Yeah, I don't think this is on Limbic (or blackhole) but rather on poor leadership on Ubi's part.

I do not think limbic is entirely to blame for the gameplay decisions - though they should have seen the results coming. But the release terrible performance and loading times are on them. I also don't feel any special touch, something that makes the game stand out.

keep it going there Vivendi mate lol looks like you made Ubisoft throw yet another tantrum, they will have to pipe down and accept the inevitable,
it would be good for you to close down Team Erwin and start a proper Might and Magic team or at worst give the series/formula a break to recover its reputation, they really butcher it each time lol
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/271678/Vivendi_snaps_up_even_more_Ubisoft_shares.php
Quote: According to a report by Reuters, a letter to French stock market regulator, the AMF, shows Vivendi now holds 17.73 percent of Ubisoft's company value, along with a 15.66 percent share of its voting rights.
Despite its continued advances -- which Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, last year branded "unsolicited and unwelcome," -- Vivendi says it has no immediate plans to seek control of Ubisoft, or table a public offer for any outstanding shares. Not.
Vivendi's interest in Ubisoft began late last year, when it purchased a 10.39 percent stake in the developer for 244 million euros.

Well, coming from a company that actually asked the Canadian and French government to "protect its interests", we ought to see what their next desperate move will be. 'cause this bid business from Vivendi seems the only language Ubi speaks and *truly* understands.

Still, isnt heroes also in dangerous waters? I mean we dont know how viventi will change ubisoft and gameloft. Also we dont know what games it will focus on and how. Since heroes has been dping poorly iant it quite possible to discontinue the game in general?
Fingers crossed there is at least one heroes fan in the board of directors in viventi

Does it matter at this point?
Heroes is like a flaming airplane that on its' way down has already grazed a mountain only to tumble further and crash into an iceberg before finally being put out by the ice cold waters to take its' place on the ocean floor next to the titanic where it will remain undisturbed for decades.

That's quite dark there mate. Everything can be saved even in the last moment. It only needs a chance to be what it is meant to be and a community to support it.
A different team that knows and respects the game's legacy can do that. And if that happens, it will also unity a good amount of the community to promote the game.

Heroes 8 will not be the first thing Vivendi does. Either hey put the whole M&M on hold until they know what to do with the brand (will probably take years before we see a new game, if ever), or they sell the IP to someone (could turn out really good or really bad). In any case I'm not expecting a new, great game in the nearest future, but at least there is a higher chance compared to the current situation.

Yup, Vivendi's takeover would be best for the long game, not for short term.
Looking at the direction the series have gone and will go from here under Ubichof command, it's clear for me which is the good path.

An expected turn of events. We'll see how it goes from here but one thing is for certain, continuing with the same team behind it is no longer acceptable. Past H5 they have been stumbling in the dark, making one blunder after the other, without really understanding what the fuss was about. Even when they think they do, they tweak their own direction a bit and mess something else up in the process.

Let us hope they manage Heroes better. But i feel they'll manage it by not putting out more MM products and you'll be stuck with H7 modding (and the old games of course)
The comments in this thread remind me of a doomsday cult, gleefully cheering their own oblivion (the impact lessened by the series being currently on a snowty place though)

GenyaArikado may be the only person here who actually gets it.
I'm happy too that ubi might go down, but in the meantime i know that this might be the end of heroes as we know it (imagine it as a mobile game with microtransactions).
Lets hope they get it right this time with the add-on and be the new H5 that will accompany us for the years to come.
