Well it's easy, really. I only intended this townscreen to be a fun easter egg, nothing more. I didn't expect people to take it so seriously, especially since it only appears in one map at the end. I should have known better, I guess.
But hey, lesson learned. I won't reuse it in Lost Tale 2. Although I believe it would have been weird (weirder?) to see the "arachnopolis" in a campaign set on Axeoth.
On this campaign, I did most of the content by myself, on my free time (even the cutscenes). I did manage to obtain some budget to make a few new portraits, and of course we had to licence the H4 music tracks from Rob & Paul (which was not free). Also I'm happy we had some funds to do the Efreet (especially missing animations), although that came pretty late in the project.
But everything else, from the new buildings to the White Tigers, was just simple, basic modding. That was actually the point: one of the goals of this campaign was to show what you can do with the map editor even if you're not a programmer or an artist, just a mapmaker with some resourcefulness. It was never meant to even feel like a "DLC", just a free campaign based on an unproduced story set in the Ancient Universe. I do feel marketing made it sound bigger than it was, but that's the nature of the beast unfortunately.
Back to more important, less cosmetic things: what did you think of Terry's story?

I will have to disagree on the sound of Heroes VI and VII departement. Sound is blunt and from a point onward you just stop hearing. On the other hand, listening to Heroes IV music in the Unity campaign was much more exciting. Maybe it was the nostalgia speaking but it was much more enjoyable. I don;t even recall what the adventure map music of Heroes VII is to be honest, but i still listen to heroes IV one playing in my mind and that speaks volumes.
As for Unity, for me it is too early to speak as i only played the first map.
Also Marzhin, bring back more easter eggs if you can. Instead of Infernopolis, if you can bring back all of the old towns by reshuffling the units that are available now. It would be nice and some factions are easy to do.

Yeah, sound effects are just average at best. Many of them just sound fake, the bad kind of fake if you get me Music is a matter of taste(I have mixed feelings there, some being very good, others so-so) but the sound effects just break the immersion.
This is the least of my concerns but all the little things add up.
@Marzhin
I'm on the third map and enjoying the story

Nice to see your post here.
I think Terry's story was very good. I really liked it. Ending was kinda predictable, but otherwise it was very good.
To be honest simple textbox story was more interesting than MMH7 official campaigns.
@Marzhin
Did you already finish working on Lost Tale 2?
You have to add Thunderbird.

If there's one thing I've learned here it's that the most fitting way for heroes to tell a story it's through past-tense storytelling structure. Like someone telling the player what happened once or the player reading a logbook/diary. I find it sad that this way has been staring Ubi in the face for so long yet they never pick up on it.
Storytelling. past tense. It just works so well with the rest of the game.

I tried to youtube it but personally I can't hack it until a Heroes 4 verson is available, sorry but the whole shell around the story just doesn't capture the correct mood, too Frankenstein lol,
like having a Heroes 3 campaign starring Ashan and Queen Isabel it's too jarring and out of place for me lol

I was honestly planning on doing this, but I was gonna ask if anyone was interested first to see if it would be worth my time.
Unfortunately I cannot get past the third map because the main story quest won't trigger at the end so I cannot win lol.

not falling for that everything has been said already.
There you go:
1. Stable Heroes VII at the moment with no serious bugs
2. Port forwarding is in the game for easy multiplayer
3. Work still continue on Heroes VII with patch 1.7 released
4. Free DLC is released, another one is in the making
5. Colors have been adjusted since release, and game looks better than ever
6. Performance is good now
7. Devs listening to suggestions and implementing skill changes.
8. This is the best Heroes game for me and many others.
oh Hermes you fell for that! you'll learn... you'll learn...

So that must be why we don't get the h4 combat music or faction themes :/ but still, I love the h4 adventure music and seafare themes. I was just hooping for some of those h6 sounds, like after you win a battle, to be replaced...
But I love the story so far!

Haha, no, THEY fell for my reply lol
Marzhin,
Campaign is a lot of fun, thank you for that. ALthough I'm not exactly a fan of the old universe, the whole campaign is captivating.
By the way, do you guys have any plans to add some more heroes for Duels? There are no Fire mages at the moment, Academy has 2 magic heroes present and no might... And overall variety is poor at the moment.
Myriam is an extremely strong duel hero at the moment, I just can't seem to defeat him using Haven.

But someone should tell the marketing department that their strategy is backfiring again and again and again ... and again. It's hurting them much, much more than they seem to comprehend. The incorrect (and even misleading) PR, the grand promises, the open ended answers. It builds expectations and brings nothing but disappointment. When it comes to a Heroes game, people already have high expectations. If your post, Marzhin, was the marketing for the "DLC" it would have been much more appreciated, than trying to sell it for something it's not. The same goes for most aspects of the game. I just can't believe they still haven't learned.
Uh... That was my small venting for the day.

Same for me, I guess it's probably because there was only one game for it while the old world had multiple heroes and might and magic titles.

Heh, to me it always feels like it's the same person doing the same kind of advertising for all Ubi games without having any idea aboht what he's talking

It's already the case, actually.
Sylvan has the Wolves and White Tigers.
Dungeon has the Efreet.
I gave Griffins to Haven because they lost the Wolves, and after all at the time they are still mostly remnants of Erathia.
I haven't touched Stronghold and Academy however.
They are also a lot of smaller touches, like the faction banners being different, or the motif behind the hero artwork in the character screen.

Interesting. We will see them then!!! Although Dungeon (Chaos) could have used the orc as well. And stronghold the blade dancer instead of Berserkers. As for Academy, maybe Gold Dragon instead of Golem Dragon (Simurgh replacement). And Simurgh replacing Dragon as the Phoenix in Sylvan or even Wyvern as thunderbird
Ok, i am going too far i think
