So glad the dungeon won and I like every single line-up. Hydra champ!! Called it.
I will just sit back and relax now since I won't mind either line-up since they did a far better job with them compared to that Sylvan mess.

Still waiting on Necropolis' and Stronghold's line up...
I guess they'll reveal those after the new year... gotta leave something for later I guess.
Then we can have the classic Behemoth vs Hydras duel back! ( provided we get behemoths )

I think the 6 factions we now have for the vanilla are pretty solid:
- Haven
- Necro
- Stronghold
- Academy
- Sylvan
- Dungeon
It's like H5 vanilla with exception of Stronghold instead of Inferno...

Hello heroes
I wanted to make a new thread, but since I never wrote here, I probably canīt start a new thread. I have benn reading those forums for some time now, especially after H7 was announced .. but i didnt find any debate about this ... So, I wanted to ask what is your opinion about shooters and their range ? I played H5 a lot and after i H6 came out, I was shocked how many units with full range there was. IMO it was a bad decision to give most of the units full range. In H5, having a unit with no range penality was a huge advantage, while in H6, it was normal, and units with half range were in a big disadvantage. So what do you think ? Should H7 make shooters having range penality or not ?
(BTW, how many posts do I need before I can start a new thread ? I was reading the code of conduct, but didnīt find anything about this. I only find i can make 20 posts in a day max. So if an admin can answer on this, I would apraciate it )

In MMHO units have a maximum range. Within that range they do full damage, while out of range they cannot attack. I would like to add this as option number three

I totally agree with you, shooters must have range penalty (unless unit is close enough ofc), even with a Hero having Expert Archery (already dealing more damage). Only rare artifacts or high level spell should suppress the penalty, IMO.

Elven archers should have no range penalty becausr they are elves. Perfect marksmen and that shiz.
Marksmen should have range penalty because crossbow has a limited range, but when at closer range, they should deal double or triple of normal damage.

Yes Stormcaller, you are right, H5 did it just right with alternate upgrades. When playing h6 i felt each battle was a fight of shooters, and normal creatures didnt feel that much important to me (im speaking about normal maps now, not duels). So I am glad there is more of you having the same opinion. I really dont want H7 to be another "war of shooters" especialy with balista/warfare units. Letīs hope they dont repeat bad mistakes again. Yeah, and Storm-Giant thanks for answer, I was reading those but didnīt quite understand that paragraph. So i need to get 9 posts before making thread

If mesmerize is the same as petrify in mechanics than yes.

They will have a mesmerizing ability (hypnosis), if they had "stoning" ability aswell, that'd be op.

Maybe they make their enemies stoned using that abundance of mushrooms that were mentioned to grow in the dungeons
