We'll do it as well.
I mean, it's this new kind of vaccination that doesn't infect you with a weakened version, but gives your system a blueprint of the antibodies.
Cool thing.

Yeah I will take it, in here first the health care workers get it and then every one else. Probably still 6 months of this snow left though, maybe a year... but I see light in the horizon ^^

I don't really care about it, if compelled I will, if I can avoid the hassle, I will.
Probably a bit too overconfident on my health, but hey, I'm also the guy that still has to call insurance companies to cancel some plans that are draining money from me.

I think it is interesting that Italy (or maybe Spain?) might have been the original starting point of the pandemic, but it was first detected in Wuhan after spreading through frozen seafood.

Some say that the study suggesting it was here first was based on an incorrect reading of serum immunoglobulins in which they exchanged common coronavirus ones with novel coronavirus ones.
Also, if it's true that it originated here it gives credence to the idea of it being a seasonal disease that becomes risky only during cold seasons.
There was no significant excess mortality until february or so, didn't check the data again.

It did seem to get really awful in Spain and Italy really fast though. Makes you wonder if it was already circulating and being mistaken for something else.

Checked my stats, definitely no significant increase in deaths between 2018-2019, so an hypothetical hidden first wave either was inscribed in a smaller area, or didn't resolve into worse conditions like today, there were cases of anomalous pneumoniae during the winter however, which is how we saw that it arrived here in the first place, that said, China "reported" similar anomalies earlier than us, for what is possible to understand at least.
The January/February average mortality of 2020 was actually even lower than past years, Piedmont even saw an 11% decrease of mortality during that timeframe.
Considering we're directed towards an harsh winter of covid deaths (since at least for now the correlation of cold weather and worse reaction still stands), we should be set to see another spike in mortality in that same period.
The reason for the sudden spread could be simply ascribed to a few factors relating to geography and initial bad handling of the situation, for example, the most dense spread followed quite snugly an highway that traversed the Po valley, and the first hotspots were also in that valley, where all the big industry is, which is also the densest populated area of Italy.
Then add the leak of the lockdown coming, which led waves of people fleeing the area to the rest of the country.
The spread in the March-April-May period was much more contained in the south, which wouldn't have made sense in an initial bigger spread scenario, compared to that moment for example, we have 1800 daily cases here vs the 180 max we had during spring, which can be owed to the northerners coming here for vacation or whatever.
Then again, who knows, but I'd find it difficult to get a definite answer after a year.

Spain is like the worst place in the universe for pandemics to start because it proportionately has the most tourist traffic in the world.
It wouldn't surprise me if the virus was only first detected in Wuhan because China has had lots of outbreaks in the past 100 years and they're very pedantic about monitoring novel strains. I don't think it would be caught nearly as quickly, at least not in the States because everybody here thinks they're immortal.
Or maybe it mutated in Wuhan?

Ah, right. I was thinking a couple of weeks ago that we'd start WFH due to the new set of restrictions here. Turns out my company found a loop in regulations that allows to have at the office employees without the necessary means or equipment to WFH. So I've been on site ever since under that pretext, me and all the regulars. Literally nothing changed. Mildly upset over it.

Shanghai has reported six new locally transmitted coronavirus cases in four days, and four communities in Pudong distrist of Shanghai where the patients live are currently designated as medium-risk areas.
People in these areas are not allowed to leave Shanghai except in an emergency, but they must produce a negative nucleic acid test certificate within seven days.
Research has found that the coronavirus can survive in enclosed and humid environments. Two workers in Shanghai Pudong Airport were infected after entering an aviation container for cleaning work on October 30 and they did not wear masks during cleaning. The container is enclosed and humid and had a large amount of foam inside,
The genes of the two cases are similar to the epidemic strain in North America, indicating an infection source from overseas.

COVID 21 time bois.
Oh wait, it's called VUI 2020-2021 for now, well, it would be a shame if it turned out to have a different spike protein and the vaccine won't work. Don't worry, they're also going to make another mRNA vaccine for it, just in time for COVID 23.

I don't intend to. On top of the risks, it seems that getting vaccinated doesn't change much, the magical mask still has to be worn and destruction of the economy will continue through lockdown until they'll make another, "better" vaccine and then another that will make more money. Thanks but no thanks. Apparently all it does is 'protect' you from getting a severe version of this flu.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if they'll gradually force everyone to get the useless shot by restricting basic freedom even further for the ones who didn't take the vaccine. And nobody bats an eye because it's for our own good. Just like any dictatorship claims.
The plandemic goes on. Be responsible, save lives! [rolleyes]
