Quote:
1.) Piranha, Frenzied Piranha (attacks and goes back to previous square), Black bellied piranha(no retaliation limit).
2.) Troglodytes(blind so immune to darkness), Infernal troglodytes(have stone skin or poison to attack), Murgul(Immune to status ailments and have spear instead of trident or vice-verse).
3.) Scylla, Mermaids(ranged max), Sirens(ranged w/ chance confuse/seduce).
This looks like a sea faction, and I'm sure somewhere in the past 10 pages, DW has laid out plans for an aquatic faction
Quote:
5.) Manipulator(caster/ranged), Wizard(caster/ranged), Maelstrom(caster/ranged max).
Wizard won't work we already have that as a hero class
Quote:
6.) Sea Bishop, Sea Monk(caster/ranged), Kraken.
this idea looks like Lord_Evil's 2nd post here
If you were thinking of adding to DW's idea, then add 3 more tiers. Otherwise, get ur own thread

My turn
First, all monsters require command capabilities, the higher the level, the most demanding command skills are required to control more monsters, command skills are increased by xp and specialization
ok, let's go with the towns
-Castle, full human town, no angel, no griffin, much like the H2 knight town, strong points, commerce, trade ,wealth and moral, castle produce more gold, get better deals from trade and you can build a caravan in it, castle units have better moral, ultimate unit is the Champion (calvary units),castle units are not the ultimate killing machines, but all castle units get an experience bar, and can increase their abilities with more and more battles, they all are humans, they are weak, but they can learn
-Dungeon, Like the H3's one, but with the harpy replaced by a drow unit, strong points espionage, it produce espionage points (like Civ 4 ), you can do sabotages, reveal the fog of war, locate enemy heroes, reveal castles, steal low level spells, reveal heroes skills, etc..espionage points help to locate various artifacts, artifacts are not shown in the map, only very basic ones are shown without any aid, most important artifacts are hidden in the creature's stack...so you must fight first before you know your reward, and sometimes, there is no reward ....at least if you are not dungeon
-Bestiary- Much like the old H3 fortress, similar creatures, strong points, their growth and cheap command skills for creatures until lvl 4, weak points, their gold (80% of standard quantity is produced), they all are a bunch of animals anyways, they are poor
The Bestiary has the ability to create a special dwelling, this dwelling can produce creatures from any conquered dwelling on the map, as long the creature is an animal, and is not undead, mechanic, or human, it produce it with the normal growth rate of the Bestiary, which is high, but this new unit start with less defense/attack ratings than the normal monster (65%, could be)
-Inferno; A mix of both H3 and H5's infernos, strong points, corruption, inferno heroes/towns can corrupt other towns, once conquered a town they can transform it into an Inferno town, with the aid of an altar that must be built in the original inferno town, this process takes time, gold, and resources and you must corrupt dwelling by dwelling, once the town is not under the inferno's influence, it slowly return to it original state..for free, inferno towns get as well, altars of transformation, to turn different creatures into their demon equivalent, this takes gold, and resources.
This mean that inferno heroes can hold more creatures per slot but at cost of lot of gold, also, and as was posted above there are limits of creatures you can control.
-Necropolis; Well, the H3 Necro was perfect, why to change it , strong points, necromancy, weak points they are very, very slow, only the vampire and death knight are fast, they are dead, so obviously are slow, but they are many, and with necromancy you can get a huge army of skeletons /zombies and wights for no cost, and they mostly don't require command points
I will end with a wall-text if i continue to describe all the towns
-Stronghold; like barbarians in H4, no behemont, cyclops lvl7
-Bastion- Gobling/Orc/Troll/Ogre/behemont town
-Oasis- much like the bastion in wog
-Portal- A town based on planescape creatures (githyankies, Illithid, etc)
-Sylvan- A town based on the H2 Sorceress, wood elves (black ones), unicorn, phoenix (no more dragons)
-Fortess - Somewhat similar with the Fortress of H5, but without all these dwarfs, a mountain theme town, with Stone Giants as ultimate lvl unit.
-Tower- The tower of H3

I was thinking neither evil or good. Like in HOMM3. But here they could be hired as mercenaries, or something along those lines. There should be at least 3 of these towns. But it's just a thought.

...I, personall< don't care too much what "is cool" or "was cool". I have grown ot of THAT a while I care what I like. Dragons are a) classical b)variable c) I like them ... of course there are many other nice possible highest tier creatures...but I find giants are not more creative than dragons^^

Oh they're still cool now if you don't overdo them, but unfortunately I feel they've been overdone, I mean 4 dragons at tier 7, 3 of which are traditional 'western's? Come on, I'm working on a proposal at the moment for like 8-9 towns, and only 2 of them have dragons (one 'western', one 'eastern'), it is possible to have a town without a tier 7 dragon you know.

Hi MattII, long time no see, anyway personaly I added a dragon to amlost all of my factions for two reasons
1: It gives it a sense of tradition or something like that
2: It shows that the whole world including the world of the dragons has completely been shattered into many diffrent factions.
Also could you please answer my question?
