John shook his head, his hair moving about him like a big furry animal. Francis was too distracted and angry to even have a chance. If he fought like that in a real fight he would be a goner. But this was not the time to talk to him, so John just got up and went back to packing his belongings.

In that moment Francis wanted to punch himself to death, he was angry and confused, something that usually happened to him, so he said: -Then how do you know what I need to tell you?- to which she responded: -What part of me knowing the black arts did you forget?- Francis then, both for embarrassment and for shame didn't respond, but instead tried to get away, he had to smack his head on something, but he couldn't go away.

- Let's get back to preparation- Drago said to Magnus.
- Aye, tis be best.- The dwarf responded.
The remaining few hours passed quickly, with rain pouring down heavier and heavier. The company was on the march towards Starseeker's coven. Before entering, Magnus went off to find any secondary entrances. He returned shortly after.
- Here it be lads. the fool is huddled up in the cave, there are no other exits, than the one ye see before ye.- He said.
- Very good. be cautious. the warlock may be like a cornered bear. and you know how dangerous are they.
- Indeed. and they may unleash the void hounds on us, but the beasts could attack anyone, including their summoners.- Halfman said.- Elena, Starseeker had studied at Pyross. we will count on you to thwart his attempts on casting any nasty spells. I'll go in first, you rest, will follow.
There was no needed to argue on the plan. Halfman after all was a Samann mage hunter, he was used to operations such as this.
Following Halfman, half of the company entered the spacious cavern. There was room even for a full blooded giant in these carverns.
- Amazing.- Drago said.
- So little defences.- Halfman pondered.- No traps, no magical runes, nothing. I guess with the undead roaming freely in this duchy, he thought he was safe.
there were several men and women, no doubt apprentices of the warlock. they were sleeping deeply. Dragomir ordered to kill them in their beds.
After passing a corridor, they stepped into the ritual hall of the coven. The group hasn't been seen yet. there were imp slaves preparing a sort of summoning circle, while Starseeker read a large, old tome and mumbled something under his nose.
- Now here's what we do- Halfman whispered.- some of you, loose your crossbows at the imps.- He noted the heavy moisture in the cavern- Elena, I want you to throw the nastiest spell in your arsenal. Encase the warlock in ice, but do not kill him. Ready?

- It would, but then, where's the fun in that?- the tiny wizard replied.- It may be fun for you to draw and quarter him or whatever, but physical agony isn't my cup of ale.
It was Halfman's habit to do so with the enemy wizards. He liked to see their realisation that they will never be able to wield great power as they once did.

Halfman signaled the troops to loose their crossbows. one by one, the voidspawn servants fell, while Elena's magic restrained the warlock from casting any spells. The company moved to kill off the caged voidhounds and any imps they missed, While Halfman moved to the wizard encased in ice.
- Joanos De Vrysse!- Halfman began the incantation- I deem your rituals complete!- Red and black energy surges flown out, and seeped into the crystal embedded into Halfman's staff. The captured warlock had a desperate look on his eyes.
- Why don't just kill me?- He uttered.
- Oh, that would be way to easy- Halfman replied. He noted the tome that the warlock was reading. it was one of the summoning tomes written by the Onshal clan elders. The tiny wizard moved towards it, borrowed a torch from one of the mercenaries and put it to the flame.
There was nothing more in the cavern. Dragomir decided to bound the warlock in chains and take him back to the castle for public execution. Upon return, the company saw that some of Titus' bannermen had answered his call for help.

-So... As I understand you were under the tutelage of Lord Federigo?-
-Indeed brother, those buggers at the castle didn't even know poetry...- -Ah dammit! You've got catching up to do! Where is Federigo?- -He'll be coming with his army, he said he's willing to honour the bound between our families.- -Great news! Now excuse me, I have to see the rest of our allies.- -No worries, go on Francis!-
After some time a carriage arrived, escorted by a group of men at arms, a lady descended from it.
The woman was lady Agatha, sister of Lord Federigo, wife of Lord Titus and mother of Francis, who came after being invited back.
Francis was filled with joy to see his family getting reunited once again he ran up to his mother and hugged her, then after a bit of talking he went back to the brotherhood, as he had to talk with Guinevre, and either way he had to return to his father.

Meanwhile Halfman was really enjoying beating the now powerless Starseeker with a large stick as well as spouting obscenities at him, and damning his whole entire kin. It was a humorous sight for some, as a midget beating a fully grown man was truly something you don't see everyday.
After Halfman crushed the nose of Starseeker, Drago stepped in, as the tiny wizard was catching his breath.
- Feel better now?- Drago asked him.
- Yea... I... do...- Halfman responded.
- Can we get on with the execution?
Halfman just nodded in agreement. Drago grabbed the captured warlock and dragged him to the chopping block. As he placed the captive into the position Drago said:
- Joanos De Vrysse, formely known as the warlock Starseeker. you had commited atrocious crimes against the Kingdom of Merinanth and it's people. You sought to weaken the kingdom with your voidspawn hordes and enthralled ogre warbands. For your high treason against his Grace I, Dragomir the Black, captain of the Brotherhood of the Tattered Banner, in service of the throne of Merinanth Send you to Vellyn's pits.- He said as he raised his sword and with one strike removed the head of the wizard from his shoulders.
- There- Drago said as he cleaned his sword.- All that's left is that blasted witch-duchess.

