Well you got me. LOL Not the QP part (I’ve been here for too long to fall for that), but I had been HC weary for a while and felt Pan penalizing Ash was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back. I was very embittered and whipped up this rant but decided not to post it and take my toys and play somewhere else instead. LMAO I even sent a few goodbye notes to some people - sorry about the sob stories, guys!  Hadn’t I logged in to chat with Iris, I would have missed all the fun.
However, PartyPooper JollyJoker is right about one thing – not everybody has the same sense of humor, so here’s hoping Ash will forgive you for the “kick me” sign on her back. Had it been me, I would’ve pulled a Lexxan and talk smack like there’s no tomorrow. LOL
As for QPs I want a cookie for each of mine! No wait... LOL Like I said before, they are just small red gif files – but it works both ways, folks: if they don’t matter, why making so much fuss if you don’t have any?

What I REALLY start to hate is the way some people seem to be UNABLE to understand what someone writes - probably because they are intent on reading what they want to read, and then come up with completely irrelevant comments.
I'd like to explicitely exclude Mytical from this because his post makes it abundantly clear that he's understood my point.
Which is, if you go to great and devious length to play someone a devious prank that intends to provoke (strong) emotional reactions (which is, actually, where the fun comes from - if you convince someone that somewhere in some jungle a sack with rice toppled, it won't be any fun), be prepared to take a slap and a curse, especially when you waltz in with a swagger, smug about your doing, instead of offering a modest apology first for manipulating people's feelings and having a good laugh at their expense, because you deserve it.
You should know, that with a little bit of preparation and trickery you can mislead everyone to believe everything.
That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the joke, mind you - you just would all look a wee bit better if you just had a little respect for the poor sods who fell for it. Next time it may be YOU. And I'm far from sure that everyone here who's laughing now can take a prank played on them as well as they laugh now - on the contrary.
I hope that settles it.

I'm just stunned that so few people (apparently) noticed that you could still sort members by QPs.
In other words, the QPs never went away.
Certainly a fun thread to read.
The only thing I'm upset about is that yesterday I was listed as a moderator in the member list, but I couldn't access the Mod Squad.

Well I didn't really fall for it, I always took the possibility of it being a prank - but the penalty thing being part of it as well - that one I didn't expect
It was kind of funny actually to see how attached some members are of the QPs, and actually it was pretty sad how Lexxan acted, at least from my point of view. Seriously Lex, I hope some day you will realize that all these QPs mean almost nothing, and you'll remember how angry you were once on some trifle things

I started this as an hcm to Pan but why not share it.
I'm fine with the qp removal being a joke. I'm also fine with the reversal of Asheera's qp. It makes little sense for people to send mods hate mail about something that doesn't affect them.
What I don't want to get swept under the rug here is consideration of how your(general your) posting does affect others. Whether or not it was intended as a 'joke' there were legitimate grievances about posting attitude and superiority complexes. Or was Aculias' posting about HC becoming a math skills forum all part of the joke?

As someone who has participated in every HC prank, I must say that this is certainly one of my favorites (second only to the first prank in '04) because the jaded members who recognize anything the Squad does on the first is a joke kept it to themselves and even played along in some cases. It just gives me a warm tingly all over. 
But yeah, this certainly has been the most heated joke I've ever seen as well. I probably speak for most of the mods when I say that about halfway through, when people started quitting and openly fighting about this issue, I started to feel bad about the setting up certain members for such a long fall. Nobody in the Squad would have wanted people to quit, but we had to press on or else the joke was ruined. Call it faith in the members to forgive and forget. Here's to hoping that faith isn't misplaced.
If it helps, I am sorry if anyone was negatively affected by this. I know it isn't fun to consider that all the commendations you've received up until now have just gone kaput. Just take solace in the fact that the Squad would never do something so hasty, even if the issue has been building up for so long. All our pent up energy is released in the spam thread we let you guys peek at last year anyway.
Anyway, I've been logged in far too often these past few days. Time to slink back to the solace of my shadows. >_>
