So does this mean that if Elves are the 4th faction, THEY ARE FURIOUS?
Making them even speedier killers?
In Clash Of Heroes, Sylvan behavior is quick-killing. Heroes6 is already influenced by this game, leading me the strongly believe Sylvan is the 4th faction as to counter Nerco behavior in the same way that Haven and Inferno do.
But Elvin says returning factions will not be as we know them.
So Academy may be the speedykillers. Perhaps they want a quick game because they are so bored by all these non-acedemic folk.
They have no time for religious zealots, destructive lunatics or wet snakes.
I see Dungeon as the speedykillers too. Like ninjas in the night. SUPRISE!

i think stronghold has the biggest chanse to appear as 4th faction, but i hope it doesnt.It bored me to death in h5. Bunch of fat and even fatter orcs.

HoMM 1 was so long time ago... And nowadays it is Very Hard to imagine Heroes without Academy (Titans, Mages, Genies, Golems...)

HoMM 1 was so long time ago... And nowadays it is Very Hard to imagine Heroes without Academy (Titans, Mages, Genies, Golems...)
Hey, it was hard for me to imagine Heroes V without Fortress, but I got through it. You'll live.
Necropolis covers the "magic" role quite nicely in the absence of Academy, in any case.

I personally would love to see Academy again, but only if it's done right.
And really, that's my main criteria for the fourth (and fifth) faction(s); I don't care what it ends up being, as long as it's handled well and doesn't look like a stupid mash-up of the same unit copy/pasted with different armor (we already have a homogenous faction with Haven).
But I think Ubisoft recognizes that that was a flaw with H5; I will be very surprised (and disappointed) if the fourth faction turns out to be just a bunch of elves/dark elves/dwarves/orcs, with nothing else to spice things up.

Subtle hints
Iīm hoping for Academy, dunno why really but it feels logical that a "race" with such impact on the overall timeline and lore of the series should be included.
Although, some hints speak otherwise...
In the official description of the hellhound (at least how it reads on the Might & Magic facebook page) there is mention of both "sabretooth tiger" and "dire wolf" as an comparison to the hellhounds size.
"Cerberi are servants of the Demon Overlord of Voracity. These two-headed fire breathing mastiffs outclass even the sabretooth tigers or dire wolves in size, speed and ferocity."
Now, these could just be neutral creatures but they wouldnīt be mentioned of they didnīt exist in the game. If they should belong to a faction they wont belong to Academy. Thats speaks more in favor of elves of even some barbarian (like cavemaninspired) faction.
The other clue is in a screenshot with Svetlana standing at a gate in the jungle saying:
"Pure is the unicorn, noble the stag, and always hungry is the wolf. I think Iīll sate the belly of this ravenous beast with its own blood. But first I need a base of operations, and I know exactly where to find it"
So...unicorns and stags, thats pretty much Sylvan all the way. Unicorns has been there from the start and stags are used in Clash of Heroes for the Sylvan faction. And her speaking of the wolfs confirms thats thatīs in the game.
Well, it could also mean nothing... exept that i am bored and tired of waiting

Sabretooth tiger fits quite well in a asianinspired faction, since tigers live in asia  and the info on the hellhound seems to imply that "sabretooth tiger" and "dire wolf" are upgraded versions of tiger and wolf...
Now, neutral creatures donīt have upgrades though...

Well, they have Sword Masters in Clash of Heroes, but didn't include them in the Haven's line-up (WHY? Black hole? Why??) that IMHO will have better look than the current Seraph/Celestial. So.. yeah I will go with it means nothing, at least for now.

I don't think the Sveltana quote is anything else than a metaphor. The wolves and the tigers thing doesn't make it sound those are actual units, but they are comparing the Cerberus to something non-demon-like to "get the picture".
The thing with hints is that it just doesn't make sense to throw around implications for Sylvan or Academy and then announce them 4 months later. If Academy is the 4th, then we've known that since the pdf's, so what was the point to hold it back till December? The Elves were hinted by one of the earliest Gamescom reviews too. I think holding back this long means they want to surprise everyone, or at least that's what it SHOULD mean...

Yep, I came to that conclusion as well, I mean we have a major character from the Unicorn Duchy (Duncan), and Stag and Wolf don't appear in the H5 Sylvan lineup...

Well, I remember some one from the VIP forum here saying that we would defintly see elves (and dragons) in H6 but of course that does not mean they have to be a playable faction though I hope and think so.
