For replacing the living skull, I got this idea of a fortune teller tent with a crystal ball. But I cant find anything proper on the net. There are already some tents in the editor, maybe something can be improvised from them?

that's actually a pretty good idea, after checking what this object does. i never did like the old graphic, anyway.

i think i have it. hold on, i'll check.
-----------
i was about to post a dl link, when i just realized that my newest graphic wasn't in the file. sal must not've included my object in the upload patch. that wasn't very nice of him.
i'll have to update it. give me a minute.
----------
ok, i don't know what sal was thinking; there was an error in the file he uploaded, it never would have worked anyway.
below is the updated link

maybe you weren't using the correct phrase to search the net with? i found plenty of usable raw material. under an hour of searching. found a whole ****-ton of other stuff to use for various things, as well.
---------------
well, it was your idea, artu. it's only fitting that you get to have it. which one do you want added to the lineup? *note: the 1st is the only one finished. the rest can be recolored/reshaded to whatever you want, within reason. i'm not going to make a kaleidoscope, or anything. *
(yes, i know that the rope on the east side of number 4 needs fixed, as well as sharpening the table and it's contents; number 2 needs the purples toned down some; and 5 and 6 need their colors muted, as well.)

I'm split between 2 and 3. Normally, I don't like purple but it seems to fit in quite well here. Nice work btw.

thanks. the purple on 2 has to get muted, in order to look right in-game. maybe flip the red and the purple(more muted purple on top, red beneath)?

Well, the thing is, purple is kind of glaring but since this is supposed to be a gypsy tent (the fortune teller reference), glaring makes sense. There's even a conventional simile in Turkish, to desctibe something with flashy colors you say it looks like a gypsy's tent.
But how many people will make that connection between glaring colors and a gypsy tent?
Edit: I like first better, btw.

Lord_Immortal said: Hey fred, may I suggest something?
There are many WoG buildings whose appearence does not correspond to their name (I.e. the Emerald Tower is a ripped pink-bricked tower from Cossacks). If you could make them more fit (i.e. make the Emerald Tower a proper Emerald Tower fit for a wizard not an ugly, ripped, pink tower).
found some resources online and did some prep work on different graphics. i don't have any clear idea in mind, just something vague(a tower made out of emerald with runes carved into it). as soon as i have something presentable, i'll post a screen or two. i may wait until i have a handful to choose from.
Lord_Immortal said: I compiled a list of some Functional WoG Objects that on my opinion require a graphical enhancement that no one-made:
*Home of the Bat: From a red Hill Fort with a huge red flying bat I think it should look like a large manor with a group of bat flying around it.
*Transylvania Tavern: On my opinion, it may look like an old tavern with red eyes glowing from the windows.
*Garrison(the chinese tower): I think there should be two variations (one horizontal and one vertical) of garrisons in chinese style with white walls and blue roofs but not the tower. (I would also like garrisons in Middle-Eastern, Mayan and Viking Architecture)
*Arcane Tower: Looks like a standard tower but not Arcane. Its def might be used for an Observatory or Cartographer or, with a telescope on its roof, as an Astrologer(predicts future months for a price) but an arcane tower needs something more "Arcane".
*Bank: Big, black, creepy, doesn't look like a bank at all.
*Palace of Dreams: I think it needs something more magical/fairytale-like. Something like the purple dragon Utopia, but without Rapunzel and more different/easier distinguishable from the Dragon Utopia.
*School of Wizardry: Something more like Hogwarts than that big, blue tower on my opinion.
*Death Chamber: Rather than just a pile of skulls it should (on my opinion) look more like a dark building/castle etc. with skulls maybe as ornaments (not much an idea just that the dwelling of the Lich King needs something darker/mightier.
*Summoning Stones, Living Skull, Junk Merchant, Hunting Lodge, Battle Academy, Forgotten Shrine: Nice concepts but they need a graphical enhancement.
Other ideas I have are: Sea Prison(there isn't one in HotA either) as well as replacers for the Mushrooms and the Messenger Banks (Palace of Martial Spirits, Citadel of Pacification, Monastery of Magicians and Library of Legends) should deserve their name not look like big mountains.
home of the bat, transylvanian tavern, bank(but still needs redone), palace of dreams(mostly done by sal), death chamber, summoning stones, and hunting lodge i've all done. they're in my objects patch. the living skull i replaced with the fortune teller's tent, which you can see above(and is also in my objects patch).
edit: my first iteration of a new emerald tower. lol, i think i'm done:
took an emerald stone graphic, played with it, then added windows, runes, and a doorway. the end result looks pretty good, imo.

As I think of it, emerald tower does not forcibly means the tower is in emerald, but that it has elements of precious emerald in. I would prefer a good looking and fancy tower, then add some emerald candy at the top, possibly rotating or animated in some way. As I see this, it is a bit too vague, not everyone will like the concept imo, looks like camouflaged tower.

My answer takes 2 seconds, you probably worked on it several hours, and I know how it feels to be criticized that way. So sorry.
I find it too ... green and cartonish? Too similar to grass decorative objects? I am not too fond of, but other opinions will surely settle in a way or another.

i'm not insulted at all, sal. i understand that we have differences in taste. it's not a problem whatsoever.
the problem with the brightness of the green is, when i subdue the green, the object tends to look more realistic than i like it to be(it stands out from other objects more, and blends less with the other game objects). i've done what i can to fix this by blending the contrasting pixels better on the stone itself. i'll try to find a better balance by tinkering further, then post back if i make an improvement.
the object didn't take me long at all, if you're wondering. i did some prep work yesterday for the stone(after finding it among many useable resources online). today i cut it out, shrunk it, and doctored the pixels here and there; getting rid of non-green colors, and fixing glaring dissimilarities in pixel or area brightness/darkness. once i was satisfied with the stone itself, i browsed among the existing wog objects for suitable windows. i tried using the balcony from the original arcane tower, but that didn't fit. then i tried the windows from the object "sf546.def"(one of yours, i think), and found that they suited nicely, after shrinking and tinkering here and there. then i enlarged one of the windows for the door/doorway, and used runes from gemstone graphics i found yesterday(cutting and fixing the pixels, then tinkering once i placed the runes on the tower).
all in all, an hour and a half of work. i still need to fix 2 areas yet(the rune at bottom left needs darkened, and the bottom of the rune at bottom right needs lightened, to better blend with the stone), but it's mostly done.
----
edit: see what i mean about how it looks too realistic with the color toned down?
i fixed the 2 bottom runes(darkened/recontrasted the left, and dropped and flipped the right), too.
now that i'm looking at it, it doesn't look too realistic. i'll give it some time to settle in before making any further changes.
