Found (in editor) those 2 skills (just names): Gating (Inferno), Furtiveness (???)
Seems like they were preparing for more but Ubi did the cut...
I also noticed that Rob & Paul had composed in advance themes for both Fortress and Inferno (both available in the game soundtrack), and the Fortress theme ended up being used in the TbF expansion. It definitely looks as if they had initially planned at least a 2nd expansion with Inferno based on the above bits and pieces.

agree but those music has nothing to do with expansions mate,
if you are following the development those were commissioned as contingency in case the faction votes of Shady Council went the other way (bear in mind Erwin somehow legitimately believed Inferno and Dwarven factions could win, he said he was very disappointed in the fans for their super conservative "elf tendency" (when in fact he was the one who shoved the elves in the dungeon against everyone's will in the first place dontchaknow lol) lol) lol

No, the two things are actually closely related. There is a reason why Sanctuary was neither represented in the votes nor in the soundtrack. It is quite obvious that the two factions that lost in the respective votes (regardless of which factions the fans voted for) would be the ones that were destined to be added in the first expansions (I assume that some of the backbone creative/design work for all 4 factions had been already made at the point of the vote).
The Gating ability found in he game files points also to the same direction (there are also a few Sanctuary elements there, but fewer). But of course all this is speculation, I do not think that we will see another expansion for H7 (I would kill to have the 2 missing factions and all bugs removed & the game balanced, but this would require Ubilimbic to suddenly become professional - which won't happen).

As a response to antalyan from the positive thread. I'd initially posted there but then realized what thread it was and decided to move it here.
Antalyan said: Once again, with a mod adding 4 new heroes for duels per each faction, I appreciate how good duels in H7 are.
Quote: Only because you haven't played duel map or arena. H7 combat lacks actual variety and the duel mode neither allows you to select your build nor is there spell/artifact variation. So it might be acceptable for someone who doesn't know different but it's plain meh for those who do. H6 duels at least allowed you to develop your hero.
Seriously, fans have made a far superior duel mode since almost 10 years back and ubi keeps rehashing the same obsolete duel version that we first saw in H5. Not a single improvement, even a step back from H6. Only goes to show that the addition of duels is an afterthought. As.. a lot of other things.

H7 duels let you test different builds at least (with the new mod) and compare factions against each other. It's also perfect for people who don't have much time, as well as for hotseat playing with friends who come to play this game only once per long time.
I admit I could imagine much better system than the current one but I like it thanks to the reasons above. I prefer to choose my hero build in my own way but it gives people with less experience pretty tough work to choose something if they don't now what each particular skill/effect does. Also it's a time consuming process to build your hero and to choose your skills, so one of the biggest advantages of duels is over with that.
What's the duel mod you speak about and for which game is it?

H5 and H6 short custom maps, though don't know if arena was remade for H6. Basically short map where in the span of one day, you level up through sphinx, buy artifacts, learn spells and then you are ready for a fight. Army strength and hero level varies according to the map and each game has the potential of being completely different even if the same factions are selected.
And sure duels are fun but that's nothing new, they have been in every ubi game. The shoddy work they have put into H7 duel mode is just lamentable. There are so many potential variables (such as hero level, army strength, amount of artifacts, spell availability, unit growth variation etc etc) that could have been incorporated into the mode that make the end result look like a hack job.
Of course there was no point in making anything remotely ambitious with the game being an unplayable mess half a year after the release so there is that.

It was remade for H6, but the dueling scene was so small, EVERYONE deleted it after playing like a dozen matches, and no-one bothers recreating it now, because H6 plain sucks. I do have a few duels uploaded to youtube, if you guys wanna see how it went.

I saw the Warcraft movie at home with friends last night. It felt like watching "Ashan: The Movie" ^_^
Not that I'm complaining or anything (I dig both the Warcraft universe and Ashan), there is just an insane amount of crossover between the two (and it was very evident in the movie, which thankfully lacks the trademark cartoony figures of the games). At some point they showed the hovering wizard city (Dalaran in the Warcraft universe), and my first thoughts were: why the heck is an Academy city in a Warcraft movie? Everything looked the same: architecture, spires, concept. I wonder who came up with this specific imagery (wizard city on floating rocks with oriental architecture) first, as it is too specific to be a mere "coincidence". Here is the still from the scene I am talking about:

Usually, fantasy worlds inspire each other (nowadays, almost each "true" fantasy uses Tolkien's races for example), so I see no issue in mixing Wow & M&M a bit.
Btw. Have you seen this on CH?

