Then you should stick around until Christmas at least...
As I said I have in mind to support this mod with campaigns. I thought that it would be kewl to make a large ultra-campaign telling a story in parts. On December 25th along with the mod you will have the opportunity to play the first chapter as well:
Each campaign will have a cliffhanger end of course. The tale will end in 4 chapters.

No but you can find them HERE.
Each version is a different mod. They do not work together (need a clean WOG to work).
The thing about this version is that it combines some of the characteristics of the former two...
As in my first mod there are some creatures that have third upgrades.
As in my second mod some creatures are interchangeable.
So in a matter, this mod is more or less the two previous ones combined, with some new ideas added.

Very good idea to make a campaign. I suggest going for 8 chapters instead of 4. The extra time to spend is worth the better interest it will have from players. A 4 chapters campaign is always frustratingly short.

When I say 4 chapters I mean 4 different campaigns. It's just that they will connect with each other and so the end of the story will be shown in the fourth campaign.

Yeah, don't get too excited though... I am not nearly as good at mapmaking as you are.
Actually I keep the maps simple... I focus on the story building rather than having surprises installed with ERM and stuff. I also keep the Wog objects to a minimum because there is no telling that the one that downloads it has the same objects installed as I do... In fact the maps are quite SoD like.
The campaigns are a bonus feature. I hope you like it, but then again If you don't...that's understandable too...
Anyway, so Salamandre what do you think about the other features?

You are providing a great work, unfortunatelly I have no time for playing new things, all my "little" free time I use on working on a campaign. But holidays are coming soon, and I will give it a try for sure

Thanks. I actually edited some old ones too (posted them in the second pack).
I have made some improvements on map object creatures and now they are stationed in the right place and have shadows too.

Dude...I love you...
Seriously thanx a lot..
I won't be playing till summer(as I have some really big exams) and thus my hype is great!
You made a really good work I believe...the fact that you made a town to be played with at least 2 tottally different tactics is really great and boosts the variety to sky...
Great, we thank a lot...

Hello! That's one more comment to show you how great is what you do...
I stopped playing Heroes long ago.Not that i don't like it..i just don't play the last years..but after reading this topic here i really wanna try playing your campaign ;-)
A mod that has lot's of diferent features may make me play it without getting bored fast(I used to play a lot!) ...All i hope is that you made a good balance.
The only game i play now is a mod also.Dota what else :-)
So it'll be harder for me to feel the balance since i'm used to Dota which is one of the most balanced mods ever.more balanced than games actually.
I can't wait for the Campaign :-)
keep up the great work man!

Yes Dota is a very interesting mod for Warcraft III (a game that I have also played a LOT in the past)...
As for the balances in this mod...well first of all I think that original Heroes wasn't balanced enough to begin with... The Good towns (Castle, Rampart and Tower) were the superpowers while the Evil and Neutral ones were quite weaker... Conflux was a complete balance-thrower as well (you could cast Armageddon all you wanted).
I DID run many tests on the balances in this mod and I think the fact that you get to choose among different creatures gives it more balance than ever. It also makes some creatures preferable to hire against one specific town.
For instance get Tower. You can either have an army of Golems and play with Armageddon. On the other hand you can have an army of Sorcerers that will enhance your magic and cast many spells of their own.
So lets compare Tower with Necropolis. Playing against Necropolis you got to go with a Golem army. Vampires and Blood Dragons will be rendered useless (since none of your army is living). Still, Golems are slow. So the player in Necropolis can choose to have Skeleton Magi and Dracolichs (having thus 3 shooting creatures) and choose the more sturdy creatures (such as Zombies and Mummies) to cope with the Golems strength.
I think that's the nicest thing about the interchangeable bit of this mod (and it will surely pay off when playing against a Human player and no A.I.). The fact that you got to choose the creatures you buy carefully, depending which creatures the opponent has chosen as well. Because, I think, It doesn't matter which town the opponent has but which combination of creatures (on both sides) meet on the battlefield.
In the first campaign I try to demonstrate the way Castle works (with the Siege engines and such).

Nice!seems that you know what you're doing.
I never played heroes on that level of thinking cause as i told you i was playing when i was a kid and i never searched for detailed stretegics...but now after competitive games on Dota i can 100% understand everything you say about combat tactics and balance :-)
hey i'm Greek too
Keep us informed on any new updates ;-)

Minor Suggestion about stronghold:
Wouldn't it be better to have the creature-animation-image of the orc bersekers and orc axe-throwers interchanged...I mean it's more logical to have the "image" of the axe-thrower being the meelee one(with the horned helmet and such)...and the "image" of the berseker being the shooter and thus wearing less armor...
I hope I am understandable...

EDIT: I get an error to do with tree sprites when I load the campaign, and are you sure you want your mod to be played without commanders and henchmen?

Yeah I was afraid of that...
In Wog the different objects anyone has varies from player to player... Go to THIS page and download and install the two first applications (they give new objects and a new more complete map editor). Then you should have the objects I do and it should work.
As for the WOG options I noted in the first page which are the obligatory options. The dat file I included has the minimum options possible. You can ADD from there.
So Commanders and Henchmen can be used. They are not obligatory options, that's all.
