I think you are judging it only from Haven's point of view. You can recover your losses with the various types of healing accessible to you but why don't you try playing, for example, with Inferno against a player who uses the spell and share your impressions?
Quote: Don't like them.
That's OK but other people like them and when they play against a faction which uses Retribution Aura, they suffer too much.

@Infinitus
Inferno can't have mass light shield!! buhuhuhuh *sob sob*
Actually I'm not that bothered by spell, since I don't have anything in Counterstrike, however I relies a lot weaker stacks such as Lilim and they can't stand much if their own Pit Lords retaliate under such an effect. :S
But, hmm maybe Purge is the way. Good placement and a precautionary Purge...

Does purge prevents the casting of Retribution Aura without dispelling something prior to that? In any case, even if it does, I don't think it will work against Haven - the Glories will just dispel it and the Haven player will cast it after that and go for the most heavy-handed enemy creature. One retaliation from it is enough to make the rest of the battle waste of time.

No idea what they have, i only know how to kill them
How about Puppet on unit with retribution aura ? Retribution aura will do damage to you or to him ?

Quote: How about Puppet on unit with retribution aura ? Retribution aura will do damage to you or to him ?
Controlled creatures are not being retaliated against. Moreover, the common way to use the spell is to cast it on the creature which should force the opponent to retaliate exactly when the said creature acts. So it's kind of unrealistic.

I mean you take control over opponent unit that have aura on them. Hit with this unit opponent units. What will happen ? Frenzy on unit with aura ? I mean puppet unit is yours for some time, aura is yours too ? will work for you ?

Nothing will happen, Frenzy and Puppet Master give "no retaliation" to the creature on which they are cast by default. So the controlled creature will hit something and that's all. Moreover, when Frenzy is cast, the affected creature does not even lose it's action for the turn after attacking something, so...

I think what Infinitus means is, what happens if you use puppet or frenzy on another of their units?
I can really see the effectiveness of Frenzy in such a case, though I guess it could be hard to pull of. Especially if the opponent lack good damage dealers. :/

Quote: Puppet Master give "no retaliation"
There is retaliation to puppet (but indeed not to frenzy).
Its hard to cast these on angels though (and the sanc player will have two units with retri aura on them).
Its a really though to counter spell for many factions.

Well, in this case I don't know. It seems way too difficult though - the frenzied creature attacks at random (seemingly) so it could attack whatever it likes around it, not necessarily the stack with the aura. And like I said, the spell is being cast during the turn of the creature which should force the opponent to retaliate which makes the whole exercise meaningless.
Quote: There is retaliation to puppet
There is? Maybe I haven't paid attention but I don't recall the enemy attacked stacks retaliating against the "puppeted" one.

Yuck!
Stronghold Might Vs Haven Magic is a nightmare. :S
Blinding Light + Pacification = Hell.
Magic Hero uses Petrifaction which is impossible for Might Hero to dispel, since Stronghold Might can't get the primordial spells or the Purify.
And then add some bugged resurrection to the mix, and you'll in for some awesome time.
Sitting ducks I'd like to call it...

I tried it a few times today, and the attacked stack retaliated to the puppeted one.

Stronghold might vs anything that can cast a more than one turn petrification on the cyclops before it can act is usually an instant loss. Ironically necro magic hero can be brought down pretty convincingly by stronghold (necros best bet is a 2 or 3 turn petri on the cyclops, but it might not be enough, after the petrification nerf its gonna be really hard for necro.)

Town tavern no more provide information on opponent best hero, army, income etc ... Why ? Was nice future. Sometime save lot of players time, opponent see in tavern your hero is twice better and surrender.

Yeah that was a nice feature, I hope they return that.
I also hope there will be Thieves Dens on the maps, I don't remember if they actually exist at the moment. (man I really need to play more ordinary maps. :/)

I HATED how the Tavern told you near everything about your opponents. My ideal is to have a tavern for hiring heroes only, and a Thieves Guild available in the map only to tell you basic information. And I know I'm not the only one who hated all of the tavern info in homm5.

I'm not so sure if the Necro wall is THAT powerful anymore. Atleast not against Haven.
My two Glory stacks destroyed one of his stacks and then I blocked both the Weaver and the Lich with an elemental.
I used Petrify once on the enemy and I never used Retribution Aura.
I pretty much completly neutralized his shooters with a petrified Praetorian and a shielded Vestal.
PLUS I had blinded both of his Ghosts, preventing healing. His only offense were pretty much the Lamasu and Vampire (who couldn't even attack my Glories because that would break the wall)
None of my stacks ended up dying.
edit: a weird thing is that Blood heroes get higher Might/Magic defense from skills despite that they are Tear skills :/
I also had zero problems against Stronghold.

Reputation benefits more than being might or magic/stats. Example, Firebolt is best with Magic Blood > Might Blood > Magic Tear > Might Tear. this goes for everything that is blood or tear. Want Stand your ground as good as possible? Might Tear > Magic Tear> Might Blood > Magic Blood Some skills does not have so much difference.

I know, but I have two Haven Magic heroes.
With the Blood Magic hero, I get +3 Might Defense from the Tear skill "Defender I"
But with the Tear Magic hero, I only get +1 Might Defense from it. :/
