Ah I see the problem, thanks to another Mod. *sighs* Guess I have to explain myself, again, though I am not sure why. Never have I, nor will I, give QP because I agree with somebody. Nor penalties just because I disagree with somebody. There are posts that I have absolutely disagreed with that I have given QP for. Heck, I've even complained that people are given special treatment because they are 'liked' (ie not penalized when they should be), or penalized because they are not 'liked'.
Guess no matter what I do or say, however, I've already been categorized and peoples opinions are set.
Don't worry, message received.

And what's "Message received" even suppose to mean? I asked you some questions and I'd love an answer or two if possiple. I wasn't secretly hinting at something or trying to tell you you shouldn't give Mvass QPs because I don't like his pillar theory. Mvass summerzies it best: Quote:

Thank you for saying what you did again. Hearing it for the second time in prettier words has finally made me understand.
Excuse me I have to go and find the brilliance I first missed in mvass post, that spark of originality that must be in there somewhere I'm just not trying hard enough to see it because I'm secretly insecure and think mvass has a bigger pillar (yeah right lol) intellect than me ergo I subconsciously resent him and my brains shuts out all possibility of his posts bein QP-worthy.

Yes, Azagal, sarcasm helps. I am trying to understand, I am. I'm trying to explain, but apparently failing.
I've asked the other mods opinion, and will abide by it. I can't put in words why I liked that post, so I can not defend my decision.

Do we still really care for QPs that much?
I mean, ok, they're this place's trademark, but more in a traditional than a "you gave him a QP and I think you shouldn't have and I hope you get AIDS" sense.
Just hand one out to OhForF since he deserved it, and I will try to use all my confidence to hide the fact that I haven't read a word of that thread, and let's move on. This place isn't here for us to be mean to each other but to watch JJ and Elodin hurl vegetables at each other.

Entirely my fault, I am a poor communicator. I got defensive, and shouldn't have, because I was a little frustrated at the appearance that I can not do anything right.
Some of the answers were not directed at Azagal, though they appeared to be. I was trying to answer others also who seemed to believe the QP was only because I agreed with the post. It also seemed to me a bit contradictory to me that I was being asked to understand Azagal, but when trying to explain was not given the same in return. Again, for which I apologize.
I do go on 'qp' sprees sometimes. Not often, but quite a few are given out when I go on these sprees, I am sure not everybody will agree with them all. I realize I can not explain WHY I like some post, no more then I can explain why I like The Chronicles of Thomas Covent (spelling) The Unbeliever. I've tried, but it seems futile.
It seems I am always on the defensive, and it gets old. It comes across that no matter what I do, I will be in the wrong. So I came across as if I just shrug everything off now, in pure defensive mode. Which is far from the case. HC is like a home to me, and I have (and still do) want to try to improve it, but I am just not doing it justice. I don't know what to do, or how to change this seeming perception of me..and the frustration is apparent.

Mythy, you need to realize that you're moderating a non-video-game subforum on a video-game message board, you sometimes hand out pixelated red stars when a post is cool, and you're taking all of it a bit too seriously.
And the fact that other people are also taking it too seriously is absolutely no excuse.

Eh, I thought the QPs were given for general efforts to OSM (lol), rather than the posts themselves.
Afterall, in a forum riddled with hatetirades and all sorts of bile and acridity, it is hard for one to make consistently good, well-reasoned posts without losing your cool. It's kinda heroic and fool-hearty and admirable in a minor way.

Was a bit of Column A, less Column B. Sometimes I think we don't give out enough of them personally..so I tried try to rectify the situation..especially in threads that have not degenerated.

It's called "cognitive inertia": once opinions are formed and trust is lost, that's a hard thing to change. Sometimes change is impossible.
EDIT: Although, to be fair, I don't know what all the fuss is about. You'd think we'd want to encourage more QPs here. I don't think complaining over an alleged questionable QP is going to help in that regard.
