Why was my Essay thread removed?

Do you wan't to encourage Racism? Do you wan't to ruin our fun? Is it my fault that people tried to ruin the thread? And there was positive feedback, so it isn't a one man show.
You are all trying to get to Tavern to be alive again, and then you throw away a potential thread? Everyone might not see the good in it, but that's their problem, NOT mine.
So get on that *** ***** *** VW express, and turn it backwards.

I find it hard to understand that while you can so 'eloquently' demand for the essay to be returned to Tavern, you say your English isn't good enough to translate it.
The board language is English after all, and the other comments by members are about whether Data from Star Trek is a woman, whether he's in Star Wars and the merits of the Danish language over the Norwegian one.
No move at all has been made to enlighten the rest of us as to the contents of the essay.
So I am gonna go with my gut instinct and leave it in Wastelands.
However
If you feel that strongly about it then maybe you should at least try and translate it.
If you think it's a good essay we should get the gist of it even from a slightly off translation.

Maybe it's an english board, but we've got loads of people who aren't english, or american. Paladin also answered, and he liked it, and he understood it, and he will probably translate it when he gets the time. But dumping a potentiel thread in the VW isn't fair, dumping something that hasn't even seen that light? No Fair..
Give it time, it'll bloom. It just needs a bit of time..

RealDeal, you have to understand that because HC is an English speaking board - we have English speaking moderators. As mods, we're just not able to review the content of threads/posts that we cannot read, and as such we would be risking allowing offensive/not allowed content to reach the board .
I'm not suggesting that your post is at all in breach of the CoC - but I hope this helps you to understand why posts in other languages aren't treated the same as English ones.

Since Shiva is willing to talk to you in IM can you please keep this personal issue there?
A message like this is so very negative and just leaves a bad feeling for everyone who reads it - regardless of it they are involved or not. As you know, I do not agree with your feelings on this and I just can't believe you did the favourtism thing again Regardless of that tho, we are trying to focus on improving the tavern, flames and disrespect just don't send that message.
I am asking that you please edit this last post of yours out, and I hope that you and Shiva can find a peaceful resolution to this clash you're having.

concerning my penalty
As you might have noticed i have not even made an attempt to dispute it else than i thought calling shiva a new member was ridicioulus.
The penalty itself has nothing to do with me and pan except that she has sent me directions in one direction and then acted in another. Which was the catalyst as ive learned she has done the same in other aspects of discussions aswell.
So angelito before you once again jump the gun calling it lame try and realise what the post is about. This is the 2nd time you fire away as fast as a co moderators decision/manners is being critised.
Im getting alittle fed up with that now, but ill try and give you another advice.
you became a moderator because obviously the mod squad thought you had a mind of your own and entusiasm to improve this place.
But.. if you keep jump to conclusions in defence of mods each time a mod issue is at surface here it will lead to 2 things:
1) the members will concider you a "yes sayer" that has no will on his own and does everything to try and fit in.
2) the mods will get bored of you as people who always agree gets when they never bring any thinking aspects on their own.
united modfront or not, making no thinking stances will only make others lose confidence in you.
and i still have some for you, but this was the 2nd strike angelito... dont make it a 3rd.
As for the "earning" part in general of a penalty/bonus i find it ridicioulus at this board as not many mods show to be objective.
Then its ridicioulus because "earning" then gives them the space to basically do whatever they like, without having to point at anything particular except refer to that the penalty/bonus was "earned".
The fact that this system doesnt work was made clear already in the motor/andi days as they werent wanted here to say the least and any indication of harsh language led to a penalty.
As a matter of fact i think we are the only ones so far that has "earned" penalties. Out of my 3 two now has been "earned".. the 3rd was given for calling a moderators reasoning "stupid"... Andi and motors were given "earned" penalties for miscensoring words etc.

As for the "earned" bonuses, these are usually the signs of favouritism. Or friendly QP's as you might wanna call them... RSF has atleast stood up for that his given em.
So basically.. these "earned" bonuses/penalties... the bonuses goes to them you like (read: friends) and the penalties goes to them that you dont like (read: not friends).
The idea of earning penalties/bonuses is good in theory, but when it adapted to these proven consequences it just seems more of a tool for the moderators to get their will through and not be able to get critism for it.
Now with that said and been critising the system and angelito in the same post... remind me not to miscensor any bad language as that would end up in another one of those "earned" penalties

Thats a pathetic Speech Stiven, you were always bad at acusations.
There will always be favortism, no matter what.
A mod favors thier friends on here & I dont have many friends on here at all.
Andi & Motor were hated by most mods, even Kitten had an adventure in trying to ban them for yrs & also ROmana & Hexa.
I dont agree with alot they did, trying to get Hexa to quit etc.
I still rememeber that crap you pulled with Romana & now your pulling it again over acusations.
You think your the tight stuff, then you can be tight all you want in youre own world.
You always been a mod hater
Deal with the QP like I do & Andi/Motor did.
Your not related to Sox fan are ya
Yall always like to whine about a -QP & it was deserved.
Be quite, move on & lets improve this place.
You do dwell on the past too much, you want Andi & Motor back, Rychenroller etc.

