They can be pretty mean  Also very heavy, i would certainly stay away from a rolling wave of those in the battlefield.
I think having those as Swampfaction units would actually make sense in a way.. They probably have like loads of those empty cauldrons laying around in the marshes after the huge mercury harvesting they promoted during the times of H3

Exactly, because this is "mature" rework of H3 (very accurate, I must say). I like it too, but so I do nearly every single art of H7...
I'm just telling you that it's not "simple".
P.S.: and again it seems that the cornerstone of this discussion is Ashan... deal with it already, that world is gonna stay with us for a long time.

And the point of this post is... what? Enroth ofc doesn't exist in Ashan, but hey, they actually made 3 canon maps for the old universe. So yep, Enroth (as well as Xeen, iirc) exists in their canon. Not in Ashan canon ^^

Well, it is a bit more complicated than that. You see, how do you intend to keep the Ashan visuals consistency if Heroes style drastically differs from the other M&M games? Ashan is a concept as a whole, and with it goes not only story-telling and lore, but also the atmosphere and all that comes with it. I think most will agree that Ashanian designs are overly decorated, and if the Lich has an ugly spider on its back, you know where it’s coming from. What I am trying to say since forever is, Ashan is what hinders the original feel, and no wonder true dedicated lore fans like Verriker (who may be the only one here knowing both universes with such chirurgical precision, Lizard Warrior's not far behind) will point out maybe it is a bit silly Dungeon is all of a sudden ruled by Dark Elves or Grim Rider is in reality a Vampire.
Fixing visuals alone won’t do enough, and changing Ashan so much would not make it Ashan anymore.

There is nothing silly about Dark Elves ruling the Dungeon. A well known fantasy race.

Ummm didn't they say they will try so there will be less focus on turtling with H7? ... yes that's what they said. This is the purpose of flanking afterall. So you need to open up and move to max your damage. They will also do more area of effect stuff, so you will need to spread out more.
I do hope it's not just empty promises fro Ubi tho. But for now information is scarce. So at least there's some conmfort, in notion they know of this issue and will try to adress it.

That last post was eye opener for me. I finally can understand your grudge with Ashan.
I personally don't have problems with visuals UBI promotes and I pay absolutely no attention to lore, so for me Ashan has no impact on the "feel" of the game. That's why I had trouble understanding your point of view.
What has impact is gameplay and that's why I had problems with HIV and HVI and only with those.
Ashan is here to stay. I think its better for us to concentrate on things we can change and make gameplay better. Concentrate on the good stuff if you can.

I have similar mentality. Even tho I play these games since... well since the first one. And I agree, that Galaad explains his point of view quite good, as I also didn't get it before. And I think it's because of the fact that I also don't pay much atention to lore.
I can certainly see now, why people that were invested in old lore could get upset, but new people, or people who don't pay atention to lore not so much.
P.S.: I do not however have problems with HIV. If I did, I would probably go to hospital and report last girl from red district to authorities

Dark Elves are silly in general, so anything run by Dark Elves is going to be silly.
