Try uploading it on a different ground.
I agree, it looks a little weird because everything is green and it hurts the eyes a bit. It might look a lot better on a different ground or camouflaged/contrasted.

Maybe you can animate it with a moving glow/reflection like the Altar of Thought so that it is more noticeable in grass background. Otherwise, I really like it.
Edit: You can try to make the animation it that together with glow/reflection looks like this then also with waves/shifting color into a color similiar to this.

that's actually not a bad idea. i may try that, and see if it looks better.

i worked on two objects recently. one wasn't a wog object, but a wolf cave from homm2. i kept the footprint base(redid the actual footprints), but replaced the rest with homm3 mountain rock. the second one is the frozen(snow-covered) grotto. having already worked on the other grotto, i used the doorway and steps from that one; fixed them so that they fit on snow, and added them to a base made out of the homm3 mountains. i figured, why attempt to add a stone building and entrance, when a grotto isn't a building(it's not a cave either, i don't think; but whatever). regardless, it made more sense to make it resemble the other grotto i worked on. results of the two objects:
edit: fixed a small visual error.

I'm trying to recolor HOMM creatures using Photoshop CS6.
I opened the .DEF files, recolored, recorded my actions in order to apply a batch file to the rest of the opened images.
However, by the time the applied effects reach the last image, the colors are all screwed up, what seems to be the problem?
I inverted my first image, selected Magic Wand Tool, then
- Image - Mode - RGB Color
- Image - Adjustments - HUE/Saturation
recolored, for some reason PS applies too many effects on the rest of the images.

I'd love to see many of there graphics in WoG for VCMI. Since it's now independent on original WoG, it should be easy to update some objects.

Colors are indexed. You must apply your color index. H3deftool help you in color section.

So I recolored all 80 BMPs from the Rust Dragon, how do I add them to my lod? I opened DefPReview and H3DefTool but I forgot how to do it :/
EDIT: OK, I discovered how to put them in-game, but there's still a pink shadow on the battlefield and a yellow outline, how do I remove these?

you specify them in the deftool. the faint pink(shadow) should be: red 255 green 150 blue 255, the dark pink(shadow) should be: red 255 green 0 blue 255, and the yellow(outline when hovering) should be red 255 green 255 blue 0. if the colors in your frames aren't exact, you'll have errors. should be an easy fix, just click on the squares next to the associated colors in the deftool.

They were already like this when I made the .DEF, they still appear in-game however.

then the colors are off. either in the deftool, or in the frames themselves. did you click inside the boxes next to the colors under "file", in the deftool?

yep. click all the check boxes on the right. they all have to be checked, when making a creature def. that's how the program decides which color does what.
so your rust dragons are now red dragons? i made mine acid dragons.

It looks like this now:
EDIT: it seems the movement and attack of my creature is all screwed up, how do you manually apply every image to the movelist?

the movement images get screwed when you rebuild a def. check the original vs the new: you'll notice that around the turn left/right frames the sets are jumped(backward, if i remember correctly). use the old def as a guide to stack the new def frames under the correct animation stack. it's stupid, but i have to do it every time i extract and then recompile a def, myself.
as for the shadow issues, did you click on the actual colored boxes next to the check box under "file"? because if the colors in your frames are different than the generic colors that the deftool accepts, you will see the colors instead of a shadow.
hcm me from this point, so we don't clutter the thread with off-topic; if you don't mind.
