No idea how - in HoMM2, they're lv6. In HoMM3, they're 7. In HoMM4, they're 4 I believe.

My favourites are Migthy Gorgons and Minotaur kings. Those two would be my favourites even without stats. There's something about that nasty bull image I find irresistable:-)
I like their awesome power. Just can't wait to see how many heads will fall when that awesome axe strikes! And, MGs... They are so, so strong!

Mighty Gorgons too, but I want to clarify a small error that everyone seems to make, it will make Mighty Gorgons seem weaker. The 10% chance death stare is not summative, that is, 10 Mighty Gorgons do not give you 100% chance to deathstare at least 1 enemy. It gives you about a 65% chance of success. In fact, to be within a 99% chance of deathstare effect, it requires 44 Mighty Gorgons. If you're wonder why, here is the math.
Each Mighty Gorgon has a 9/10 chance of failure. Thus, for 10 Mighty Gorgons to not death stare anyone, we have (9/10)^10 chance (its a probability fact that you multiply given independent exclusive events), which is about 35%, thus there is 65% chance of success. With 44 Mighty Gorgons, the chance of failure is (9/10)^44, about .9%.So you need 44 to be withing 99% chance of success with Deathstare
