While the attention is on Athimus and Bjorn, grabs the hand at his throat. In a blink, Madmartigan has the knife, and now it is the thieves life which is under the danger.

15% off? have you been reading the posts? first it was 10%. how can someone give you a discount (and even increase it) being so untrustworthy? OMG you people are really out-of-reality. If it were me I would've killed you and robbed you dude.Anyway, it goes like this.
Owner: YOU! You are Robinhood!! I know you! You have been long respected in our shadow theives guild and we admire your work! Can I have your Autograph?
Robinhood: Errr..sure! why not? But these are my friends and I beg you to forgive them. They may be rowdy and may tell bad offhand jokes, but they're really nice people. (glares at shadow_elf)

okae with that done, we continue with the journey to the basilisk's lair. Walking through the tunnels, you hear a soft wailing from deeper in the cave. As you journey deeper, you see pieces of uneven and queer looking rock here and there, scattered on the floor. The wailing is louder, and as it grows louder with each step closer to the lair, larger and larger pieces of rock can be seen, until it occurs to you that all these are parts of petrified creatures. Soon you see complete statues of humanoids and lesser creatures, and the wailing stops abruptly
A soft hissing prompts you to draw your weapons in preparation of what is coming

Sorry I didn't realli see that, but charm person the spell
1.)Cannot be used by you as you are a specialist mage dealing with the arts of invocation, and you cannot learn opposition mage school spells, which is enchantments/charm.
2.)Okay so charm can work, the person remebers everything that has occured during this charm period and the spell wears off real quick. By the time you return, he would have regained his memory and...nobody likes to be charmed.
3.)This is a store. Hopefully if you don't mind, stores cannot be altered in any way except for your charisma and reputation. That is the only thing that can effect store prices.
4.)Halflings are resistant to charm spells did you know that? He had a good chance to save vs. spell.
Sorry never explained more, but now you know. No hard feelings?

I might have an excellent idea
Madmartigan explains his 2nd plan quickly:
We need to find some white powder. Flour maybe. We all will paint ourselves to white pretending to be statues, petrified by the basilisk. Tuapui will draw him to a narrow tunnel. When that basterd passes us, into the narrow tunnel, we all will atatck together. Narrow tunnel will - hopefully- prevent it manouvering, and returning to us.

AND it is not a medusa which turns to stone by looks. Basilisk has to bite in order to petrify.

Bjorn grabs hold of the dragon flying in mid air, and stuffs it in the donut bag.
Tuapui:
"Lemme go Lemme GO!!"
The hiss grows louder, and amidst the din the sharp hissing can be heard, making everyone grow silent
MadMartigan:
"QUICK! Get out of here! He might not follow us if we go fast enough! AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!"
Everyone dashes back to the halfling community, and upon reaching Athimus slams the door behind him.
MadMartigan:
"Okay people, we need some powder that'll make us look like stone. Do you have any flour?"
Mark: (ROTFL)
"HAHAHA you people are hilarious, so willingly accepting the challenge and then all of a sudden appearing here asking for flour! You guys suck!"
Tuapui:
"There! You can use him as bait instead! Lemme go!"
Mark:
"Gulp...What? Bait? What are you talking about?"
Everyone in the tavern laughs, and the owner walks up to Martigan.
Owner:
"Yes we have flour, and we have bait too." *another round of laughter* "You will have to turn him back if anything bad happens of course, and well, with Robinhood around you, I guess that basilisk wont be much of a problem."
Robinhood: (whispers to Bjorn)
"I'm realli not that good...but this ain't a good time to tell of my fake exploits right?"
Mark:
"You...you...you don't want me...I taste real bad and I am real skinny and I don't have much meat..."

Mad: No. You stay. A dragon statue flaying in the air would not look very realistic, right? (to Mark) Now, you tough guy, will lead him to the narrow tunnel which is 10 meters to the right. First, we will go and become statues on the corner. All you have to do is make it chase you and not look at it. (everbody remains silent. Tuapui flies to the ceiling murmuring something noone can understand.)

Mad: Good Lord. I hope this works.
(When they reach the corner they all stand still as statues. And several seconds later the basilisk is sighted - about 20-30 meters ahead)
Mark throws a stone towards the basilisk. The creature grumbles and begins to run toward Mark. Mark heads for the right of the tunnels as he was told.
When the basilisk reaches the corner stops and looks at the side where Mark had fled. He waits a little before heading after Mark. The turns left and begins to run after his victim.

Well, their bite is poisonous, but their gaze petrifies. It seems it might vary from different legends and mythology, but basically in AD&D it happens to.
