Yeah, Shamans are so awesome. I love the way unupgraded ones say "Psyche!" (With echo) when they cast.
I love using "Fear my Roar" on an enemy shooter. They get afraid, and run. However, since they are as far back as they can go, they run forward leaving them as easy prey for your Wyverns.

Orcs seem to be very dependent upon their racial ability. About half of the Orc creatures are pretty weak compared to the other factions. Without Blood Rage, they would get their butts kicked.
Plus Kilghan looks a lot like General Chang from Star Trek 6.

Some changes to 2.1 (I don't know how things are in 1.5). I got everything from the GameMechanics/RPGStats/DefaultStats.xdb. Some can also be seen with the new skill wheel (see celestial heavens news)
-expert offense reduced to +15% damage
-starting resources for the easy difficulty have become higher from 20 to 25 rare resources, the player now gets 50k instead of 40k gold
-Guard Post: apparently the amount of defenders has been reduced by half (modifier 10 -> 5)
-Familiar Ground now adds 2 (!!) speed instead of 1
-the Suzerain specialty changed. I don't know what the values mean, however.
3.0 values
< <Base>1</Base>
< <LevelDivisor>3</LevelDivisor>
< <PerDividedLevel>1</PerDividedLevel>
2.1 values
> <Base>0</Base>
> <LevelDivisor>1</LevelDivisor>
> <PerDividedLevel>2</PerDividedLevel>
-Mark of the Necro gets nerfed a little. You get 1 Mana for every 75 hp instead of 50.
-for every level of Irresistable Magic the Elemental Chain damage increases by 10% instead of 5
-Banish is no longer based on percentages for banning a summoned creature, but does damage to them now
According to the skill wheel the damage is 10*(hero_level+summoning_mastery)
-there are changes for the Cavalry Commander special
3.0
< <CavalryCommander_JoustingBonus>0.1</CavalryCommander_JoustingBonus>
< <CavalryCommander_JoustingBonusPerLevel>0.01</CavalryCommander_JoustingBonusPerLevel>
---
2.1
> <CavalryCommander_JoustingBonus>0.02</CavalryCommander_JoustingBonus>
> <CavalryCommander_JoustingBonusPerLevel>0.02</CavalryCommander_JoustingBonusPerLevel>
I'm not sure what it means / too lazy to figure it out now
-the Spellpower of Deleb's ballista fireball has been reduced by 2
A few other things I noticed in the game:
-Seduced creatures retaliate normally can use spells abilities etc. e.g. seduced angels can resurrect demon troops!
-Pit Spawn's Axe of Slaughter indeed works against any number and thus has an enourmous potential against creatures with low hp
-thrown or eaten goblins can't be resurrected

Awesome research Dschingi, I like those.
Looks like I was wrong about the resurrection but it's no great loss since thrown, eaten, and sacrificed goblins are only in increments of 1 and you can easily have 400. Lil *** deserve it.

