There was a friend of mine who was overweight. He decided to lose that weight and he needed my help. He said that to succeed he would need a book on fitness do i went to library to help. I didn’t have a card so i snuck out a book that said "how to jog" on its spine and ran. After losing the library police i went to my friends house to give him the book. He then looked at the book after he finished watching the simpsons and found out that the book had nothing to do with fitness. What kind of book was it?
i did a spell check for duncos benifit and call the guy john doe again

the book was about how to jog your memory but when you looked at the spine the part that said "your memory" was covered by that little lable the library puts on their book to classify it (NFS 823.34, FIC HOL etc)and therefore you couldnt read that part that said "your memory" so you accidently stole the wrong book?
So therefore the answer is the book is about how to jog your memory?

you got and encyclopedia, the encyclopedia listed all the subjects from the word "how" all the way to "Jog"
therefore my answer is the book was an encyclopedia containing all the entries from "how" to "jog"

jog can also mean to move by an object by bumping etc
so the book was on moving stuff around

when i purchased a new parrot the salesmen said that it would repeat any word it heard. after a week i came back complaining that the parrot hadnt spoken a word of english. giving that the salesmen had spoken the truth about the bird, why wouldnt the bird talk?

an ordinary ship pulled over next to a man who was waving, john his name. the sun was hot and a detective, reb forr, helped the hot and perspiring john aboard. he begged for water. john downed several glasses of water, 8 to be exact, and recounted the last 7 days. "James and i were fishing 7 days ago when our little boat and everything on it went dead. we ran out of water about 72 hours ago. my friend hal started to drink sea water to the tune "water water everywhere, so lets just have a drink" but went crazy. he went below to check if anything still worked but when coming up the ladder he lost his grip and fell taking a severe wack to his head. he died."
Forr examined the bosy and said "yep, this guy died from a good ol' wack to the noggin. but on ur account john i think he was murdered."
why?

If they had run out of water 72 hours ago, then Jon wouldn't still be sweating. If someone didn't drink water for three days and was exposed to the hot sun, they would not be able to sweat anymore. He killed his friend when everything went dead, so he would have all the water to himself and be able to survive longer until he was rescued.

there is a fountain with a tree growing at each corner. how would ut be possible to double the size of the fountain, but still keep it square without cutiing down ay of the trees? (see below image)

assuming when you say double the size you mean double the area and not double the dimensions:
turn the fountain so it is diagonal then expand the sides?
i dont know how to post pictures but pretty much i mean turn the fountain so there is one tree on each side rather than one on each corner hence allowing the fountain to be expanded to a certain extent
btw, u should really make ur diagrams to scale, the fountain in the pic isnt a square
edit: i just edited your picture to make sure my answer would work and it does. so dont say it wouldnt fit as i assume when you said double the size you meant double the area of the fountain not double the dimensions.

Laura was a travel agent and she sold me some tickets to fly to the swiss alps, where me and my wife were to do some mountain climbing. about 8 days later Laura was watching the news when a story of my wife aired. it showed how she fell to her death while trying to climb a cliff. i being the only witness explained that my wife hadnt properly secured her safety line and she then slipped falling to her death. Laura watch all this and was certain that i had murdered my wife. Laura didnt know either me or my wife. How could Laura be so certain?

laura can be certain because the husband bought the wife a one way ticket but bought himself a return ticket (i think its called a return ticket)
therefore laura can conclude that the husband was planning on murdering his wife all along from the fact that he didnot bother buying his wife a return ticket implying that she will not return (because she is gonna be murdered)

In order for two people to go mountain climbing alone, they must first start at the top of the cliff secure their safety lines and then repelling down. The safety line would have broken immediately while she was repelling down, not after doing all that first and then slipping and falling.
The husband climbed up the mountain quicker than his wife and then tampered with the safety line. Or tampered with the safety line to begin with and his wife would have plummetted when she began to repel down the mountain.
