So you Salamandre are saying the scripts ready are doing all authomatically and one JUST need the 3DS max.
I don't think that think that sort of laziness is enough to work fow a few thouusand bucks, so I even more think you are unintentionally force people to do Copyright Infringment ("Piracy").
But having all ready and steady definately is valid point. I believe you have fair intentions (or just I wish), but I just PLEASE to point all can be done in legally free stuff but just more steps are needed to be done by hand (files can be loaded with current blender without creating new scripts, but no task would be automated this way, but honestly not every H3 modder have bought 3DS max yet).
My concerns are mostly on phrases like "must" or "have to" while what you propose seems to be just the best way not the only one, regarding the requiremen of commercial 3DS max.

I don't like to push you more and you are mostly true but single phrase "all this can be done in free programs but would be a bit/substantially harder" in the opening post of tutorial won't hurt?

Sorry that above was a little offtopic (once the tutorial were in another thread and I were a bit too hasty).
I have actually important question about OxFEA's plugin itself : can it support more than 256 creature types?
I'm actually planing the mod and if I don't know I may ruin my work, and if answer is no, then I must substantially cut the idea (anyway at least 255 creature types including vanilla ones will be there).
I ask because I don't know if technical limit is more like 256 or 65536 and it also refers to me learning to use BADn slots together with Amethyst (which would be useless if I were able to use a few thousand slots with Amethyst).
I downloaded the plugin and read the howto but I prefer OxFEA giving the answer than doing technical tests, since tests would be cumbersome and unreliable and theorethically OxFEA know almost all about his plugin.

In the  example he posted somewhere here he included a new zcrtrait and cranim and such, which went up to like 500 creatures without breaking... so I would assume he passed 256 for a reason.

About 255+: Don't know. Sergroj said that he saw some places in code where monster id was represented as byte. I don't see any of them (there are mostly dwords), but I didn't tested 220+ monsters anytime.

About ERM errors: probably I didn't extend all ERM command limits. Maybe later I'll see about it.

About constant link: I'm planning (already three monthes, ye ) to rewrite amethyst to the ERA 2.0+ and baratorch's patcher. So, in that time - if it will be - I will think about more stable fileholder.

Once it is something so minor as newmonth event table, and it doesn't crash or break rest of game I'm definately fine (although through the rewrite it may be addressed, although not only resizing the table but also increasing integer size would be definately not easy if table is accessed by code more than a few times, I hope that fix won't break it more during testing if problem would be addressed).

I'm happy it theorethically with current stuff should support a few thousands of creatures, because limit of 256 would be serious problem in my planned mod (about 9 new creatures per town plus some neutrals would quickly fill all gaps up to 255).
This way I can leave the BADn blank, fit all the creatures planned and still plenty of place. Even I can find some place for creatures in new towns in spirit of JimV mod. Anyway there would be plenty of neutrals.

I know I probably never would fill 16k slots, but I'm technically interested about the size - you meant word(16bit) or dword (32bit)?
Also I fear I would found some bugs on 256 boundary because it was weakly tested, but once it is supposed to work I won't resist my hunger of having more than hundred new creatures ingame. If there is really some bugs there somebody needs to find it first to be fixed, heh? I'm happy it was assured I can have so many monsters. If it is dword I'm curious when there would be someone so crazy to break 65536 limit (the rare bug may be found after years, but it doesn't matter while nobody is supposed sooon to catch it at least once and in 2024 probably VCMI would be complete anyways).

This set of features is definately more than nice! I would reserve  BADn for blank entries in Stack Experience table or somewhat other that may fit my scripts instead pushing there last creatures to fit 256 limit. Really thanks OxFea, you done miracles (I hope for some miracles in my mod heh)!

How about work on saphire? (If we are able to simulate new towns via erm thanks to ERA's redirect and CA: D we would quickly need your "new hero classes" plugin - I hope plenty of new hero slots would be included).

Anyone able to modify .dll file would certainly know what kind of file it is and how to edit it, in first place. Usually people asking this question just end up with jaw dropped .

Any news about the .dll? What is the latest version (if there is a good one) and where can I find it? This is, in my opinion, the greatest ERA feature (not including the awesome easy-to-install mods).

Oxfea: I'm not sure if this is ERA related or only for your plugin, but to get the game to start you need to also add the appropriate rows to crtraits.txt and crtrait0.txt.

Maybe add this to the first page, or just right here people: ADD ROWS TO CRTRAIT0.txt and CRTRAITS.txt or the game won't start (at least in current ERA).
