The referendum asked local populations whether they wanted to join Russia as a federal subject, or if they wanted to restore the 1992 Crimean constitution and Crimea's status as a part of Ukraine. The official result from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was a 97 percent vote for integration of the region into the Russian Federation with an 83 percent voter turnout
LOL. The referendum was a joke. In effect it was a coup, parliament was forced to decide things at gunpoint and the referendum, done AFTER they already had split from Ukraine, was illegal.

I don't know, do you really believe 99,73% of Austrians voted (with a turnout of 99,71%) for the Anschluss with Germany? After Germany, ahem, 'restored order'? The Anschluss might have been popular with Austrians, the annexation of Crimea might have been popular with Crimeans, but come on, both of those referendums are as bullsnow as elections in Chechnya.

Do you blamed Klinton, Bush-jr or Obama same way? No? Why?
I wasn't born when the US annexed Texas, I was too young to have a notion of what's going on in the Balkans, I opposed the Iraq war, I think the Peace Nobel Price for Obama was a scandal and I think the likes of Vanunu, Manning, Snowden and Assange are heroes for their whistleblowing.
But you know what, that's all orthogonal to the discussion about Putin's war.

Please go inform yourself about whataboutism already. It is around kindergarten or early school age when most sane people realise that this kind of arguing doesn't make sense.

JollyJoker said: Look. People with a known good connection to Putin working in another country are called upon to not be neutral anymore and pretend nothing has happened. That's basically part of the sanctions and the idea behind them: force people with a known connection and influence to take up position. No neutrality anymore.
Make it uncomfortable for them. I mean, they also freeze accounts of certain people. That's more or less the same thing - you can't actually do that.
But they can, obviously, and they do. It's not too much to ask to condemn a war and express displeasure about it, and if someone doesn't want it, in this time they feel the consequences: they are not longer desired. And that's what they actually aren't, if they cannot condemn a war.
That is actually the whole point of a big part of the sanctions. Make "important" Russians feel the effect of being shunned in the world.
And they aren't forced. They don't have to. But then they are not welcome, which is drastic, yes, but not totalitarian. Remember, in totalitarian countries you cannot say your opinion OR flee - you are arrested and put into jail.
That’s why I said it’s a totalitarian attitude, not totalitarianism. Unlike some, I dont treat the world lightly. And I know why they are doing it, I still dont approve it, not on principle, not on practicality. If you force people to their opinions through fear, it becomes impossible to evaluate and discuss things rationally.

Heaven forbid. So you still believe in that Putin propaganda? Stopping an anti-Russian genocide? Now that Russian forces go into raptures over shelling Russian-speaking Ukrainians.

And herein lies the goal of the war. It's been manufactured on both sides to further the WEF agenda. The WEF has long talked about having a "bipolar world" (rather than a unipolar world with American hegemony), in addition to their agenda of worldwide totalitarian communism ("You will own nothing and be happy"; "Communism is the abolition of private property").
Putin has been a longtime member of the WEF, as well as Xi of China. They are both on board for the 4th industrial revolution with Russia officially signing on last year. China harvests much of the organs that are used for this revolution (gene editing, biometric data harvesting)
WEF puppets are installed all over the western world, with Klaus Schwab even boasting of it. This war is real, but it is nevertheless a proxy to polarize the world to further the WEF agenda.
WEF puppets will use every opportunity to further impoverish their citizens and sieze power from them. Think of all they will do under the guise of war measures.
It wouldn't be hyperbole to call it WW3, but it's not between Russia and the West; it's between the WEF (or whoever uses them as a front) and humanity.

Such a big pile of snow. This swollen-faced lunatic and his collaborators are going to make us waste our money, trade a bright future for weapons and revert our societies back to militarism?
Such a bitter time to live in.

Please elaborate... I sincerely don't understand.
So the war is legally wrong but morally right? Plase say you don't think so.
