*Sigh*
Once again, why on Earth would you PAY for spells (or MAGIC skills)?
I mean, I see that working, if it was in competition with another player. But in this case it would be in competition with your own hero. I mean, why bother with a Magic hero at all, if
a) a Might hero will better support troops with primary stats
b) gets a ton of useful might skills for free
c) is under no pressure to acquire magic or a skill - except that they do have power and knowledge and CAN "buy", if everything is right?
Conversely, if playing Magic - can you really afford to let the weeks pass by, NOT buying, because nothing great comes around?
People, that's not offering an alternative way of "heroing" - waiting for the "spell market" to offer the right stuff? That's not playing, it's being played.

@jollyjoker I wasn't saying to cancel magic guild. I was saying the "market of mystique" as additional source for spells since in magic guild you will get that 3+3+2+1 spells or however they will make it in h7. Instead of being stuck with only those 3+3+2+1 from that town you can buy additional ones also that would rotate. Otherwise the only other way to get more spells is to get new town and hope for best or adventure map buildings that might offer spells.
And paying for the magic skill was optional in my version, you could still get it at level up just like before, but buying it saves you from randomness and also you get extra skill without leveling up at the resource-cost.
As for magic schools I already explained how it would work in general. For academy I understood all magic schools will be available so they would get highest chance for their element(I presume air or prime) and medium chance for the rest.
Edit:
PS I did have alternative version for magic, but it just feels too simple and giving magic heroes easier time:
Have magic-skills as just general "Magic skill" on level-up and there you pick which one you get. Afterward you will have the chosen school as skill as before h6 and if you need another you will pick the "magic skill" on level up again if it appears.
Alternatively you could cut that down to smaller pieces like "rare magic skill", "common magic skill" based on your race, but it might look at bit dum on the screen

Do I really have to repeat myself?
Quote: Why bother with a Magic hero at all, if
a) a Might hero will better support troops with primary stats
b) gets a ton of useful might skills for free
c) is under no pressure to acquire magic or a skill - except that they do have power and knowledge and CAN "buy", if everything is right?
I mean, "optional payment" is all nice and well - but why even take the chance HAVING to? On one hand you have the Might guy, all primary battle stats, boosting creatures, having high probabilities for all that useful might skills with useful abilities - plus the extra chance, if luck willing, to get nice spell support.
On the other hand you have that bungling idiot of a magic guy who must somehow align his primary skill strength with secondary skills and spells, and if he's not that lucky, but also not completely unlucky they may buy stuff. Tough choice.
What do you think, why factions in HoMM 5 featured exactly ONE hero type, tailor-made for their racial and stats and mage guild and not two or even three?

who's to say it wouldn't be in competition with another player? maybe buying spell would lock out that spell for all other players for a month or so....

a.) would realy he be better support? have you seen what skills/spells will be in the game and how much they would be effective?
b.)who says he gets a ton of usefull might skills? why not like in H3 where you don't get any?
c.)maybe he is under pressure to get might skills then? maybe magic skills are more powerfull but harder to get?
You see what im saying? those are just assumptions - everything can be ballanced (well not everything but most things), given the proper design.

and besides ... you always had to pay for magic spells via magic guild. if you want tier 5 spells you had to buy tier 5 guild - while might hero didn't need to.

I always spent 500 on a spellbook no matter what a hero's class was.
Because I'm stupid and you never know.

In Heroes V there was a great building that allowed buyin level 4 and 5 spells for fee. In my opinion this should make a comeback because it gave you possibility to get certain spell even if it was not available in your town but you had to pay for it, however, I do not want this system to be implemented into towns. Why? Magic Heroeswould have to spend lots of resources to be able to develop. Besides, in Magic Guilds you would be able to choose your preffered magic school so that it would be almost certain to get a spell from particular school (sadly, I cannot find source of that info, although it was mentioned somewhere).

Well, the bottom one is also in a much more realistic art style, as seen in the CGI trailer.

Is it just me or do her toes look wierd? or is one of her legs a few inches shorter?
Also. Those milky blue CGI eyes make here look like a serial killer. Those are the eyes of a soulless person. Plus she has freckles...she's a ginger with colured hair isn't she...

Well, she hold many secrets, so who knows...
Besides, allele of ginger head and freckles do not occur in people from Middle East, hence it won't be seen in Silver cities. On the other hand, girls with freckles and ginger head can be as attractive as others.
