I was planning to make Gorgons but the textures need a lot of work, so for now it'll be Dragonfly Hives when I get round to it.

I was playing around too much with transparency and this happened... also parts of the actual texture need serious reworking.  After a while I got bored trying to restore it.

EDIT: and also, what do i need to do to "update" my framework from 1.0 to 1.1? do i need to delete everything or do i just need to replace one file? or is it already there and you just didn't want such a big rush by saying the limit is infinity?

To update to 1.1, you just have to
1. copy the new files
2. delete New_Creatures_Framework.h5u in UserMODs/

Sorry about step 2, I changed the name of the mod part to keep things better organized. It won't happen again in the future (hopefully).
Also note that UserMODs/NCF__DefaultStats.h5u is optional: you can remove it if you want to use an AI-tweaking mod, as there will be a conflict between them. (If you know what you do, you can of course merge the 2 files for yourself.)

thx sfidanza. i am just working out the stats for the Azure. should be done pretty soon.
EDIT: everything is ready i just don't know what file i need to put in the mod. it is obviously not just the texture and the .xdb. can anyone tell me what "type" should i put in? like there are 20 .xdbs about crystal dragon. i am not sure if i need all of them. and there are ones like "...-geom", the normal one, the one with "(Texture)" at the end. you know what i mean. can someone please clarify that for me? thx.
EDIT3: so Cep, are you making the gorgons still? 'cause if you got tired of fiddling with the textures i am soon done my Azure and can give that a try.

The NCF-based creature package should contain (assuming we work on Creature_100):

- main xdb file: GameMechanics\Creature\Creatures\Neutrals\Creature_100.xdb,

- CreatureVisual file in GameMechanics\CreatureVisual\Creatures\Neutrals\,

- Character file in Characters\Creatures\Neutrals\(creature_name)\,

- Arena Animations file, BasicSkelAnim files, Model, Material files, Texture files, textures themselves, Geometrics, Geometrics AI (i'm not sure about that but since it's linked in the geometrics file I put that too), Skeleton file. Most likely in the same folder as Character file.


- Icon file & icon itself, most likely in
Textures\Interface\CombatArena\Faces\Neutrals\(creature_name)\,

- script file
scripts\Creature_100.lua,

- Name & description in *.txt files most likely in Text\Game\Creatures\Neutrals\(creature_name)\,

- Camera file
Cameras\Interface\HireCreatures\Creature_100.(Camera).xdb,

- AdvMapObjectLink file
MapObjects\_(AdvMapObjectLink)\Monsters\NCF\Creature_100.xdb,

- AdvMapMonsterShared file in:
MapObjects\Neutral\.

+ icon files created by editor. I did not considered more advanced modding like adding effects or changing sounds here.

Links in red are placements and file names you cannot change.


I've also made a simpliest map that shows which files link which:

MapObjects\Neutral\ was made for neutral creatures and MapObjects\Neutrals\ was made for buildings. That's where you'll find the poor Firelake that was never completed by Nival. I'm using this directory for the neutral dwellings.
