They mentioned in article, that teleporting & flying units gain the most from flanking. I don't agree with your statement.
That's why I think they removed a lot of fliers. Having to many (or any at all) would give to much of an advantage, because of the flanking system.
you don't agree. care to explain?

Its a picture of the tactics phase. The player is placing creatures on the battlefield (green marking the possible placing area). The player is currently placing the welder guy so the mouse cursor has turned into a creature icon. Purple tiles are reserved for the hero's home. The attack will soon begin by the troops advancing to the north.
But what need is there for the purple tiles if the hero is static?

I don't think that flanking is reason for small number of fliers. It just differs from game to game.

Sometimes well prepared heroes might bring some warfare units with them to keep them some company while the units are running around performing various tasks on the battlefield

Probably some placeholdery alpha stuff to mark the area where the hero and warfare units are going to be.
Um... maybe you can alter the positions of warfare units too? Probably not

I changed avatar to swordmaster, cause its my 2nd favorit unit beside wolf in haven. But if you prefer wolf i might change it back.
Hmm not sure yet but it might come to that :/ I will make sure to bring this up in the next avatar counsil meeting with Dave_Jame so this matter can be properly handled
So we can't change avatars or what?

but you got to admit the presentation could be improved, at least so the article isn't scratching its head asking the reader what went on in H3 lol
When I asked about it myself they told me that they lack the means to proofread because of some legal issues. So what I'm thinking is that they aren't allowed to share the info with 3rd parties because of NDA stuff. But it's been a while now and they still didn't find a solution, it's quite sad.

I can't tell you more than that without breaking the confidentiality of my source. But the idea is that they don't have native speakers in their staff to proofread, and they cannot give the transcripts to 3rd parties because it slows down the process.

verriker said: btw sorry, but lmao at this
Quote: In Heroes VII, we developed a system to have more flexibility when creating battle maps, which include the possibility to have custom deployment formations for CPU controller armies. It means the “ambush” formations seen in Heroes III (?) are possible, as well as other exotic formation.
why is there a question mark in that paragraph? I know most Ubi folks are not known for their encyclopedic knowledge of the series legacy, but could the writer of this article not remember how combat worked in Heroes 3? lol
Forgot this little guy
the (?) is a mark meaning: do I put an illustration for this here?
I will update the article tomorrow, thanks for spotting!
Update: Fixed!

that's weird they can't find an English speaker they can trust, but I guess it could explain all of the clunky dialogue of the recent games lol

Guys, I need your help.
MMH6.com said: Creature with higher initiative (the slowest) will wait longer than those with low initiative. Fast creature will then always act before slow ones.
Am I the only one who sees a logical error (os a misprint)? If they stick to the classic H3-system, then woudn't the order of waiting units decided by "who's faster, acts faster"?
I am quite confused with this sentence. I think I understand it and see the error, but I'm not sure ans as such, it's hell to translate correctly...
