Protolisk said: The mere fact that" Holy crap! People of Malassa are taking in Shalassa followers? And not outright hating them? They are working together?" is justification enough. In addition, it could be seen as a sign of progress of Ubi's story-telling.
They took them 200 yeas ago.
Why, being underground in continuous contact with faceless and DE, do you think they didn't convert (at least partially) to Malassa ?
200 years ago, nearing the end of a game, they took Orisho in. Not Wreckers; They have Orisho. Medusa are Wrecker cultists, but Orisho is the groundwork for naga in Ygg-Chall society. And the "denizens of ygg-chal" page is set in "current" time, during H7. So I am still pretty certain Medusa are mostly Wrecker (yes, some are Malassa, but still, most are Wrecker) and are supplemented by Orisho's descendants.

hahaha
Well, I really hope Marzhin or Kimmundi will look at this thread and push the idea of medusa+matriarch in one to the Dev team ... I really wish

No way Medusa and Matriarch can be united into one - the other is ruling elite of Dungeon and of Dark Elf race and other is renegade from Naga race. There are slight changes to lore I can tolerate but this would be impossible to explain.

well, the idea was a mix in the models just to serve as inspiration for the creation of a new dungeon creature, not to make a breed between these two.

I hate them both but if I have to choose, Matriarchs are a lot better than Medusas.

Your use of ad hominem only weakens yourself.
Besides, what does favouring Striders for lore reason have to do with disliking the Shadow Witch's hairstyle? Seriously, is THIS worth defending?

it was just a joke, since you seemed to suppose I was suggesting an "hair metal girl".
Btw, I have no idea where the 'Shadow Witch's hairstyle' entered in the discussion. I was talking about a witch with snakes in the head, that's all.
Seems you are taking things personally, so I'll stop here.

It seems there was a miscommunication of humour on both our parts. I did not mean offence, and I did not mean to appear to take offence.
Let's just laugh at 80s bands together.
(BTW, to explain the "hair metal" joke, I was equating the Shadow Witches to stuff like the above)

I'm glad to know it was miscommunication and you wasn't offended.

with the addition of medusas (and how most want them to be spiritual successors to matriarchs) i kinda hope they turn Dungeon (and it's "country") into a welcoming refugee for anyone who wants to join, with medusas and minotaurs having just as many rights and privileges as dark elven citizens. Commanders and leaders having just as much chance to be minotaurs or nagas as they are to be dark elves
would certainly be a welcome change to the otherwise homogeneous Ashan.

For those talking about mixing a Medusa and a Dark Elf...
Did you know that Warhammer () has exactly a creature corresponding to this description ?
The Bloodwrack Medusa:
The more it changes...

My main concern on Medusa is that they don't seem to have Petrifictiation. Petrification is like the whole point of Medúas. It's what they do. And it'd work perfectly in H7 too. Have an ability where the Meduda can petrify anyone facing her, from afar. Hiding behind an obstacle or such would be a way to counter this.

well i'm sure we can influence the creation of the medusa to have petrification, i mean mean they haven't even started on it yet, right? as long as we keep at it and let the developers know the medusa needs petrification (or something similar enough) it can probably make it in.

Medusa's are listed as a saboteur. I'm assuming they have a petrification ability.
The Coral Priestesses had the same thing with their slow attack, which was similarly a less powerful version of what the tier 4 medusa's could do in H3. A lot of people complained that their slow ability was a sell-off of actual petrification but you couldn't really give that to a core creature. The H7 medusa's are going to be an elite.
I stand with the majority in saying H6 was the worst game of the series so far, but one thing that I did love from it was the introduction of cooldown timers on unit abilities. H3 had a less strategic model where she shot her arrows and there was a chance of petrification. In H7, if you still have the cooldown timers, her gaze attack will probably be something she can deliver every 2 or 3 turns, maybe only towards creatures adjacent or within X hexes of her, and if you add the additional restriction of being in her vicinity, they could even make it more powerful than the H3 version. Since she's a ranged creature, a melee gaze attack would be a 'punishment' for blocking her off with a fast flyer or something that would make things more interesting.