Week of Ubisoft
A week where everything is more expensive and nothing works properly
Week of Preordering Ubisoft Products
You pay for upgraded units, but don’t get your units or artifacts right away. They will appear in your inventory next week – as unupgraded units. Since this week is really for the fools, just leave the creatures in your castle generator and you’ll be able to hire them normally next week. IE wait a week to pay for, and get, upgraded units.
Week of Trump
A week where if you build walls around your town, your opponent will pay for it
Week of Putin
Attack +12 to all small green units (eg Troglodytes, Hunters). If your army consists only of small green units, AI will ignore you when you enter AI’s area of control.
Week of Racism
All units and spells do double damage to black and brown coloured units (eg Black Dragon, Legionnaires)
Week of Black Lives Matter
If your units kill any dark coloured units on an unprovoked attack (rather than via retaliation), game sound changes to BOO!
Week of Merkel
All garrisons and barriers are disabled for the week. All guarding armies permit you to pass and grab artifacts or claim mines.
Week of Political Correctness
All Dwarven units are renamed Vertically Challenged. Black Dragon is now the African American Dragon. Black Guards are now Melanin-Enhanced Guards.
Week of the Industrialist
All Sylvan units do half damage; Druid thorns and Entangle last only for 1 round. Sawmills double production.
Week of the Tree Huggers
All Sylvan units deal double damage. However, no sawmills operate during this week.
Week of Chinese Quality
War Machines can be bought for 10% the normal price. However, their stats and HP in battle are totally randomized downwards. Sometimes a damage of 1 will destroy your war machine. Sometimes War Machine just breaks down and vanishes from the battlefield. (Note there is already a Ubisoft bug that helps you do that).
Week of the Suicide Bomber
One stack, selected as the Bomber, can detonate itself in the middle of a battle dealing 2x its hp in damage to all adjacent units and 1x its hp to all units within 2 squares. The enemy never knows which unit you have designated as the Suicide Bomber.
Week of George Soros
Marketplace Exchange rates vary a lot within the same day; just check back later if you don’t like the current rates.
Week of the Tsunami
Tsunamis interrupt all battles taking place on seaside terrain
Week of Somalia
Sea Elf Pirates do 2x damage
Week of Food poisoning
Half your troops disappear from the battlefield due to diarrhoea; they come back after the battle. (Note that this effect already takes place often and is called a bug. Ubisoft still hasn’t solved it from v1.0 to v2.1 so we might as well accept that food poisoning is a realistic aspect of living in Ashan in pre-sterilization times. Maybe the bugs fell into the combat rations meant for your troops...)

Dalaran was in WC3, but it was not floating. The floating one in the movie is retcon (yuck ).

And then you finally guessed, I hope, why I say that even if Ashan is not "as bad" as people make it here, it still is mediocre. It is a deliberate effort to erase whatever was unique within the old continuity and a conscious, continuous bold march toward the feel of "seen that already".
While in some instances it served a purpose to give to some faction a more distinct and unique feel (stronghold, necropolis and inferno)* in general it is just a scrupolous work to remove whatever dissonance with the common perception of high-fantasy in the popular culture (=Warcraft).
*(take notice though, that I'm not among the majority when I say they did a good artistic improvement with these three factions)
Rampart/AvLee, Academy/Bracada and Dungeon/Nighon being the main victims of this highly questionable narrative policy and Fortress/Tatalia being straight-on cancelled.

It was since WC1 or 2 but it didnt get unique aesthetics till 3, however in those games it was in the ground. In the movie it looks more like a floating arabian city than dalaran though

Wow you are actually right. I also looked up all available Dalaran images and none (of the old ones) are as Academy-esque as the one in the film.
So... Erwan copied Warcraft and then Warcraft copied Erwan?

The only thing I guessed is that you are incredibly biased
I like my Ashan setting very much, but thanks for sharing your opinion. Nothing is a "deliberate" effort to erase something, just a different universe that the new game publisher felt they had to establish (which is of course a valid approach: New series of games, new universe).
Now if you like one or the other is up to personal taste. I personally like both - each one for different reasons.

It is marketing approach, and a bad one IMHO, taking away what made the uniqueness of the previous games H1-2-3-4 has been done within a process neglecting the soul and spirit of the product. See the difference between Axeoth and Enroth, the spirit is the same, you can't know how much I wanted to see the original nwc's concept for what is now Sylvan for h5, with the Catelf and the Lionman, why not keep Tracy Iwata, he was a genius! They should have tried to do their best to hire the most of original employees to ensure an awesome continuation of the series, it is like changing musicians in a lineup, it changes many things, even when they play the same song. It is, in business, a risk to change the universe, and Warcraft looks incredibly better in that style, so Ashan looks like lazy ripoff.
But to be honest, is ****ing up the mechanics, for this kind of game, that was a commercial suicide.
Quote: Now if you like one or the other is up to personal taste. I personally like both - each one for different reasons.
Great for you, if you want to share with us what it is you find so great about Ashan be my guest in the lore thread.
