I was wondering how world records were miles ahead of my own timings in Distance, then I saw a guy doing some crazy hardcore parkour with his car to skip some track. My jaw literally dropped. I mean, just take a look:

And then take a look at this guy's mechanical skill, effectively keeping his car afloat with only his boosters:

That's so freaking awesome.

but if you tell me that im not restricted to the course, my brain pops.  i start wanting 3d models of the environments to study, and this quickly descends into an all consuming madness.  too much freedom.  my brain is officially old.  thanks.

I'm trying to progress in Naxx10 and later Naxx25 with my guild but it's been impossible with all the disconnects and failed login attempts. We literally lost the whole weekend and that's crippling damage to our raid time. Morale is at its lowest I think. They better get some DDoS protection and some server upgrade before players cannot take the crap anymore, but given how tight their budget is already I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Following this, our guild's main tank, top boomkin and hpala left the guild on semi-friendly terms. If raiding was hard before, it just got a lot harder now. This critical damage to our composition might make previous Naxx10 progression impossible.

Naval Action

I am allergic to the steam early access tag and freaking 37 euro for an such title disgusts me to the core... but after 3 days of reasoning to myself, today I went and bought it anyway.

I regret nothing.

The open world aspect and interface is very bare bones and barely workable but the combat is fleshed out, with an ocean's depth beneath it's mechanics to master. Getting into massive 16 vs 16 ship battles is very easy as well and after 4 hours of gameplay I already have a hard earned 1 hour long victory with a close finish behind my belt to go to sleep with.

There is much work to be done with this game but I've never seen naval combat done this good before.

Slowly getting some ps2 games back with my Amazon gift cards. Got heroes quest for the dragon bone staff, Star Wars battlefront 2, and kingdom hearts.

Playing all three, kingdom hearts more than the other two. Put it on expert mode and gave up the shield, which makes defense your lowest stat gain. Holy crap the game is hard now! I always loved this game though with its awesome blend of Classic Disney movies and some of my favorite final fantasy characters!

Battlefront 2 I just had to have since the new sucks as much as h7. It's shallow, boring, and just used the title and legacy of the old games to make a profit. With nice graphics.
This old one though lets you fight through the prequels and the original series. Tons of heroes and maps and game modes.

Heroes of might and magic for ps2 aka kings bounty. Very fun game, shares sounds and music from heroes 3 which just makes it that much better. Has a sweet lizard warrior creature, but is more of an actual warrior this time carrying a halberd.

I believe it was the Iron Passage.  I am still amazed at how poorly designed the DLC was.  Enemies with nigh-unlimited poise, spell casters with unlimited stamina, etc.  Just horribly designed.

Even with the stone ring and a greatsword (technically a 'longsword') you still couldn't stagger most enemies in the dlc (iron king IIRC), it was an annoyance (the sunken king was slightly better in that regard).

Mostly annoying cause it just further consolidates the sword/shield as even more effective over other gamestyles, which takes away from the experience and what DS is about (find your own playstyle and make it work, hard when there's a glaring META).

What bothers me most is that exemplifies the absolute worst of the Dark Souls series:  If you can't make it hard, make it cheap.

Take the astrologists for example in the Iron Passage.  A simple spell caster with: unlimited stamina, unlimited spell usage, almost instantaneous spell casting, what feels like 1.5k health, who hits like a truck.  Ridiculously cheap enemy.

Even wearing a full set of +5 Havel's Armor I still die in about 3 hits on normal in the Old Iron King DLC.  What's the point of even wearing heavy armor if that is going to be the case?

Personally I find DS 2 pushed this style in the base game to; I mean early overly difficult bosses like the pursuer can be almost impossible without it(at least it was for me).

I have been playing through Dark Souls after finishing Dark Souls 2.  I find, overall, I prefer Dark Souls 2 a lot better due to the more fluid combat system.  While I will concede the bosses and for the most part locations are not as memorable as Dark Souls, I find it to generally be a much more enjoyable experience.

Plus no Blight Town, so that's a big plus.

Darkest Dungeon. One of the better Kickstarter-funded projects, with fairly addicting gameplay (even the grinding), nice atmosphere with so much Lovecraft in it that the game feels like a tribute, good music and very nice visuals, despite their simplicity. Excellent for killing time when you don't really have much of it to kill but you still don't have anything better to do between the daily routines.

Both the Xbox 360 console and PC games.

I have some 20+ console games to go through whenever I get to find the time to do so.

Civilization games, Master of Orion 1 and 2 original games from Gog.com, 4 Double Dragon games up to 2010 and, the 3 last Heroes of Might and Magic titles(5,6 and, 7).

I should start another Civilization game anytime soon. Got bored out of my many Street-Fighter type games.

Master of Orion 2 was so good once you got the stellar converter.  Those pesky alien adversaries really changed their tune when you turned their planets into asteroid belts.

Started to play Far Cry Primal. Having a blast.

First and foremost, I'll say that I didn't play both Far Cry 3 & 4, so the "nothing more then an expansion pack/mod/reskin" argument does not work on me, it's a completely new expierience in my case. Secondly, it's to early to say sth about the story, but calling it underwhelming might be a bit overboard cause imo it's hard to make a Hollywood story with simple proto-humans at it's core. Let's say that people with only some primitive ways of communication and simpliest needs might not quite be Oscar material...

Whatever. Imo the games something else. There's probably nothing similiar out there. It really does feel like a survival man vs beast (and cannibal) adventure, even with crafting being quite straightforward (and some other simplifications, nevertheless UI is neat). But the atmosphere, ambient/sound and light (dat moonlight!) effects are extraordinary. And aside from some glitches and gimmicks here and there fighting without guns is enjoyable, and petting your wolf right after he ripped off a mans throat is a joy.

It's waaays till my final verdict, but I recommend checking the game out.

Sunk more into the original. Single ship combat sucks, imo. That's the mistake of GalCiv as well. Can't have a galactic empire and need a couple of years to complete a tiny ship.

Nah. Those stacks of 32.000 Alkari ships - those gave me the chills.

Single ships has just been a big turn-off for me in all space empire games.

I also liked the limitations the original MoO made for the number of different ship designs. You had to really think about taking a new design into commission (because that would often mean, scrapping an old one).
Not that MoO2 would have been a bad game. Nope. It's just that MoO really just had that special something that HoMM 2 had as well.

True for a lot of space games coming this millennium.

The real challenge is to keep micro management to a minimum and have something a Civ game hasn't.
