if i made fun of might and magic, then yes. but i was more making fun of the current trend of flooding the market with dayZ-clones.
still fun though

Well, after working with Ubisoft Limbics might got attention from other companies. I too remain sceptical about it, survival M&M game... Though I would love DMoMM2. One of my favorite games ever. And if "Dark Messiah" ending is canonical (Sareth set Demons free), then yeah, it ties well to survival game.
P.S.: survival games and survival horror games are 2 different genres. Just sayin'.

as far as i understand i should play dark Messiah, right? it seems good. not sure if it's my taste though
don't think it will be a might and magic game if it's survival. that's taking the IP in a completely unnecessary and weird direction. guessing it's a new IP or Ubi has gone mad. possibly both

@kiryu
dark messiah is one of my favourite games too. it was mind blowing back in the day. i like its art style+gameplay(dat kick and weapon swing features.. ultra cool).. story was lineer but the lore was good, and the ending part is just pure gold(kha-beleth!)... i do want another dark messiah game, survival dark messiah with demons sounds like the best! but lets just dont get hyped yet... hope follows dissapointment generally(ubi is life ubi is love).
anyway... should you try dark messiah? despite all the good words.. i think answer is no, because it will look too old.. you know, fps games are not best when they are old. but if you dont mind the age of it, i also reccomend for you to try "arx fatalis." another amazing game, drawing magical runes in air to cast spell, feels just so right.

Dark Messiah is not that old when you compare it to Arx Fatalis. There's difference.

there is a demo, so what the heck
old games don't bother me that much unless they're early 3d-games from around the time of half-life or so. pretty much anything after that is fine
still not certain considering the linearity of it. always preferred RPG's with character creation and freedom to explore (I am so pumped for xenoblade X)

What's Drark Mesiah ? Is it like Dark souls? or like Skyrim? or maybe like Devil may Cry?

I have never played it, but from my knowledge about that title it is a linear RPG with combat system resembling one in "The Elder Scrolls" games.

it's a game in the might and magic franchise of rpg's, sister franchise to heroes of might and magic sort of and what the famous TBS franchise originally came from. (do correct me if i'm wrong. pretty sure i'm not though)
As far as i can say it's not quite like any of the games you listed: it's a first person RPG with very good and varied combat from what i can gather. haven't played it yet but it seems like a very interesting and unique experience due to the combat system however it's supposedly very linear and strictly structured without character creation () or freedom to explore much.
That's just what i've gathered and i'm downloading the demo as we speak

It's a hack an slash 1st person action game focused on combat.
The combat and magic system is rather good but, better then in skyrim as I heard.
The game is not at all like Dark souls, The closest it is to Skyrim, but not an open world game.
In the franchise, the closest game there is is Crusader of Might and magic
@kiryu133: There is actually a lot to explore, You won't find a hidden town, but you can find a lot of interesting secrets. Also, I know you will love Xana.

Looks average .... ofc comparing to modern games that have spoiled me hehe. It's 5$ on steam so it's not big investment. But idk... there's still Dragon Age Inquisition I haven't played yet so ... time is more of a problem for me.
Good thing I work from home office for the time being, so I can atleast monitor forums almost all the time

Oh man, Arantir is by far my favourite character in all M&M games done by Ubi. He is intelligent, extremely powerful and his faith in Spider Queen is a little bit overzealous. I truly hope that since Heresh is a land of fanatics we will get such a deep believer who also is such a formidable enemy to face. I really want to see Spideropolis going one step too far in their faith.

i was always dreaming about fps with swords and such offering a real feeling.. and bam! it was there with a really fun and good combat.
dragon age, skyrim.. they all copied somethings from dark messiah.. lately dying light copied from it..(kicking feature.. but less OP version).
unfortunately it didnt sold much. its one of best underrated games.
ah by the way, magic system was good too if i remember correct, you could cast ice magic at ground to make it slippery...
ways of combat!

DM would be best compared to the next game by it's developer (Arkane studios), DISHONORED. You can see that they took more then a few lessons from the game. And in a certain way, Dishonored is a spiritual successor to DM.

The majority of combat in DM consists of kicking enemies into "strategically" placed spike walls or pits.
While many areas offer multiple ways to dispatch your enemies according to your playstyle (or avoid them altogether),
the boss fights themselves may screw you over if you didn't specialize in certain skills.
Plot twists can be spotted from a mile away, and the accompanying NPCs are way talkative.
The orc village was nice though, loved the scenery in that part.
