Since we have appeared to have caught the interest of some of the devs, how were you planning to incorporate the root snake? as far as i'm concerned, making snakes look good ingame? no matter how i think about it i just can't see it looking anything but terrible.
Or was it just a random idea you hadn't given that much though other than for gameplay at the time?

Considering they are *root* snakes, I don't find it hard to believe they would walk around how treant from CoH attacks: going into and out of the ground.

I don't remember exactly what was planned for them by the game designers, but I believe it was indeed a "burrowing" kind of movement.

I think they can be made to be decent units in battle if i judge by Kings Bounty

I'm with you; when I look at the 3D models, I see a full bone ribcage and the arms and skull also don't appear to have much flesh remaining. The rest is hidden from view by its clothing. Then keep in mind you'll be seeing them from afar on the battlefield, I doubt you will notice whatever remaining flesh some people still appear to be seeing.
But this is not criticism, far from it! I like the current design a truckload better than the previous one .

Lore question: if a more desiccated lich decided to become a vampire, would they be a really desiccated vampire, gradually fill out over time/meals, or instantly bishie-fy in a comical fashion?

Seems to me the snakes' characteristics got given to the champions: Dragon looks like a snake and Treant does a burrowy root thing.
I'd love to see some kind of joke map at the end of the game where you have to fight all the "forsaken" units like Emerald Knight, but then if that happened, they wouldn't be forsaken. Oh well...

Follow-up question: If a vampire disolves due to venom, does that turn him back into a Lich?

That's very disappointing.

and the serpent in HotA. That one was large though which helped a great deal. I guess it's more "snakes that aren't massive" that would be hard to implement...

Nobody can tell - it would be drowned out by the ambient ghostly "ooooh~"s and the accompanying organ music.

Vampire and Lich are awesome and Map Generator looks user friendly enough for players to make maps for the game, this way maybe it will make its life longer.
Now if somehow the skill system, hero specializations and battles taking less time would be implemented the game would be pretty fantastic imo. (Even for the art style which doesn't fit for me)
Maybe some of them will be changed with time..
Anyway good news, I hope Dungeon will be as good as these news.

What about modding capabilities, can we add/replace creatures, towns, artifacts? Will there be some scripting possibilities, both in-game and editor? You know, all those things that we can actually do in Heroes III -WoG and which each Heroes game should have by default by now.
