Don't think any VCMI conversion will be worth waiting though. It is a long time to go until this platform really goes playable.

That is a cheap provocation and trolling, please moderators look into it.

It is, but truth be said, both this mod and VCMI have been in development for years. As the saying goes, "when you point your finger, you got 3 more fingers pointing back at you". I suspect Macron knows this, too .

Modding capabilities, I guess. At least far easier than that of the original Heroes 3 game.

Macron is like "Pierre et le loup", he trolled so long that now when he makes sense, he still sounds like trolling.
Is normal to port any successful mod from one platform to another. But I agree with orzie, Vcmi full playable is not for this century.

As a active vcmi user, I can't see any reason to port SW into VCMI. Because mixing h2 graphic style and new h3/vcmi fractions will hurt anyone's eyes. There some h3 towns ported to VCMI and gameplay is not good. So VCMI port will add nothing to this conversion.

Wasn't Vcmi experiencing new sizes of map, like 4000x4000 and such? I remember Warmonger posted screens. Thats a solid reason to port any mod to Vcmi, if ready one day.

Looks like my memory multiplied it by 10
This was the original post, too bad the pic is gone. Still 500x500 is a large chunk to explore and fill with things.

Is Antagarich that small, or your lunch break that long?

Quote: Yes, it is.
I'm waiting for this mod since 2014. I hope you'll finish it this year. It could be a good gift for New Year.
I even beat orginal H2 campaign again and it was, as always, great experience. I watched your gameplay on vk.com and I can admit that if we compare town screens in orginal resolution (640x480) and H3 resolution (800x600), orginal definietly looks betters (but maybe that's just a sentiment). But the truth is that new Heroes 2 style game, with new castles, monsters, maps and mechanics is definietly great idea, so I hope that you'll finished it this year. I keep my fingers crossed for you.

Everything you might have been able to see on development streams is far from what is going to be in v1.0 release. Only Knight castle townscreen is more or less presentative, but still has a lot of flaws.
The Dervish faction is the only faction which is going to have a polished townscreen in v0.8 because it was made from scratch.

It's funny because I always thought this mod was being developed for VCMI due to the easy modding possibility. Of course, advising to disable all other mods if the player wanted a proper H2 experience.

I still don't see a single reason to call VCMI a modding platform since it's technically an alternative game engine, and all "mods" are its modules.
When VCMI is done, there will be no reason not to develop at least a marketable Heroes clone instead of any "mod" for it. Regardless, this is not happening in this modding/gamedev lifetime of H3SW Team for sure.

I think that the good argument for porting H3:TSW for VCMI is possibility to play on tablets and smartphones. I can imagine people who will accept weak AI, because they will want to play a mod outside of home.

Last time I checked VCMI stability on smartphones, it was utterly terrible. We are more focused on trying to make the mod work properly with ExaGear app, but there are currently some problems.
