The only totally seperate beta units I can recall are the Firebird and the Black Knight, which I believe are already included.  Any others that look different are already in the game, apart from units with revised textures or models.  So I don't really get what you mean either.

the reason why some creature creators just flood us with just recolored versions of creatures already in game is somewhere beyond my grasp.

Don't get me wrong, there are some cool creatures here: like the arcane blades or the basilisk, but it seems too much to me that there are alternate upgrades to neutral creatures and that there are so many recolored and imba "new" creatures.

Well sometimes quality is better than quantity.

Who sais we need another 200 neutrals each one with its alternate upgrade. If this mods adds 10 quality stuff I think it's a success already.

You need ideas for new creatures?  .  Check out the Collaboration pages or http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=24125 or even the My Stuff .  Or I can come up with a lot of more interesting creatures.  Lack of not uberpowerful ideas...I can do.

@okrane: I completely agree with you about quantity vs quality (and balance). Most of the creatures published to date are more than simple recoloring though: the texture editing is more subtle, with care for graphic details, and giving some unicity to the creatures. But as Radar pointed out, the geometry, skeleton and anims are still mostly locked, and this doesn't help.

However, the point of the framework is not to be a mod packaged with all published creatures, but to be a basis on which everyone can install his preferred creations. If your quality selection only consists in a subset of available creatures, that's perfectly fine, it's meant to give control to the player.

Can you please release more creatures?
I love allmost every creature that's done!
especially the new Angels and elemtals and wolves

And can someone make the Earth and Fire elementals uprgades?

You know like Energy elemental and maybe a Plasma elemental
And the Magma elemental + a errh somekind of metal elemental?


And erhmn i don'r know if its a bug or somethin, but i played with the tides elemental and it has the howl abillity as you know, but i had unlimited howls..

I think the other elementals are coming at some point. But, if you want more creatures you know what to do - learn how to make them yourself!

I'm working on it.

In fact Lava Elementals are already done, but I wait to finish the Immolation Elemental before uploading them.

I have trouble to have a fine texture with the second one.

sorry if i hurt ur feelings or sound negative, any idiot could do that by just using the textures of the lava dragon.you can just cut and paste and that texture will be done in 5 mins. i prefer more complexed ones. but the elemental is pretty good. just one question, is it an upgrade for the fire one or the earth one?

P.S. what texture are you having trouble with? i could possibly help. just tell me the name of the elemental, i'll figure it out lol.

It's not that easy, the .dds file of the fire elemental is a bit weird and it's quite difficult to find which part is joined with each other. And it was the first time I replace a texture by another, so I had to learn to use GIMP before I can do anything. And it's not only the lava dragon texture, I also change the color in some spots, so I have to be carfull to keep nice transitions.

I prefer it without the flame


For the immolation elemental, I want to make it the white-blue color of very hot flamme, and I have trouble to get the right color everywhere.

Yes, given my experience at trying to do this, I know that it can be tricky to actually completely redo textures - rather than recolouring and just editing little bits of it. It doubt it was a case of just copying the Magma Dragon texture straight over.
