If you plan to make Heretic town Kreegan-like for the sake of plot, I strongly suggest to remake town in a more 'classic' M&M way - where Kreegans are aliens, not demons. I'd like to see buildings like Colony Zod, Baa Temple or Reactor on their townscreen, also would be nice to have Baa Priests as units so that the city is not only demons. But thats a suggestion for a distant future

Also in distant future Pixel-Art Forge would be very interesting.

It was already discussed by Kivo and me. The Devil concept will for sure be related with Kreegans, and the current Breeder unit already fits nicely as a low-level Kreeganish spawn, satisfying the look of Colony Zod. Other creatures will be most probably created in the same way as H3-ish, as non-alien various demons.

Indeed, but The SW Mod cannot have it simply for chronological reasons. Kreegans force was mostly banned from Enroth in the events of Might and Magic VI. So Hota is a more logical way to have it.
Perhaps, an additional town can be created, but not necessarily included in the 'vanilla' SW Mod.

Orzie, it is awesome that you've already discussed that idea! However I was the most curious about the buildings and whole town theme - I hope it won't be lava based, but more M&M7 Eofol-like.
Edit: About new Knight look - its great, however I think the screen could benefit from some forest behind Cathedral. It looks quite empty there now.

Yes, you are right about the background. We thought about additional mountains there instead though.
As for the overall Heretic theme, it will be definitely lava-based. First of all, Kreegans do terraforming like they actually did in H3 as well, and the Sweet Water wasteland would for sure become black in future. There should be no misunderstanding about that. It also looks best on it with its overall red-n-yellow gamma.
It will be on lava also because no castle is native to Lava terrain currently. So not only the plot-wise, but also the technical reasons are for that.
As for the buildings and overall theme, we must assume that the Breeder dwelling can be called Colony and be look-alike Colony Zod. However, you should acknowledge that in Heroes 1, 2 or 3 there is no boring lineups. Every faction, except HMM2 Knight (because it represents pure humanity), has a wide variety of creatures in its lineup, thus looking diverse and original. A town whole of Kreegans with axes, Kreegans with wings, Kreegans with scythes and others does not make sense AT ALL. That is why we have the diverse Inferno in H3. That is why, also, I oppose the Kronverk town for H3, but that's another story.
The Succession Wars Mod's Inferno castle (called Heretic faction in HMM2 tradition) will consist mainly of demons native to Enroth (imps, gogs, heck hounds, some new creatures). Only the Breeder and the Kreegan-style Devil will be in the end. Kreegans subjugated the lesser demons of Enroth and made them servants of theirs. There is already a good step towards the fans of MM lore with Kreegan Devils, and I think that will be enough.

Is there any pic of the Kreegan Devils out there or you haven't presented it yet? I'm curious to see them, and I don't recall seeing before
Heretic faction, sounds right to me

Only this concept for now.
This draft by Arys-Pole also helps, but it describes only the approximate design. No wings, more claws, and more tough constitution will be created.

Perhaps. We are busy on other things currently, Inferno is only in plans. The fire-and-teleport moving style should be saved I think.

Teleport moving style is okay, but I'm not sure if it'll fit H2 style. Maybe wings would be really better?

I can't imagine wings powerful enough to move that guy. He will be comparable to Dragons in this case, and remind about Diablo 2 demons, which is not really what we want.
As for the flames and teleport - everything will look okay if properly drawn.

It's your decision of course, but wings don't have to be big - it's a fantasy game, and it's not really that realistic fantasy:

Have you ever wanted to see the neutral castle in Heroes of Might and Magic II?
We are able to show it to you! Yet, in the shape of a castle icon.
With the recent poll results, it has been decided to switch back to classic global map castle icon style.
I also created this picture showing how the new icon would fit to HMMII.

As you were asking on DF2, yes, in VCMI you can create unlimited number of heroes classes, with their own views on map/in battle.
It will be useful for SW, if you plan to distinguish genders of heroes.

Well, we didn't plan that, because it's not H2 style, but I would be very grateful to have unique heroes for campaigns and custom scenarios. This will be fresh.
Thanks for telling me - this feature can be beneficial for VCMI mod version players in future.

This looks awesome.
Is it a remake of the Heroes 2 campaigns? I've been wanting to get the storyline, but this may be even better than playing through Heroes 2.

In future there will be H2 classic campaigns remade, a lot of old H1-H2-H3 scenarios too, and the new campaigns as well, dedicated to the storyline of Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven and perhaps further. We are going to reveal Enroth more - Antagarich is already very well known, but the Enroth theme is fresh.
