Look, I really dont want to derail this into a feedback thread and I dont want this to be misunderstood like I'm talking about a specific argument (like the recent thing with fred) but it happens because people are people, if somebody says something like "hah, how naive of you to think people really went to the moon" and you happen to be by the keyboard, you sometimes get annoyed and you reply. Let's just leave it at that.

Tell me, doc, since when did heat + pressure + w/e else you might invoke produce clean cuts in steel that happen to look like they were made by usage of termite? Please explain me how there was MELTED steel in the debris with temperature way above kerosen levels? I'm sickened by your ignorance and the arrogance that comes with it.
Reminds me of the religion thread where you claimed to be a physicist yet you didn't know how scientists calculated the age of the earth.
Was actually considering explaining this to you but then realized there's not enough minutes in the universe to waste 5 schooling a crackpot.

He is either talking about you or corribus or me,but I dont remember telling anyone I have Phd in physics.
As for the papers. Well, after a quick search in google, I managed to find a dozen protals that lead to conspiracy theories and other BS.
So for all intents and purposes, just ignore what I said about papers. There might be some scientific journals about 911 but to be honest, I dont care about it.
I have some arguments of my own but the consequences of the attacks are more interesting to me. Whether the attack was a false flag or what not, doesnt really matter, to me at least.
As for the moon landing, at least there I can point out to hard evidence, such as a mirror they put there when they left.

Odds are, if someone quotes someone and uses the non-generalized "you", then they're talking about the person they quoted.

Well, HC introduced quotes by username. When that does not appear, it has the effect of not knowing who you quoted.
Also, his quote is quoting another guy who criticizes another guy who apparently has a Phd in physics.
So either sttvie said in a thread about religion that he has phd in physics or Gunnar is talking about corribus, who stevie mentioned of having a phd.
Chances are, this is all a dream.

I remember the distant pass, when people were quoted, but no one knew who the quoted one was and it was all confusion and devastation.
Then lo and behold, as angels sang in a miraculous chorus, with a loud bang down from the heavens descended Val the magical tyrannosaurus, he heeded his call and released us from our thrall.
Anyway, since Corribus never wrote anything, it makes little sense to me that the "you" in the statement should ever address Corribus. That'd either be "he" or "Corribus", then.
In any case, it doesn't matter ^^
Edit:

What the heckles am I doing here then??
Btw. this is an unrelated quote from an entirely different forum, and has nothing to do with the post above mine

Well, english is not probably the first language of many here.
So that "you" could be refering to a charcter he saw in a sad and emotionl movie with a phd insidde it, losing an online debate.
I guess we will never really know what gunnar meant.
In the distant and ancient past, where dragons used to fly and befreind with people, debating in in the realm of OSM with 17 and half quotes in one post was not only fun, it was magical and character building.
This post is aimed at some guy in a parallel universe.

It's pretty good.
So what does everyone here do to help out the environment a lil bit around them?
I really try to recycle but I get bored of doing it sometimes...Especially paper and bottles though. 50/50% of all papers and bottles I do recycle. Sometimes I think it's unfair that I provide free paper and plastics for other people who don't pay me anything but meh. Maybe one day in fantasyland it will transfer down to the consumer.
I try to eat local food too. Less transport costs.
How bout you guys?
edit: Oh snow, I thought this was the Earth Day thread. YOu guys are good.

Reading the whole thread, I was a little suprised the conspiracy theories were taken seriously by many even at a "what if" level. Then again, maybe they were new and hip at the time and werent refuted so many times.
It is quite simple, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and in this case, there are none, not even ordinary ones. And if there were any, it would be quite the scandal leading to many investigations instead of a few thousand lunatics mumbling on the internet. Also, as far as I know, the attacks to the twin towers were reenacted on models by countries such as China and Japan, so like most conspiracies, not to let it go, you have to expand it and include them as participants as well.
On threads main question, yes, the attacks were successful and I think their biggest "success" was to turn the conflict in the Middle-East into a culture war more than it has ever been. That is not something only the neo-con hawks would prefer, jihadist radicals also love to pose as holly warriors to their local audiance. On both sides, this functions as a tool to mask the very simple fact that it is a region that is being exploited for its resources and this is one of the main reasons (not to forget or absolve Islam) the people in general are uneducated and in poverty.

This new phase of yours is starting to bore me Ohforfsake.

about which conspiracy theories are you talking?
it seems the Ben Laden family was close to US sphere of power. well, of course, that's the kind of things that can change quickly when you find new interests, but...
it is known that several people all around the world, who apparently had no links with the terrorists knew the attack would happen and when.
