No, Ubi only gave 4 names.
Balor - the spiky monster in the back
Succubus - obvious
Nightmare - ditto
Demon - I'm guessing the red creature with the fiery back.
I still hold that the big guy is an enemy hero, though given the fact that Fabrice said there'd be at least 130 creatures in the game due to upgrades etc it could be something else.

Even though I'll end up buying this when it comes out just out of curiosity, I don't like these screenshots. They look so much like the graphics from Warcraft, a game which I have never liked, partly because of the graphics.
I guess my only hope is for Heroes to stay in combat. Have they ruled on that yet?

My thoughts exactly.

They decided heroes would not take part in combat like in H4, but would be more involved than in H3. A pity.

But they are basing the combat grid on the HOMM 3 style rather than HOMM 4.

the only reason im gonna buy heroes is on the basis that its heroes. the fact that 3do can no longer so the game just means a bit of differnce to the way we expected it to be if 3do had done it. when ubi had bought the rights to heroes, it wouldnt mean they wanted the game to crash and burn but to be very popular and a great game to direct us to other ubi games, ergo increasing their popularity among us here at heroes community.
i dont think many people will disagree with me here

We all agree to that, but that doesn't mean that if the company wants to make a good game it will automatically do so... I bet Marx & Angels had some very good intentions..... [russians please don't read the following] but give a good idea to the russians and they will spoil it
Also, I don't intend to buy it. Just play the demo for 10 minutes and see if it attracts me. I might even consider getting it pirated No way I'm gonna pay 50 bucks for it. With 50 bucks I can get myself the whole collection of H1,2,3,4 on E-bay.

Yo, Hydra!
Wassup? You good?
Hi, Vlad. Don't know if you remember me, but we stood shoulder to shoulder on the barricades the last time (before HOMMIV) and here we are again.
Though I'm mostly psyched because a new HOMM game is actually on the way (when I had given up on the franchise), the screenshots put things in perspective a bit.
It's not the quality of the graphics that annoy me, but rather the fact that they seem to be giving in to the current manga fad. These creatures look like anime hooked up with transformers to make HOMMV.
I would prefer the style of that modern fantasy dragon of yours, Gerdash.
I have to go now, work's over. Post more later. This kinda made my day, even though it's bad good news.

Hey, DonGio, of course I remember you.... is't time to ride into battle with me again, he? well, just like before, the battle has already been lost. But we do it for honor, right? If I sound too much like Lord of the Rings, please stop me ...
It's always good to see I share opinions with one more person.
Now about the larger picture: very nice that face (hmmm...) but it's just one of the many thousands of modern monsters that one might imagine. Too bad that they use mythological names on contemporary figures.
And if I look under that face I see two big, square, ugly paws. How about those?
edit: I've installed the demo of Etherlords2 and played (or at least tried to, it's not very intuitive) it for about 10 minutes in a duel. I can say it looks identical to the 3'rd screenshot - meaning the one above. So anyone who wonders how a battle will look like in H5 please try a little E2 demo and imagine a hero somewhere in the corner. Needless to say that creatures from E2 and H5 look like two drops of water in the same ****. I guess this is my latest assumption....

The Succubus' wings do look messed at first, but if you imagine that they are at the height of a flap and that they will turn as they come down it does make sense.
And what like 2 pages almost of an argument over the design of a creatures sword? Seriously.
But I see nothing wrong with it, it seems as though you could take an almost chainsaw-like approach with two hands on the ring, and it looks cool which is all that matters.

looks like some more shots
http://www.ag.ru/gallery/12013
doesn't look too bad except for the abovementioned problems:
(1) blowing the feet so large seems useless. new human footsoldiers just look more cumbersome and the griffin looks as if it just arrived from disneyland because of that. it's hard to do proportion distortions because you should get a harmonous picture in the end, i think distortions to this extent are a useless effort.
(2) knight still looks like a pile of separate pieces of armor rather than a knight. from this point of view the new humans on foot look bit better imho.
(3) and those thorny remnents of upside down wings on the demons -- what's the point?

Yeah, whats up with that?
Although it was, at the time, a great find Gerdash!
The huge demoness, as well as the foot soldiers looked a bit dodgy, but considering most of them are just normal troops the graphics are pretty good. Compared to other similar troops in other games anyway. I thought the Crusader looked especially good.
The resources are much bigger too, that mine is huge!
It looks as though you can rotate the camera point of view, in some its side on, some birds eye and others in between, maybe like in Rome Total War.

Seen the new 6 screenshots?
The Hero, archer and some other units look cool.
The Cruisaider/Paladin I'm not satisfied with..Not enough UMPH..

Thanks for the new link!
I'll put them up here:
Looks like same hero, cool mine though. I think that looks like a good way of implementing the resources.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hmm... looks like you can zoom in as well. Both those creatures look a bit dodgy, almost too cartoon-like.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Same hero, new scenery.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now this is more like it! Very heroes looking, the normal battle scene. Confirms my rotating camera angle/ zoom theory. The archer looks cartoon-like, but the rest look good.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice hero. The cartoony soldiers seem quite different from the previous games. Eh... you can see the resemblance with the Archer/HOMM3 Marksman.
Note the dwelling in the background. Seems kind of like a peasant hut, and a mushroom ring for pixies or something?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great shot. Like the paladin. Look at the detail in the background!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They look pretty good to me, especially Heroes' signature lush environments.

If things are as you say, and you get the possibility of zooming, why do they keep posting zoomed-in screens? I want to see how it looks zoomed-out. All I've seen looks like a a third-person shooter to me. No map, no hex grid, no nothing. What possible explanations do you find for showing screens that are not halmarks of heroes?

Good question Vladpopescu.
There seems to be a resemblance to how the combat and adventure map looks. So perhaps the two share the same graphics/graphics engine? (are zoomed versions of each other)
Also notable is the fact that there is no numbers by the stacks or even an indicator to which faction they belong. Almost makes me wonder if stacks has been ditched. (Though i think it was said that stacks still exist.)
