Back again
If she was not dead, there would be no need to investigate further. Perhaps she had been shot with a camera or a needle, in the correct temple of worship, before the robbing? It said she had been shot. Perhaps, when you were investigating, she had been shot by a camera in the correct temple yesterday, which would mean nothing to you.
Well, it's worth a guess in this tournament anyway.

Ah, ok, it was a photo of the late Mrs. Peterman. She died by a shot to the right temple, but was not in the room, therefore no reason to arouse suspicion by the detective.

I think the detective went over the bedrooms because they are localised in the house exactly adiacent to the temple and no one can enter from the windows without being seen.
In addition I think that if the wife is dead from a lot of time there's nothing interesting to be stealed in her room.
You write David went down so I deduce his house has 2 floors. David implies robbery has done at the superior floor. So Reb didn'asked anymore.

I suppose that Gary eats reading.
Each leaflet has 2 pages on it. So the worm can eat them after scanning them 2 times.
Let's suppose this thinks:
- pages have these dimensions L (orizzontal)*B (vertical)
- Books has the same number of pages (same thickness)
- leaflet has height 7*2/(n° of pages).
- pages has all x rows
- Gary eats 1 row a time.
- there are 1 extra row above and below text to read.
In each page Gary travels: (Hp: even to read Gary has to travel)
(x+2)*L + B (orizzontal and vertical movements)
In each book:
[(x+2)*L + B]* [7cm*2/n° of pages]
You says he eats during eating: I suppose Gary doesn't eat copertines so he travels 1/2 cm for cover.
Total movement for covers: 1/2 + 2 +1/2 = 3 cm
Total movement for pages: [(x+2)*L + B]* [7cm*2/n° of pages]* 4 books.
So to have a numerical solution we need more informations about the size of the book!

Lol...just imagine a bit better.
The first page of a book in a shelf is on the right site, coz u see it from the back. Same goes for the last page of book 4...it´s on the left site!
So u have:
- one cover of book 1 = 0.5 cm
- 2 books (no.2+3) completely = 16 cm
- one cover of book 4 = 0,5 cm
Total = 17 cm

He just took his own horse into the calculation, so there have been 18 horses.
Half of them to the oldest daughter = 9
1/3 to the second daughter = 6
1/9 of them to the youngest daughter = 2
Makes 17 in summary and he could take his horse back and ride away

Hanz will still be the winnner.
If he ran 100 m in the same time as Frank ran 95 m, he ran 1,0526 times faster then frank.(100/95)
In the second race, when Frank will cross the 100 m finish line, Hanz has already ran 105,26 m. (100*1,0526)He started 5 m behind the original starting line, so he still we be 26 cm in front of Frank...

Hanz has a velocity v1 = 100/t1
Frank has a velocity v2 = 95/t1
Frank finishes the race in the time t2 = 100/95 *t1
Frank wins the second race if Hanz during the time t2 runs less than 105 metres.
The space runned by Hanz is (100/t1) *[(100/95)*t1] = 10000/95 = 105,263 m.
So Hanz wins again

i have no idea what you said angelito or mystic eyes, but here is my answer
let x be the amount of time it took hanz to reach the finish line in the first race
hanz has the ability to run - 100m/x secs
frank has the ability to run - 95m/x secs
hanz now starts 5m behind the start line, meaning he starts at -5m while frank starts at 0m
in x sec frank is at 95+0 = 95m
in x sec hanz is at 100+-5 = 95m
considering they have not yet reached the finish line and hanz can run faster and they are now at the same distance from the end, if they have a constant speed hanz will win.
