They say creature scale is not final ... so i guess they'll make Chabirs smaller. I do however hope that overall size of all creatures wouldn't be reduced much or at all. I like to have bigger creatures, even if they don't make sense compared to buildings.
Biger is better with battle creatures imo, as it is more clear specialy when we will need to add facing into consideration (flanking).
One thing I realy hope to see tho is top-down view of adventure map. They show off graphics and zoom in cities, which is understandable, but what I'm interasted is how adventure map will look like when I'll play the game.

Townscreen is like a tiny step, but at least it's in the right direction.
Creature size on combat map for me is a major - major - issue. Academy army is like a set of blue blobs smeared over the right part of the map - and then the Cabir which like the only creature stands out. That for me is a real killer, if creatures can't be seen properly on the battlefield, it's a major part of the atmosphere that disappears.

Definately work in progress...
It seems they didn't polish those screens as much as the first ones. Nevertheless I like the vibes this graphic style gives off. With a little bit more AM objects and decoration this could really feel (and I hope play) great. Townscreen looks grittier which is a good thing when looking at H7 Haven's style, but I think the official artwork has a bit more details (especially waterfalls look better, that's probably because on the screenshot with UI those are animated, and a bit misplaced ).
Is it me or is the game going in the oh-so-popular nowadays Game of Thrones direction?

A Song of Ice and Fire is a series of epic fantasy novels written by American novelist and screenwriter George R. R. Martin. Martin began the first volume of the series, A Game of Thrones, in 1991.
So its nothing new.

Yes, but in the past it was not so popular in a way it is like the World of Warcraft themed graphics in Heroes 5 instead of being original they take what is popular, and ply it to their universe.

I dont know why they chose those teardrop-styled blobs for numerical values on creature stacks... They are too bright and completely out of place with the simplistic UI. What's more, I can hardly make out the numbers. I'd rather they had some simplistic round-edge rectangles, black-brown...

Dave_Jame said: But doesn't your investment supposed to be Creatures and Spell. Things that help you earn the gold rather then generate it?
You say that capitals help to speed up the gameplay. But at the same time you know they take up to 1 month to construct. Taking away one month of gameplay.
It really depends on the map. If you play on maps that are poor in gold deposits and treasure chests, then you might want to hit the Capitol rather sooner than later. I've made that mistake a few times, spending it all on creatures to quickly cover the map with my Heroes, only to realise I'm grinding to a halt because I lack Gold. Trying to keep up with the competition while also trying to get that Capitol up can be a painful experience then.
Furthermore, with respect to the treasure chests: you can opt to take the gold from them, so you can focus on creature dwellings and buy the creatures from them and postpone the Capitol until later, but that means you won't be taking the experience from those chests. Especially in the beginning with low level Heroes, a few of those chests can quickly boost up your Hero and thereby his stats - whether that's Attack for Might Heroes or Spell Power for Magic Heroes.
So it's a choice, really. Do you take money from the chests to increase the number of creatures you have in your army, or do you take experience to increase your Hero's level? The former means you can postpone the Capitol for a while, the latter means you're likely going to need it sooner.
I don't know the figures by the top of my head from other Heroes titles, but in HoMM3, a Capitol plays even after 5 days. Anything beyond that is pure gain. Keep in mind that every day you don't have it, essentially costs you 2000 Gold - or better said, is 2000 Gold that you had best cover in other ways, otherwise you're starting to lose out in the long(er) run. Remember that treasure chests eventually run out, as do piles of Gold.

Obviously, the television adaption that has been airing for four seasons now, has greatly popularised the books - and whatever is popular is going to attract people and companies who will try to jump on the bandwagon, hoping to earn a little money from it as well.

Unfortunately for me they were done bad they feel so shallow I can easily see were the idea was taken from and then slightly reworked. In their attempt to make it have the Game of Thrones feel it makes it just feel like a poor imitation in my opinion anyway.

I know this is just the vibe I have gotten from Heroes 6 and the Heroes 7 story so far, I could change my mind after I get more information or the game comes out who knows.

To me is much more closer to the original spirit of the franchise Heroes of Might and Magic. I always felt Ubi titles lost that fairytale aura, but that's only my opinion.
