The problem is everybody around thinks he has the best ideas, you know...not to mention technical details.

Look at Docent Picolan, he was the best leader for HOTA, but once his programmers left, he is as good as a rock sinking in deep waters, and the project almost died. Or 3.59 team who promised moon and sun, and when Slava left, nothing anymore...

if your attidude is "this is my project, i will do it myself, but if you want to help you are most welcome" than i think it might actually work for you to lead a project. in fact, you are already leading a project right now, since you cooperate with Jim Vogan

imagine the same situation but with 10 people (of which at least 5 won't keep their promises, but that doesnt matter, the other 5 will probably put some effort in it)
you wont get in the same position as docent Picolan because there will be no such thing as a "team" you work in. it will be more like "Salamandre and his companions"

Believe me, working with Jim Vogan is not a easy thing. And I think it is the last time I ask for his help, as our conceptions about gaming are opposite. I want a entertaining game, not a "physical laws" applied to Heroes.

Boys, this latest 1024x768 patch is awesome, and I would not switch back
to crap for nothing. No more scroll to read the text, now any length is fitting perfectly on the screen


I recommend it to anyone, no bugs, no problems, different exe so you can switch back anytime.

I thought this patch is "only" for playing XXL maps, not for changing the resolution of the game. Anyway - for me it works still in the standard 800x600.

The custom menu was enabled, I kept only the two ones I don't plan to change.

1) Infos (various things, daily income, planets status, change music, weekly metal prices)
2) Surface/underground
3) ZPM (Atlantis naquadah value, funny, the quest log can't be clicked if no regular quest, so I had a create a ghost quest at start game to enable the button. The post visit (!$) only worked here, !?OB does nothing)
4) Call a jumper and travel with it
5) Move
6) Send a malp and view planets
7-8 ) Unchanged (scenario properties and system options, better not touch)
9) Center view on SGA (eliminates some UN:L hero duplicating bugs)
10) Wraiths turn (End turn)

Used a yellow/light blue glow which looked not bad on blue, but I may try other options...



The !$ is very interesting, I just discovered that it allows going past the most common hardcoded commands, as jumping in or out from a boat, move view when on an object and so on. For example if you code additional movement when the hero jumps in boat (!?OB8), it is overwritten by the hardcoded "movement set to zero". So it has to be post-visit coded.

The wrong order:

!?OB8; when hero jumps in boat
!!HE-1:Wd10000; give 10k movement
[And here the hardcode overwrites it and reseted movement to zero, no matter how much you gave]

The right order:

[Hero jumps in boat]
[Game reset movement to zero]
!$OB8; post visit boat
!!HE-1:Wd10000;  **works

I do not know about your plans with this mod, but the picture of Bob doesn't copyright protected for a while? I mean (and maybe I am very wrong) to use his picture in a mod that you want to spread across the net is legal? Don't need it permission?
You know I am an artist and if I draw something similar (for example the picture you compared with Bob ) I cannot use it for public without permission (made portrait for games, for example)...