This is a review of my first impressions after playing on TotE Demo.
Gameplay:
Well, the system hasn't changed away too much. The pass from 1 upgrade to 2 upgrades is easy and clear. They didn't do it complicated. Both upgardes on the same building, and the choise of which is of them to choose is on a new little window - really simple, easy and comfortable. You can switch the upgrades via the upgrading screen on the town.
It's easy to see when neutrals on the adventure map are a group of different creatures or a single stack of creatures.
The only thing a bit weird is the Blood Rage points. The numbers of the Blood Rage mix together with the numbers of the killed creatures, and sometimes it's confusing, although the fonts and the colours are different.
Grade: 8 / 10
Design:
The game is very well designed. The Orcs look like true barbarian native creatures, evil and thirsty for blood and revenge. However, some of them are just not pretty. For example, both upgrades of the Cyclops just don't look well. The Wyvern and the Pao-Kai look almost the same (Pao-Kai is a bit more red and has a different fact) and they both don't look really good. The Warrior doesn't look good as well. Anyway, the rest of the creatures are well designed.
The Stronghold town looks great. You can really feel the theme and the atmosphere there. The buldings look very good, most of them are different kinds of tents, and buildings which are kind of temporary, like it should be on a stronghold.
The animations of the Orcs creatures are fantastic; The Shaman's spellcating, setting a snare by the Goblin Trapper, a Cyclops wallawing Goblins, etc. Everytime a creature gets to a new Blood Rage level (and gets a new bonus), there is a kind of red explosion around it, its avatar is blinks and a drop of blood appear on the the avatar. The concept of the blood is nice, but the explosion around the creature make it look like it's being hit.
Grade: 7 / 10
Orcs:
Playing with the Orcs is a pure fun. The creatures have so many interesting abilities, so wide tactical uses, and the faction is very well balanced. All the creature (except of the Wyvern and its upgrades) fit together and it's easy to create great tactical plans with thrm. The Blood Rage is suitable specially for every creature, and mostly adds missing things.
Goblins: Great as fodder unit. The regular Goblins are quite weak as creatures, can cheat on you, almost never retaliate, but their upgrades have a lot of HP, but still have low damage. The Goblins can be sacrificed, thrown or swallowed by friendly units. They have a lot of interesting tacital uses and they are never useless.
Centaurs: Excellent shooters. Come in large amounts for their power, and seem like an improved version of the Crossbowman. Their weakness is ofcourse their large size, which makes it easier to the enemy to block their range.
Warrior: They are actually not that strong for a level 3 creature, but quite useful in protecting on friendly units. They are used as assistors for heavier attackers on the army.
Shamans: Unique offensive casters. Their spells (Slow and Haste) are useful on the beginning of the battle, but the Shamans aren't great as attackers. It's better to upgrade them so they be able to be used as both attackers and casters.
Slayer: The most useful creature on the Orcs army. Good as an offensive unit and as a tank and come in huge amounts for their level (5 per a week, without growth boosters). The Slayer doesn't have a lot of HP, but it has the Cleave ability, what mean he almost always attacks twice.
Wyvern: Very dissappointing creature. I expected to see an interesting fast creature, with high iniative and speed, and low HP. What we got is a too slow creature with a lot of HP, and not very useful.
Cyclops: Very nice 7th level creature. Has a medicore power and can be used (like many of the Orcs creatures) as an offensive and defensive unit. Keep Goblins when you play with it - swallowing them and throwing them is very useful on certain conditions.
Grade: 9 / 10
Music:
The music of TotE isn't pefect, but it's much better than the music on HoF. The music on the Stronghold town really shows the concept and the theme, and sounds a bit thretening where it should be. However, on the main menu and the loading screen, the music is getting pretty annoying after a while. I shut down the loudspeaker while the game was being loaded.

I agree with much of genielord's post on the creatures. I was also disappointed by the wyvern/pao kai. Is it just me or is the venom pathetic? And the green one also loses the eat/ressurect ability.
Disagree on the cyclops. The upgrades are offensive forces. They can both hit multiple units and they are numerous and strong. Much better than the pao kai for their level.
The blood rage makes them competitive and playing the mission with a level 1 hero made me see that it may be possible to move fast at the beginning. I still I have my doubts about the factions competitiveness though...we'll see. No cleansing or even cleansing like approximation hurts.
Horde's anger is very fun at the start of a battle.

it does. 1 more tier 7 unit a week i believe. but its unconfirmed as far as im concerned.
Hell in a multiplayer battle if you let your enemy get 8 pieces of that artifact set you practically deserve to lose.
Btw more screenshots-
bit overpowered for only two artifacts

dschingi, the changes you noticed are indeed true. The changes related to skills and standard heroes specializations can be seen in Aurelain's skill wheels, as we worked together so that he can include these details from the manual directly into the flash wheels.
The Cavalry Commander Jousting bonus is now 10%+Level*1% (instead of (Level+1)*2%).

Now on to the demo review.Quote: This is a review of my first impressions after playing on TotE Demo.
Gameplay:
Grade: 8 / 10 is a bit unfair considering all the little improvements it got that enrich the gameplay. I never confused the blood rage points with something mainly because of the blood drop symbol
Design:
Personally I find the pao kais and foul wyvers awesome and as for the animation when a unit reaches the next level of rage.. You just feel the power surging through them
Orcs:
Not so sure about the faction being so balanced, at least early on. No rage structures and pathetic hp means losses you cannot avoid and they are not that damaging either. About the resources they have 2 structures required for capitol and castle respectively much like inferno's sacrificial pit...Unless you get the resources that can block your advance
Goblins are there for their upgrade really and for cyclopses
I fail to see the improved crossbowman reference for the centaurs.
Warriors are actually VERY good hitters although their stats don't show. Both upgrades have a good role to play.
As for the shamans I found them very good for attacking as long as they have enough rage to prevent losses. They can hit well with the hero's attack and are mobile.
You said it, slayers are the backbone of stronghold
Yes wyverns are not much fun but high hp and regeneration means a steal retaliation unit. Good damage as well and good upgrades.
Cyclopses are pretty much offensive.
Music
Well the H5 menu themes never really captured my attention but they kinda grow on you. This one didn't put me off to be honest.
