Of course not! Although a colleague of mine gave me this book as a Christmas gift 2 years ago. I haven't opened it yet. About my knowledge on the "Red room" - I've watched a trailer of that movie twice and there was this infamous room but no, I haven't seen the movie and I'm not planning to do that neither. Similarly, I have no plans regarding the book.

Agreed.
But at the very least i am trying to adapt and find reason in the current mythos rather than complain and complain. If anything, i am adapting, without blindingly shout "I don't want that".
I'd much prefer to see a Grim rider much like heroes V Wraiths with shadowy wings but i did not. I wanted Grim Rider and Grim Reapers to be High Death Spirits/Elementals but i did not. I will adapt though.

well adapting isn't automatically a virtue - some of us complain and complain because we feel it's our right to not adapt to concepts we think are garbage lol
if I told a protester he's a time waster who has to adapt, he'd rightfully respond that I can stick my adapt where the sun don't shine

Lore should be something giving a deeper meaning to what you see happening on your screen, not some mind twisting exercise which you would have to stretch your imagination into the realm of ridiculousness to be able to accept.

You know, it's not too late for retcon. The game is still not released. If this nonsense is not established in some other spin-off they can change it.
As Verriker said, you don't have to adapt to one-dimentional nonsense. If ask for change we might get it. It's not like remodeling of criters, just change the bio.

Articun is pretty much saying he wont loose sleep over the fact that they are Vampires. Which is a fair point. But just as this might not be the most crucial part of the game for me either, it is still something that can rather easily be changed so why not try when we have a change.
If Grim Raiders have nothing mystical about them I will be disappointed. Why can't they just say they don't know the history of Grim Raiders, it is rumoured that they are old Vampires that have made a pact with Mother Namtaru to gain powers over Death or smth. Not the most original, but anything that leaves us guessing a bit...

A good bio in my opinion would something like this:
Grim Riders:
No one knows how these beings came to Al Betyl or when. And no ones know much about them. No one can control them either. What is known is their ability to spread death. When the necropolis armies march, shadowy riders will be seen sweeping on the enemy ranks leaving only death before they are disappeared again, into the dark mist that brought them.
Grim Reapers:
It is said that when you hear horses hooves in the night and the air turns cold and piercing to the bone, Death is passing by. In the morning someone will be crying over a dead person, while others will whisper of a misty rider bearing a scythe with a parade of souls following his lead

That said the long ears and the feathers are a good hint that this is an elf no?

I don't think I've actually ever seen a "black" darkelf anywhere. Most of the time they are just pale. Pale white, pale yellow, pale blue or maybe ash coloured but never actually black.
I'd be actually happy if vampires would be only humanoid like but not complete humans with pointy teeth. Basically they need 2 arms 2 legs and a head, minimum. That leaves a lot of room for play. It would actually be a reason to add the spiderlegs to the vampires that they are so itching to do.
