Metaphorically, if there were spaceships capable to save humanity from the dying Sun, it would be indifferent if they were French, Chinese, Russian, or American. In the end, we will live in the United States of Earth. It's only an illusion that 1000 years are huge amount of time. It's just 10 lives of random individuums arranged along time in series. Just 10! So, 3022 is not as far as many think it is. Even Jesus returned to His Father 20 human lives ago.

To make an impression, if you are 50, think about your time spent on this planet. Do you think it's huge amount of time. Many would say they think that they didn't live at all. Then, multiply this amount of years to 20, and you get exactly 1000 years. Do you still think it's huge amount ot time? Sometimes the right scale puts everything in its place...

Nuclear reactors cannot really explode per se (or start any sort of thermonuclear explosion). At worst you'll have a meltdown, the fuel rods will melt through the casing, which is an ecological distaster, but nope, no boom. Chernobyl's RBMK-1000 did blow up, but it was a "conventional" explosion created by pressurized water, not a nuclear one. The "Chernobyl" mini-series explains this rather well.

Never had a thought that such jokes would replace creativity and originality.
Dorogie Tovarischi, we live in the age when your closest friends love Putin more than they love you. It's pure insanity in its purest form. Stay yourselves, be calm, believe in the brighter future ahead. There is no excuse for this offensive war. And those who support it are just braindeads, soulless and thoughtless victims of propaganda.

We have lots of misunderstandings. We, who think we are a bit more educated than Uncle Ben. Well, I don't argue his knowledge of history, maybe he even beats me. But I clearly see his lack of compassion. And he's not the one of those who bawling "Tanks ahead, let's crush those Ukrainian snows". Just try to understand what is in minds of Russian commoners then. Today I heard Hitler's salute from not so sober goofs. They don't care what to shout. I hope Russian people aren't so hopeless as those drunk fellows.

Did you know that in Russia you will need 191 years and 9 months to collect $1,000,000 if you earn average salary in the country. Switzerland's citizens need only 13 years for that. 13 (!) brothers and sisters. This is a HUGE gap. Now think about that in Cali some average houses cost $3,000,000+, and you will understand why this situation we have now is possible. All rich patriots of Russia live outside the country of their deepest feelings. I'm almost sure that if Russia allowed to earn $1,000,000 less than within an average human life, Ukraine would join it without any battles.
Some Russian propagandists tell people that in Switzerland you pay more. Lol. Do people really understand that you cannot pay 191/13 = 14 times more. Even in the US prices are comparable with prices in Russia. The second argument is expensive rent prices. But do you think Americans are homeless? They have their houses like people in Russia. Russians just don't know what kind of bums they are.
I would say that Russians, thinking Russians, that won fascism, read classic literature, history; musicians, scientists are not those butchers which enjoy watching their soldiers kill Ukrainian civilians, including children. In their heads lives the greatest plan of their government to which they limply succumbed, or they just were underhumans initially. I just don't believe that I had been taught by the same teachers as they had been (seems it's not the case).
Just mean and low, dorogie tovarischi.

Actually this war was a surprise to me. I'm sure that it was exactly so for almost all sane people who just did their job, lived their lives. Though, I know the reasons of this rapid-pace escalation. Turkish people are wise people. What can I say? Only the escalation could be rapid, to that former comfort we knew we won't be back soon. And this is a tragedy, not a comparable tradegy to Ukrainian nation's though, but the tradegy of forthcoming hatred, isolation and poverty. Well, I don't know if those who were already in poverty will be able to understand what happened. I want to believe in the best scenario, when Ukrainian and Russian people will smile at each other and firmly shake the brother's hand...

If that were the case don't you think every Swiss citizen would be billionaire ?
In Switzerland with the average salary it's also 100+ years. Switzerland is a bit better than France or Germany, but not so far ahead either. And taxes are like 40%.

The average salary in Switzerland is 60,600 CHF. That's approximately 60,600 * 1.08 = 65,448 USD/year. 1,000,000 / 65,448 = 15.279. Simple math. So, it seems that those numbers are close to reality.

Putin's approval ratings are increasing and are now at about 83%. For now TV is clearly winning the battle against fridge so discussions about the economy make little sense. But that's for now. Militaristic euphoria will end in a couple of months, same it was with other wars and other countries. And then, maybe, somebody would start to understand that the whole idea to invade another country was not so great. Maybe. However, the relations between Russians and Ukrainians will not normalize then. No, there will be no smiles or friendship, not after what was done. It's a generation problem, most likely even two or three generations.
It's funny how Putin was able to ruin everything so quickly. Convert a 40 million friendly country into the most hostile enemy. Talk about NATO concerns, give ultimatums and then get more NATO troops on Russian border, and bigger military budgets in NATO countries. Ruin the reputation of underperformed Russian army. Lose tens of thousands of Russian servicemen, if anybody cares about them. Leave the country sanctioned economically... Truly the greatest strategist of 21st century.

You are pretty far away from reality if you disregard taxes and cost of life. Dude I know, I lived and worked there for many years. After you paid the rent and all the taxes you barely have enough left with the average salary.
