Moderators Annexe
As the four moderators rise through the floor, metal foot plates lock into place. Their chairs whir and tilt so that each moderator is semi standing. Orange strobe beacons flash their warnings in the dark area. Another opening appears above and four large mechanical harnesses drop down from a powerful conveyor. Each harness latches onto a moderator, lifting them from their chairs, which retract and disappear back down through the hatchways. The hatchways close with an airtight pfft.
Lights flicker on to reveal a long clinical hallway.
With a light ratcheting sound the moderators are carried through the long corridor, stopping intermittently as hatches open and robotic arms equip the moderators with various upgrades and make adjustments/adaptions to the moderators physique.
91457 Doomforge - his left arm is unscrewed and replaced with a thermic cannon while other smaller robotic arms place a screwdriver through his right ear to make adjustments to his eyes. Then a small ocular transmitter is bolted into place over his right eye.
88548 Elvin - entire lower half is replaced with heavily reinforced plating including a flaming groin cannon and jet propulsion modifications to his feet. A flame thrower pack is locked onto his back.
91458 Omega D. - his head is surrounded by a swarm of smaller robotic arms all probing and adjusting his brain. His eyelids flicker rapidly as his brain downloads the data. A plasma accelerator replacing his right arm. While a small robotic arm combs his hair into place.
91455 Corribus - a heavy visored helmet is screwed onto his head. A single solitary horizontal beam flicks from one side of the visor to the other with a threatening deep tone. Both arms encased in chainsaw gauntlets.
The conveyor continues on. Past a room labelled 'Rejects'. As the moderators are carried past, plaintive calls and wails emanate from the room before the sounds of high pressured gas being released and then dull thudding.
They are carried on, pass another room, this time heavily reinforced and guarded by steel doors, laser beams and razor wire. The door marked 'Highly Dangerous'. The viewing monitor shows a large padded cell, its walls covered in graffiti and other noxious organic stains. Lying on the single bunk, chain-smoking and flipping the bird is William.
The conveyor continues on. Warning klaxons and strobe lighting intensify. The female computer voice announces, "Airlock engaged. Topside disembarkment in 10, 9, 8"

HC Forest.
Jaba and Gnomsey are sitting by a small stream, holding their hands in the water and watching the little fish dart past their fingers. The heady smell of myrtle is heavy in the air. "Come on Gnomes, time to get you home. Meroe will be tearing her hair out with worry by now", says Jaba tenderly. Gnomes nods and begin to stand ...........
When a mechanical humming and piston-like thunking shattered the peace. Barely 50ft away, the forest floor begins to crank open. Hot air swells up disturbing the leaves. Clumps of grass and dirt fall to the ground.
Gnomsey's eyes widen with shock. "Quick Gnomes", whispers Jaba, grabbing Gnomes by the arm, "this way, we need to hide otherwise this won't be good for us. Follow me and don't look back". Then tightening his grip on Gnomsey's arm while dragging him towards the trees, his voice lowered to emphasize its importance. "Do not look back, Gnomes. Do you understand!?". Gnomes nods, fear in his face. They run to the cover of the dark trees and head deep into the forest.
As the steel trap door finally flips open, Jaba and Gnomes disappear into the wood totally unseen.

I am loving these forest tidbits. They are reminding me of a time where Gnomes and I used to hang out around here. =(
Seems like forever ago. 
Curious to see as well what inserts such respect and perhaps fear into the courageous Jaba.

... tbh, I was expecting it to actually land on top of one of us. Because I'm a pessimist and think that Meroe is going to pull a George RR Martin on us. This works too, however.
