Sadly that is the way it is. Governments go to war, and the ordinary citizens are the ones who die. You think if they had to go onto the front lines the leaders would declair war? Or if their children did? Sorry, wouldn't happen. Maybe a world wide 'law' should be put in place. "You declair war..you, and your entire family have to be in the front line." for all leaders...'politicians' and such. Would probably end war really really fast.

I don't think you can count Ossetia and Achatsia new countries, only because Russia accepted them as sovereign states.

The difference is that Osetia and Abhazia like Russia more that Georgia, but since georgia is in very good relation with the United States, The US Goverment (Why always the Goverment and the Nation are in conflict?!) wants to take those two countries for Georgia. The whole thing is that George Bush wants America to be Greater than Russia, Instead to be Equal to her. I can prove my words!

Well,the difference is tha think,georgia was stupid enough to be provoced by guerrilas but anyway.
Well,why not make the same thing as montenegro did?ppl complain about small countries being formed.They should better shut up,it should be done cuz of freedom and not interests.Ahh well,South ossetia wants to bind with russia now. Is this the aim of the war Russia started?
Yes,no independence war but occupation war.There are also soem other deatils but have not so much info for a land far away.
Oh and BTW,why should russia be equal to the US? USA is a superpower,Russia is far away from being a superpower,it lacks verything that can be defined as a superpower.

freedom? who freedom? is a freedom not an interst? I dont think russia started the war,but i do believ that russia 'pushed' just as much buttons as usa,to premote Ossetia to binding with russia.
