The artwork for the Rakasha looks really bad. Like it's from an anime or japanese video game.

Hmmmm... some artwork is missing. Can't believe that it wasn't done yet. Also just few lines of text. A bit lackluster but I'll take what I get.
Also Rakshasa is not to my liking. I prefer HV style more.

Why are there so little pictures? Haven got a artwork for each base form and each upgrade. These guys only get 1 picture for the upgrade for 2 units?
Either way, the leg silhouettes for the Djinn are a little disheartening. I hope it's just because they wanted a realistic height, but having actual legs would be a latte sad. Otherwise, these are pretty good. Though, isn't the Rakshasa picture a black-and-white version of another artwork we saw for H6?
Also, Sar-Elam *could* have been a girl, and Djinn are related to him/her in some way? Huh. Is Sar-Elam a sort of "magic" dragon like the Magic Elementals from H3?

Sar-Elam is a mortal wizard that ascended to Godhood, which effectively started the timeline for Ashan.
It is unclear what race or gender s/he was, though many presume Sar-Elam to be Human. By ascending to Godhood, Sar-Elam created a new elemental plane, one of pure non-elemental magic. Djinn are essentialy elementals from this plane.

Supposedly the Djinn were born or created with Sar-Elams ascendance. So they probably have some link to him/her.

The colored artwork looked better than the grayscale one (for Rakshassas).
I hope they look as bad*** as they were in compendium.

True. Yet, I'll wait to see the abilities and their combat animation in order to judge...

That would be...lame. We already have dragons for each of the different fractions, so no. Maybe a spirit-dragon-thingy ?

I knew the ascendance part, but for some reason I thought that Djinn were sort of the "generic" magical spirits from all planes, or prime spirits, but weren't related to Sar-Elam. I guess they are "generic" as they lack the elemental affiliation, but I didn't know they had their own "elemental" (should it really be called that if it doesn't have an element?) spirit plane.

I think Magic Elemental can be considered how Sar-Elam looked after his apotheosis. The few artworks we have of him/her show a robed figure glowing from inside (sort of like zealots in H3).
The seventh dragon is mostly a title, although it is probale that Sar-Elam could have taken a more draconic form when he wanted.
Also the idea that he was human, comes from the fact that most of wizards are human. It is believed that he was from Shantiri empire (which could mean him/her being a elf, dwarf or a naga).

I'm pretty sure his skull in Dark Messaih was draconic looking.

I don't know. I hope so, but it might just be their form of shooting, i.e. point explosion. I really hope they are spells though.

Ok, I looked it up in the Compendium and Sar-Elam is Human.
But s/he was not from the Shantiri Empire, that had fallen at the end of the Elder Wars, several centuries before Sar-Elam's ascendance to Godhood.
The Skull of Shadows is not Sar-Elam's actual skull. It's a crystalised fragment of his/her soul, housed in a Shadowsteel container, shaped like a Dragon-skull.

Boring as always. Academy has never failed to bore the hell out of me. With the impressive core units line-up, elite line up falls totally flat.
Same old boring Djinns, which means more floating spirits. Yawn. Disciple aka remodeled magi, and and the remodeled Rakshasa. Another Yawn.
Considering Champion will be a flying magical bird, the only good thing that remains is a titan.
What an absolute boredom of a faction.

I wouldn't say so. The twitch.tv session suggested otherwise, so don't set your hopes too high and wait for the full reveal.

Solid line-up.
I still dislike how Disciples look on the battlefield, so tiny with a huge rug (why does the rug have to be that large anyways?) Academy without a Mage would feel just wrong.
Djinns are okeyish, not my favourite, but random spellcasting could be fun again.
Rakshashas are my favourites, holy have I missed dem! YAY!
