Thank you very much again Marzhin for this great stream.
The surprises was just what I as a long time fan had hoped for. Map editor look great along with the RMG, but the H4 campaign looks very exciting, but for me especially the fantastic interview with Jon Van Caneghem was amazing. It contained only good and exciting questions and it was a pleasure to hear the answers of the Ancient Creator himself. It was very informative and long enough get around all of the interesting topics you can ask the father of the franchise. We needed such an in-dept interview with JVC if you ask me, so now I am very happy. Thanks.

By the way, the day before we filmed the interview with JVC, I was lucky to have dinner with him and "Sir" David Mullich (director of Heroes III) and Neal "Foerdhal the Mad" Hallford (writer and designer on Isles of Terra).
This picture was taken with David's phone, and is posted here with his kind authorization
Here are some of things that I learnt during the dinner and were not in the video:
- One of the major inspirations of the Heroes gameplay was actually a board game called Titan. When you read the wikipedia page for that game, it seems so obvious: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titan_%28game%29
- The King's Bounty board game published by Task Force Games in 1991 (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/1785/kings-bounty) was actually commissioned by NWC, they just didn't think of putting their copyright anywhere on it ^^ Also, JVC felt the board game was not so good.
- Most NPC portraits in MM3-6 are based on NWC employees, family and friends.
- After World of Xeen, JVC had concluded the story he wanted to tell and that's why Geary Gravel was hired to pen Might & Magic novels that would serve as a basis for future storylines. During the development of Heroes, however, two young developers (sadly I didn't quite get their names) came to NWC with a prototype for a first person RPG engine they had been working on for almost 2 years. JVC was so impressed by their work that he decided to buy their project and turn it into MM6. As nearly all dungeons were already done, and were set in a rather "classic" fantasy setting, it was decided to set the game in the Heroes universe instead of the very Jack Vance-ish world depicted in Geary's novels.
- JVC was not a big fan of the increased RPG dimension of the Heroes series starting with The Price of Loyalty (with its RPG-like campaigns). He preferred them more focused on economy, strategy and tactics. That's why his idea for H5 was to go back to a board game feeling and have only one town per player, with a system where you need to capture and control territories -- actually pretty similar in principle to the Areas of Control of H6 and H7.
- There was never a clear bible of the lore of the old universe. They were making it up as they went, throwing ideas around and making all kinds of references to other games, TV series, books and RPGs they liked. They never did any real book-keeping (which doesn't mean some individuals such as Greg Fulton didn't keep some notes and hadn't long-term plans for their storylines).
- JVC drives a black McLaren Coupe, it's a pretty badass car
I also asked JVC to sign my copy of Might & Magic VI

Well the only thing that benefits is not to have plot holes. Being said, I guess it would be fine to have documents of previous actions, then imagine some things and put them in the game first, then write the canon down back in the book. For if it is put first in the book rather than the game, it feels like restricting creativity, which nobody wants nor intends to do.

So, in addition to twitch.tv itself, which other websites do I need to allow to run scripts on my PC, in order to watch the recording?
Checking my NoScript addon, I see the following ones listed on the twitch.tv website that want to run scripts on my PC:
firebaseio.com
google-analytics.com
googletagservices.com
justin.tv
jtvnw.net
ttvnw.net
quantserve.com
facebook.net
facebook.com
scorecardresearch.com
mxpnl.com
mixpanel.com
twitter.com
I figure that the justin.tv, jtvnw.net and ttvnw.net all belong to twitch.tv, but allowing those still doesn't run the video. I don't know the rest (like firebaseio.com or mixpanel.com), so I am not inclined to just let them have their way and some others I don't want to allow to run scripts at all (the facebook and google ones, for instance).
So, how do I get the video to play?

I'll gladly take a train wreck of a lore if it means a less restricted game.

There's room for middle ground too. I fully agree with the general sentiment though, the way Ashan is presented/handled is just duuuuuumb.

Marzhin went as far as to recreate original Mana Wells, Karts, Windmills, etc. He's also a great fan of M&M series from its beginnings. He will ensure that these campaingns are true to the original script.

Good thing you arent in charge then. To make things worse the only thing lore truly "restricts" is creature appareances and even those have an spectrum.

I agree it's a lot better in H7 compared to H6 but it's still too much.
Every factions is pretty much linked with a color, but there are some expections like with Nature and Inferno, those two are destined to be linked with green and red.