- Look there, drago, a whole bloody family reunion- Magnus noted, as Francis was chatting with his kin.
- Indeed.- Drago said as he sheathed his sword. few members of the company mounted Starseekers head on a pike, and few others dragged the headless body outside the boundaries of the keep.
Thus with people doing their duties, and another of Allikha's training sessions, the sun set and Lord Titus invited every senior member of the company, and at the request of Dragomir, Mikolaj as well for dinner in the keeps main hall.
As dinner went on, the door suddenly burst open, and a middle aged man bearing the Raddwill sigil on his cuirass entered. The man had short hair and a long, graying red beard. Accompanying him, were two heavily armed Raddwill men-at-arms. all three seemed sweating heavily and exhausted from no doubt fast and restless march to the duchy.
The man bowed his head slightly to Titus and introduced himself.
- I am Jonusz Raddwill, Grand Hetman of his Grace's forces. I was sent here, by the request of the Captain of The Brotherhood of the Tattered Banner, to help you in your endeavor to return the Duchy from the Usurper Viola De Calandrie Noire.- he then patiently waited for the old lord to respond.

- I see the junior is part of you now- He said as he shook hands with Drago.- It'll be best for him here. Krystoph's feasting in Vellyn's grand hall and with father soon to join him, things would go badly for him. Very badly.
- I know.- Drago said.- your lady mother personally requested me to sign him up. He has a grand life in front of him.
- Indeed.- Jonusz replied and accepted the cup of wine offered by a cup bearer.
- My lord- the hetman addressed Titus- if it pleases you, I have brought along over one thousand seven hundred men, complete with dwarven siege bombards. His grace had ordered me to stay here until the undead menace and the usurper is dealt with.

Jonusz nodded and took his seat.
- So tell me, how did you managed to get here so fast? I know the falcon is fast, but...
- No mystery here Dragonheart- Jonusz said while filling his plate with meat and peas- Just the fact that I was visiting my lord father at Kernav and in the keep we have one of those magic mirrors made by Amat mages. His grace contacted me with that and told the urgent matter. So I rounded up what force I could and rushed them here.
- Makes sense...- Drago said as he finished his drink. The main seat of House Raddwill was nearby the border between the two duchies.
- It was one hell of a trip. But we made it. Exhausted but ready. Although we'll probably have to delay the siege for a bit to allow my men to rest a bit.
- Will a day suffice?- Drago asked.
- Aye, it should.- Jonusz replied after swallowing a bite.
- It's settled then. We march on the witch duchess the day after tommorow.
The preparations for the liberating of the duchy went smoothly. time flew quickly and now, the company along with the rest of the force found itself besieging the bastion of the Necromancer Viola.
Bombards thundered and arrows flew, and there were clashes with the undead who tried to break the siege. The Grand Hetman brought along a detachment of Raddwill winged hussars, who kept most of the risen dead at bay, the few that passed through however met their end at the blades of the company. It seemed as most of the defence force were concentraded on the siege, leaving other parts of the castle undefended.
Drago devised a plan for a small force to infiltrate the castle by scaling the walls. once inside they would capture and deal with Viola. He pondered that twenty people will be enough, and he didn't cared who come along. they agreed with the hetman that once Viola is defeated the company's banner will fly over the keep.
Magnus didn't want to go along, so instead, the grand hetman gave him a command of a bombard crew, to which the dwarf was happy to oblige.
Cloaked by an illusion of Blackbird the infiltration force moved towards the castle. The illusion wouldn't hide them for long, so the company had to move quickly.
The scaling of the wall wasn't all that difficult, save for halfman's complaints while climbing.
The gruop had successfully made it into the keep.
- Now- Drago asked- Where we go look for the wench?- as he finished a moderate explosion was heard outside.

when the time came for the preparation of the infiltration force, of all the brothers only Marcus and Lucius volunteered to enter the castle, as Marcus knew the castle having lived there shortly after he married Viola and Lucius was also acquainted with the castle since he visited more often than the other brothers, and also wanted to personally witness the scene...
When the time came to look for her Marcus answered Drago's question: -She always had a penchant for staying in the north-eastern tower, come to think of it that place was always oddly suspicious, like it was made to look like nothing was happening there... And of course the pervasive odour... So, our first bet to find her would be to go there...-
