I was clicking on the dwellings in H2, H3 and H4. But with 3D, that just got complicated.

Yes, that's how it was in the latest know tested version of the game.

Quote: Yes, that has already been confirmed in this thread. There will be a visual representation of what you build in the town picture. We've also got confirmation that the artwork will not be interactive, all interaction happens through the menu. And it will definitely be a WINDOW (which really is the heart of the matter). All previews (both new and old) have has the same size of the screen, so I don't see why they suddenly would make it bigger either.
Well f***, just f***, only a window any you have do everything with a menu? No thanks.

What about you start respecting other people's opinions ? Why do you even ask for other people's opinions if all you do is criticizing them when they don't agree with you ?

@DarkLord
It just means I care about other things more.
For example if you ask me what I would like to have the most, a Random map generator or town screens?
Well I would go for a RMG...

Show me a game with the most gorgeous town screens you've ever seen, intricately animated and full of life. They have a beautiful interface seamlessly integrated with the environment which makes you believe that you're there. You're really there. Show me a game with contextual terrain and unique little details for every town, the music is fabulous and touches the deepest parts of your soul. The whole scene is so perfect and transcendent, upon entering for the first time, a single tear runs down your cheek and your soul begins to weep with rapture at the beauty of what you are witnessing.
Then the game crashes because of a massive memory leak when the AI spent fifteen minutes running in small circles.
That's why I don't care.

So as long as there is no memory leaks and AI is fast you would play anything. No care about balance, creature abilities, resources, area of control, creature design, DRM, skill tree, multiplayer options and of course town screens...

The point I am trying to make is that the town screens are a superficial change and pretty inconsequential in the face of other more important things. Everything else on your list is very important indeed, along with not crashing and good AI. Town screens, not so much really. It wouldn't sway the game from good to bad or vice versa for me at all.

That's astonishing logic. Nowadays it's necessary to put aside the aesthetics so you can deliver technically adequate product. Because in Heroes' case it's always been about good town screens or good technical performance. Cheers, mate!

That's not what I'm trying to put across, but I can see how you're drawing that conclusion. I'm totally in agreement, I think the town screens are a great part of the experience and if the window gives as neutered a representation as we can assume from the information given, I'll sign the petition to make it better.
What I'm trying to put across is that the hysteria attached to this is just silly. If the town windows are as bad as all that, it's not the game-spoiling end-of-the-world tipping point that some people posting here are making it out to be. At least for me.

It's not the end of the world but some of us - most of us as far as I can see - consider it important. Thus the people in charge should take notice.

I just think that as we move forward we should expect more refined product. I can see no reason to "let it go" because its not game breaking.
We are not discussing font color or size here or main menu border or something of that un/importance.
Town screens were and are one of major points of this game. At least for me...

Yes we need full screen town graphics, an area that we can submerse ourselves in and feel the epicness and awesomeness of the town in game (nature H5 comes to mind with that huge "avatar-like" tree)

Is that the same "most of us" that voted the Rakshasa as most favorite H5 creature ?

"Most of us" are closet furries, sadly
I mean, I like minotaurs but I don't secretly wish to be one.
I can't speak for "most of us" though.
