****. IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT IT IS THE MOST BADLY RECEIVED HEROES GAME EVER MADE. IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT YOU ARE A TOTAL DISGRACE TO THIS FRANCHISE ALONG THE CRAPWARE YOU CREATED AND THAT I FREAKING HATE YOU FOR IT.
Cepheus, Quantomas, Pitsu and all the others community legends left the VIP group in terms which seemed even more crappier than JJ did, but it is so much more comfortable to pretend you did great, maybe to stop lying to us you need to stop lying to yourselves in the first place and admit you're not fit for the job.

ohhhh lol believe me, I could tell you a couple of absolutely juicy stories on that front myself,
luckily I guess I have a bit more class and professionalism than one studio I could name which rhymes with Dimbrick, I'm not so out of my depth I'd resort to cheap blackmail of the community and lame ass subterfuge to try and get my own way lol

so it's down to personal preference yo
The problem is, we are already seeing stagnancy in faction line-ups due to the combination of racial factions without creature switches between games/time and historical Heroes tradition (think of the sort of creatures that belong to a single faction and have to appear in every installment, like Mages in Academy, Black Dragons in Dungeon, Elven Archers in Sylvan or Vampires in Necropolis).
And while you could argue that should any of the creatures that belong to the second category could create some fanfare, it is the first part that discourages any thought of seeing true variation in factions in future games compared to the previous ones.
To add a bit more into this, I don't see it as a white or black issue either. There is room for changing the alignment of creatures through the Ashan timeline, as long as logical reasons are provided. Let me use the Griffin in the old Universe as an example:
Quote: - In Heroes II, the Warlock faction had seized control of them in Enroth (Continent).
- In Heroes III we move to another continent (Antagarich), where Griffins serve under the rule of the Gryphonheart family (Castle faction).
- In Heroes IV Erathia and Enroth are no more, and in the new world of Axeoth the Griffins find freedom...and in a very logical way, the join the Preserve forces.
See, this is the kind of stuff Ashan needs. I'm not saying that every creature switch made sense in the older games, far for it, but there are examples of some that did made sense. Shaking up faction line-ups on each installment would make them more unique on each installment, and offer a different experience when playing each faction in said games.
So no, I don't agree with you on being *just* a matter of personal preference.
PS: I don't think JJ wants to draw any unnecessary attention or drama out of his situation, the way I see it he's just sharing his experience from his PoV. There's no need to add more fuel to the fire, his message and position are cristal clear.

There are many minor things which make the game worse than it could be. Also I hope AI has been much upgraded. As about skills: as mentioned before, solution only for multiplayer helps only partly.
I am glad to see you are involved in development but I am worried it is too late for many people to start to like this game.

Well, I guess, just when Ubi and Limbic stop supporting the game with patches and expansions, one could only hope the game is at least playable enough with some sense of replayability.
