And WTF is with the massive gap between fluff description and gameplay skills?
At this point we know very little about the skill wheel or how it works. So there might not be a so massive gap between skills and their descriptions.
Most class descriptions seem to hint that heroes might have limited access to some skills or rather skill levels. I remember some article/blog post mentioning that magic skills have three ranks, called novice, initiate and master. The wizard is mentioned having access to master level water magic, being one of the few that actually gets that rank.
But why isn't it a main skill? One of the primary questions here is: what are main skills actually. We see that all heroes have their faction skill as one of their main skills. Are they starting skills or rather skills that give additional benefits/options/perks to classes that have them as their mains.
If so we can say that (for example) The wizard class gets most out of the metamagic, paragon and prime magic skills, but can also get full access to water magic, although without some additional "good stuff."
About names, well... naming 36 hero classes can get hard, but battlemage and blademage are abit too similar. I hoped the offensive hero is going to be elementalist, but maybe its not fitting enough. Sorcerer could be fine, but they are probably keeping it for the dungeon.
Main skills = starting skills, safe to say I think.
Fluff text = describing the potency of some skills. The repetitive adjectives like "decent" are there to facilitate an easy comparison.
Mastery levels are called Novice, Expert and Master. I don't believe there will be any differences at a mastery level, just at a perk level - although I might be wrong but I can't imagine a system where you would pick a skill only for the Novice or Expert masteries.
However I'm pretty sure there will be skills that certain classes would not be able to pick at all - banned in their skillwheel.

I agree, but I wanna give it a go
... well maybe not 36 classes just few magical ones:
Elementalist, Invoker, Archivist, Sorcerer, Wizard, Enchanter, Warlock, Mage, Battlemage, Artificier, Summoner, Magician, Occultist, Spiritualist, Mystic, Necromancer, Diviner, Conjurer, Seer, Astrologer, Astromancer, Prophet, Bard, Druid, Oracle, Shaman, Cleric, Hermit, Monk, Augurer, Charmer, Diabolist, Exorcist, Spellbinder, Thaumaturge, Naturalist
.... well actualy that's 36 magical only classes
Actualy, come to think of it, I do play too much games...
P.S.: I picket up Aurgur from Skyrim ... I hope I spelled it right ... heh spelled ... dispelled ... I forgot Dispeller ... and Spellweaver, and Spellcaster, or ... Antimage, Animage, Sage ... did I say Sage?
OK ... I must stop. I'm sure there's plenty more

There is a word "naturalist" if that's what you're talking about.

I think it was in some H3 mod (Hero of Light?) where it replaced teh elementalist. a rather horrible name TBH, glad they didn't go with naturist
You can find 72+ different hero names, but naming a sincle class when there are 35 other classes can get trickier. Names have to fit the supposed purpose, role, skillset and faction.
You wouldn't call a fireball throwing, lightningbolt slinging dude a diviner (unless you are helping to bring the destruction you foresaw )

@Sandro ye ... but in context of magical character, like druid of sorts ... idk. ... Anyway, now that I saw official meaning of word from dictionary, I agree. It would make poor name for magical class.
EDIT: @Sorts, ye now that I think about it, you may be right, it might just be the mod for H3, but I played loads of them, so it's hard for me to tell what then name would be.

Cause the Dark Elves were banned from that place after the H5-incident, but they gotta keep the club staffed.

I do not question it. In fact, I have nothing against but aren't Necromancers (except Anastasya) against sexual relationships? This picture suggests something different. Well, it seems that even after death the all-mighty power of a boner can't be overcome...

It is generaly frowned upon by members of the Spidercult, yes. But that is something different as being against it, it's matter of having ones priorities wrong. Furthermore, not all Necromancers are Spider-cult fanatics, much as some pictures might want to have you think otherwise. Thirdly, once they become Vampires, their eternal youth makes them vain. This could well be an expression of that vanity.

How can it be good for a City of Dead, how can such a concept be worth scrapping the pre-H6 Necropolis?