Aculias, You know that I appreciate your coming to my defense, you've always been the type that will stick up for friends no matter what
However in this case, I do not want any flame wars to continue. Sir Stiven has made it clear that he does not wish to speak with me about our personal differences, so IMO this whole thing with him is finished. I will not be a part of airing personal garbage on the board, I feel that its negativity is only harmful and as I mod I am to prevent that, not be a part of it.
Don't worry that I'll leave, my commitment is to this message board its members, the mods, and Valera - and that commitment is something I don't take lightly, and will not break over one lost friendship.
As for the issues here, Sir Stiven has as much right to voice his concerns as any other member.
On a positive note, it looks like RSF's idea has taken off with a vengeance! Great stuff!
Let's hope the HC Olympics has the same kind of success

Could it be you mix up two different things here?
My IM i sent ya had nothing to do with the penalty given to you from Pan, the IM was even sent some days before and referred to your behaviour against the member ZSA in a library thread (where i am a moderator..). So i thought you got my point about "treating" other members the way u do, but some days later you made your penalized post against Shiva.
Thatīs why i wrote my statement in this thread as well, but my opinion , as i said, was also given to you before this penalty. Just keep that in mind.

Sorry to hear that Stefan, but iīm not here to please everyone, but to watch out no1 breaks the CoC. If someone does (and u did, u know it very well...), then iīm "allowed" to make a comment about that. I wonīt comment these statements, coz iīm pretty sure you are standing alone with that opinion.....and iīm also very sure iīm far away from being a "yes-sayer". I think your "niveau" is much higher than that...donīt try it on this level...

And about the confidence.....i think there is at least one thing we have in common...i always talk honest....i hate lying....so when i post something here, i always mean what iīm saying. And i surely donīt "jump in" only to defend someone, but i post, coz i guess (hope)i can achieve something with that post. To make something clear, or to make someone think about his "behaviour"....thatīs the reason...nothing else..
But if you canīt stand that Stefan, then i feel sorry, but your "warning" will not prevent the next time when i think i have to say something.

For this point, i can only speak for the library. I have given 3 or 4 +qp in the library so far. All where very good stuff and valuable for the library in my eyes. Hadnīt heard any complaints about them. But exactly coz of the fact +qp could be very subjective, iīm always waiting for some users to tell me which threads/posts could be rewarded in their eyes (library feedback!). Then i wait for some opinions of other members and after a while i decide to give out a reward or not. But to let that system work, much more members should give their opinons about the nominated threads (you can also give a comment though..)
Hope i made some points clear now....so letīs go on with the good things..

I wasnt talking about no IM.
I was talking about the part in your post when you jumped the gun accusing me of attacking pandora for doing her job - when as stated ive not disputed the penalty itself but her two faced actions.
No "yes sayer" huh? lets see.. there has been two disputes:
first you jump to the defence of other side mods right away after the penalty has been given (later removed).
then you jump out here thinking im attacking pandora over the penalty, which you still havent seem to understood is the case
two disputes - two united modfront statements - two yes sayings - no knowledge whatsoever in whats happening
no "yes sayer" huh? seriously, you go saying yes more then they do in a bad porno movie...
As for the "earning part" you dont seem to have understood one point i tried to make so... maybe you just should stop trying

I'd like to point out that I was more inclined to look to give a QP, but I did that anyway for everyone in the Glade. I simply did not give out many QPs in Tavern as that is a bit more complicated.
As for myself giving out bonuses for favoritism. Favoritism did not decide whether or not I gave the QP. The one or two bonuses that could be considered favoritism, no one ever complained about or pointed out that QP isn't legit. I still feel that they were well deserved. I'd also like to say that I gave QPs in Glade to members I didn't like as well.
As for penalties. Nope. Didn't happen. I gave out very few penalties. I should have given out more. And no I didn't give them out for reasons of not liking that person.
I often find that moderators go against their feelings of favoritism. The moderators really take far too much heat over this when it simply does not exist. You simply don't realize the pressure of this job. One small screw up and you get pages of ridicule. If you try to do your job and give someone a penalty, you get tons of ridicule. If you give someone a QP and not everyone likes the post, you get tons of ridicule. I even got ridicule for asking the members of the community what they wanted. I would really like to see Sir_Stiven get elected as mod for a couple months, so he can forever shut his mouth.
Man I just remembered how much I hated being mod.

AH come on Sox, you should of listened to me that mod is a curse just like being the HC in toh lol.
The flame war has already started Pan, hes attacking you,Angelo,old Mods & heck might as well mention every other mod & I think I know why.
Hers Jealous, he wants to be a mod lol.
I did to at some point but I think I may be cursed with it because I be darn if I play favourtism like every other mod does from present & past.
