It does not retreat on the beginning of the battle, are you kidding me? It saves its main to avoid a humiliating loss which it would get every time - it's what made me get sick of single.

I have for some time But not all have a good connection and I'd expect a number of the fans do not even have a connection at home. It is for the sake of those people that H5 should have less issues in single.

Not to oppose you for all you say Doomforge But for me and lots of other peoplecan't always play multiplayer games. I like to play at my own rate - taking breaks whenever I like.
It is a simple task to mod this cowardly AI behaviour to how it was in 2.1, so it shouldn't be a broblem for all of us to get the Computer to play to our likings. On the other hand - I haven't seen a cure for stupid things as hiding in the castle for 90% of the game - which is just sad

Which is the reason I mentioned earlier that its vision is just at a particular battle, not at the war.
@Elvin: No my friend, sometimes it does flee before the first strike.
All in all, be it for single/multi, let's bear in mind that Nival had so much on its plate from graphics, storyline, factions development, AI etc. Pardon them for screwing up in some areas, it's still one of the best games in the world

I don't .
Point is, I like to "maximize" a map: explore every nook and cranny, visit every location of interest on the map, collect all treasures and defeat all Neutral stacks (as they usually block off map locations and/or items and resources) - did I mention I usually hate moonweeks that spawns new creatures? - and own every Town, Dwelling and Mine before I deliver the final blow that finishes a map.
Furthermore, I like to take my pace to build up a huge army that can steam-roll a map (while keeping enemy armies in check, that they don't grow to grotesque proportions - although Epic battles are fun ) - did I mention that I usually hate taking unnecessary losses? - and maximize my Hero.
You can't do such a thing in multiplayer, which is all about rushing, or countering a rush and then counter-rushing the enemy yourself, using whatever rag-tag army you have at that point.

You Said it - I guess lot's of players feel the same. There's nothing better than a huge map full of treasures and neutrals!

I too am not much of a Multiplayer (ok I've done it twice). Like a couple of the previous players I like to do things on my own time, at my own pace. Sometimes I even cheat and give the AI a HUGE advantage and try to struggle my way out (getting mauled lol). Nothing like making a random map and using the editor to give the AI a monsterous army instead of the army that the computer assigns it. Sure, I get squished into the ground, but maybe I will learn something from it .
Of course I like the choice of giving myself some 'bonuses' too. Especially if it is my first time on a map. Just to explore it. I'm also not very good. That is why I like playing Single Player. At least when I loose on 'easy' it's not quite as bad hehe (I like to experiment with skills a lot, and some combinations are just...BAD).

Quote: Can someone explain or better yet show us a screenshot of how the Flame Lords Flamewave ability works???
Below are 3 screenshots of the Flamewave in progress. I quote the manual here for details:
"Attacking an enemy, this creature has a chance to produce a fire wave dealing physical damage to all enemies in a random radius in the targeted direction.
The wave is a 5 tiles long cone, starting on the target tile and 9 tiles wide at its end. Each row receives less damage: with D as base damage, the n-th row damage is D/n, before applying the Attack/Defense modifiers."
D is the usual Flame Lord's damage against the target.
In the creenshots, on the left, you can also see the Lava Dragon's Liquid Flame Breath: 2 little flames appear when the Lava Dragon attack (on the 2 cells attacked) and last for 2 turns. They deal 10 damage per turn (at the end of the stack turn) per every Lava Dragon in the stack (here 30 damage).
Note that own troops can be damaged as well (and against a warlock, it can trigger the bonus elemental damage as though the enemy hero had cast a fire spell).

The red dragon activates his ability and does +50% damage to an adjacent target of his choice with no retaliation. The crystal one can hit from 1-5 targets but you cannot predict which will be hit after the initial target, pretty random It also works on retaliations.

That's "nos" you're referring to. He has the same user icon as Kraken, but I don't think they're the same person (at least not, when I check the post count).
