Poor Animals
I knew about animal cruelty before.
But I was amazed to find out the facts!!!!
It's really horrible!!!
Here it is:
Over 125,000,000 mice and rats...
Over 1,000,000 guina pigs...
Over 125,000,000 rabbits...
Over 360,000 Dogs...
Over 200,000 Primats...
Over 125,000 cats..........
And all of them were killed in labortories!!!
I'm shoked how people can be so cruel!!!
Animals are used as models for research into human diseases, injuries, psychology, and medical treatments. In biomedical research, scientists attempt to circumvent the natural differences between humans and other animals by unnaturally infecting them with human-specific diseases with the hope that they will suffer in the same way a human would. The fact that scientists have to induce or create disease in other animals indicates that animal models are neither appropriate nor applicable in studying human disease or other ailments.
In developing new genetic engineering technologies, biomedical researchers acknowledge common occurrences of increased suffering, high death rates, and other negative health consequences for the millions of animals used. Tens of thousands of animals, such as pigs and non-human primates, have been killed to try to produce cells, organs, and tissues for transplantation into humans
I just want people to be aware as i am...

Humans are varied, whilst some are capable of great cruelty, there are also those capable of great kindness. A friend of mine once took in a young kitten who had been dumped on a motorway hard shoulder in a bag. He found out the vets bills for the cat would be a few hundred quid (it had pretty severe problems when it was born, the cat never walked properly ever), pretty much at that time a months wages. He spent it though and kept the cat for years till it died a while back.
For every bastard scientist like them there, there's a person like my friend. A word of caution though, whilst genuinely upset at their treatment, the simple fact is many of our medicine, our science and other things rely on animal testing. Most of us are reliant on these just enough that we do not wish to know how the science came into being, we just want the use of the latest cure. It's sad what happens to these creatures, but animal testing is also unfortunately an inescapable side of science.
After all, pretty much the only serious scientific experiments carried out on humans are from the holocaust. Most of our space race knowledge on items such as pressure, severe tempreture comes from the likes of mengele. It never stopped the US from employing these same scientists, or Von Braun, head of a labour camp were 20,000 died under his rule.
Reality means they have to be tested on something, our own personal survival and overall morals of the state say testing on humans=evil, testing on animals=acceptable evil. All attempts to find other testing methods should be investigated, and efforts should be made to ensure animals are kept in good conditions, but the simple truth is, animal testing is a necessary evil. The alternative is either no or little progress..... or science based on slaughter of humans.

Old Timer: No they dont do the same, the state of our... sorry of the world is the proof of that the human is the only animal of brake the balance of the nature. And wen the animals adopts other animals(this maybe is extrange but it exist) them dont "live him sleeping out" or "give to him special-food for pets" or "dont leave it eat in the table".

See, There is no justice in the world!
The strongest survive and the weakest dies,
But why does it have to be like this, why can't we live together with our brothers(animals) in harmony and peace?

Cloning
Cloning may soon change all this "evil". Once our ability to clone humans become more advanced, we may be able to create humans solely for the purpose of testing. That way, it not only benifits animal lovers, but it also saves some complications between mice and humans. Though simmilar, we are very different from mice. Some experiments (Not many, but some) have worked on mice but not on humans.
However there will always be some animal testing. A group of scientists are working with a naturally mutated mouse with a resistance to cancer. They have bred a colony of these special mice now, and have injected some of them with half their body weight of tumour cells, and the mice STILL resisted the cancer. I don't know what you guys think, but there must be some weird thing going on with these mice's immune systems.

Yes & the sad thang is that some of us even in here have hatred towards certain animals, they love hunting & think it's so fun killing living thangs.
You know it's up to us to make sure all animals are safe like trees even etc.
Some just never gave a thought how any sort of living thang feels.
Really sad but cant change a person they way they really feel.

Go to a hospital. Go to every single person there and tell them that you'd rather have them die than a rat. Hell, go throw red paint on them and call them animal killers because it's demand for cures that drives research on animals.
There is the occasional "bastard scientist" as PH put it, but in general, nobody wants to do the experiments on animals. They are done because they are necessary to save human lives. Faced with a decision between one kid with leukemia and a thousand rats, I'd side with the kid every single time. Anybody who says that mouse models and experimentation is unnecessary to develop new therapies knows diddly over squat about science.
Of course, the cosmetic industry is something completely different. Feel free to throw red paint on them.

Clones:
Interesting, soul or not, clones exist, they will I'm guessing have the capacity to think and live a normal life. Therefore there's no real difference between testing on them, and testing on humans. Ethics means that if you create a copy of a human, no matter how, that clone is still human as such. Therefore the argument that testing is good on them is morally doubtful.
Bort: Yeah sorry, knee jerk reaction, I should of, like you differentiated between unessecary treatment for cosmetics and necessary, though I did add that science and we NEED animal testing.
