I think what Hermes meant is that the Efreet was atleast recoloured while the unicorn isn't but if he had actually bothered to look he could've seen that there is a recoloured version (so reaching Ubi-niveau)and another guy named foxxer even made a basic version with more alterations(surpassing Ubi-niveau.. xD)
btw where did the picture of the efreet go? I somehow can't find it and there is none in google search xD

He's not exactly the type to confront forumers, and I don't think he cares that much either way.
Yeah, you are right.
I think you are one of the best users here and i have 1 question.
Can expansion somehow save Heroes VII?

I sincerely doubt it.
Meanwhile, I just fired up the game out of sheer curiosity and I have to say that while the menu looks more tidy and the Tales narrative is strong, I haven't felt that compelling sentiment to keep on playing. The atmosphere, even with the great music from Heroes 4, has enough Ashan in it to be off putting.

Say what you want, but the thing that Marzhin put together is x1000 better than the original necro spider screen.

I thought this was a one-man project, by Marzhin, that allowed this content to see its day. And here I also thought he was a community manager, rather than a game artist to make new models for buildings (or even creatures).

It is, that's why I don't criticize it. Ubisoft shipped it together with the patch to bulk up more content

Probably best to let it stay that way. Don't want to continue the trend of wearing spikes, heavy jewelry or any other bling.
An idea would be like a tattoo or something, though.

It's funny how several properly, I would say professionally, written snippets of text put all the Ubimoney spent on cinematics and voiced dialogue to shame.
It also makes a story not feel cheesy and forced, you just can't make dialogue work in a setting like this, it always comes off incomplete and simply wrong, nor can you do proper cinematics in-engine, using models that are not supposed to be viewed with extreme closeups (e.g. how would Ubi go about Naga attack snippet?).
I mean with the renaissance of old-school games and RPGs, I would assume people do want to read stuff if it's well-written, that they prefer clean graphics over overengineered UE3 models which don't even stand out from the background. Instead we get Ashan and budget money, spent not on refining proper gameplay, clean graphics and UI, but instead on intricate 3D models (not even enough money to animate those), voice actors etc. Now we don-t even get text for opening chests, just "Hey Bro, Xp or Gold?", not a single random encounter over an artifact, not a single dancing leprechaun. These simplifications really make me feel Ubi don't get that this is supposed to be a brainy game and not a mainstream simplify-it-all fantasy-Civ.
PS .Also, the Unity campaign clearly shows that Axeoth >>> Ashan. We have to go back (shameless LOST reference).

I wouldn't say it's about the storyline, but the delivery. I don't mind the story in any Ashan campaigns taken as a whole (e.g. is lord Lysander's or any other campaign in Heroes 4 necessarily better than Heroes 5?), but the overdesigned presentation attempt is misguided. We get expensive cutscenes which anyway look awful and limited using in-engine models, with voiced dialogue which doesn't allow anything but exposition. (Caw Caw Sveltana's raven) Text allows for much greater flexibility in world building if the game is not suited for real-time cutscenes.
Notice how Heroes 4 campaigns are usually written from the perspective of a third party and not the main hero so we get more tidbits about the world, about minor things outside of pure main story exposition. Most of the text actually comes when nothing is happening on the map, just to flesh out the world, character motivations, humanise the events happening on the strategic map. Ashan has none of that nor in Heroes 5, nor 6 nor 7. I think this is a in part why it feels so barren and lifeless.

I would say yes, because the Heroes 4 campaigns make basic logical sense lol
