Are you denying that changing world changes setting? It's a pretty obvious statement, the second part is a consequence, not an objective statement.

just not sure what he meant. either way, it's less about the game than just something that happened.

Sorry then, I thought you were saying that was an idiotic statement, apologies.

One of the people responsible for building this new Might & Magic is brand director Erwan Le Breton. He’s a veteran: having worked as a producer on the last four Might & Magic games. HIs work on Heroes VI began with a team brainstorm: what would the perfect Might and Magic game include? Their conclusions: more levels of strategy, an RPG reputation system like the one in Bioware’s games, they wanted to have some of the persistent elements they were seeing in MMOs, like an always connected community of adventurers.

Players hated it.

I think Ubi got a bit mixed up in their heads with this one. Too much Brain storming could cause brain damage LOL

- more levels of strategy ... good. Except. I don't see it. H6 had LESS levels of strategy than H5.

- RPG reputation like in Bioware games ... what you mean blood and tears? I cried Bloody tears (pros to those who get this one), everytime I hear this comparison. Realy. You THINK blood and tears mechanic is ANYTHING CLOSE to Mass Effect or Dragon Age??!! Keep dreaming Ubi. After you wake up with your head in the toilet start over, and dreem more realisticaly ... like atleast IMPROVING CAMPAIGN one tiny bit. Atleast as much that I will consider it worth playing. HoMM campaign sucks compared to Bioware storytelling ... from H1-H6. I don't pay atention to it, and no HoMM title has convinced me.

- Persistent elements of MMO's ... you mean FREE MMO's ... RIGHT? Microtransactions (dlc) and ALLWAYS ONLINE are acceptable in a FREE MMO... not for a game that costs 60$ +

Ubisoft HAS GOT a free HoMM based games ... you want me to review them? Ok ... compared to other free games like LoL, and PoE or even Hearthstone ... Or maybe some MMO like ... Tera online? let's see .... they would score ... 2/10!! PURE GREED! with FEW redeeming qualities.

H7 should focus on a thing that STRATEGY GAME is best at ... you can guess? ... STRATEGY! I can live without RPG like Bioware or always online DRM's. It's the reason why this is strategy game, and Tera is MMO, and Mass Effect is story driven RPG.

Personaly, I CARE ONLY ABOUT strategy part of game. SCREW STORY. If H7 will bring good quality LAN/hotseat/online gameplay, I will buy it and praise it for this part of the game. I won't touch the campaign button or the story.

Again. UBI. Players didn't hate your ATTEMPT, as pitifull as it was, They hated your failure.

Zombi_Wizzard out. I shall only lurk now. See you at release.

Objectively speaking, seven schools of magic are harder to balance than four.

The only point I would disagree on. Balance is not the question of categories you divide into, but that of all spells, if you understand me. It is easier to Balance 28 spells, then 72 (random numbers chosen). And even if the number of schools might be an issue, you can't say, that there are few spells in the game, and their total number is the balance problem, not the number of schools (in this field).

To elaborate on this stream of thoughts
Let us say we have 72 spells divided into 4 levels

Lvl 1 has 24 spells
Lvl 2 and 3 has 16 each
Lvl 4 has 8

To get a perfect balance each spell must be an effective valid option when compared to other spells of the same level. Since the distribution is random, such a balance is crucial for the enjoyment of the game, otherwize the player might feel mistreated by the game
It is not as important if the spells get later divided into 2-4 or 8 categories, since this only give requirements on their use, but for a spell to be used, it first has to be USEFUL.

Actually, that is a lie. The game would probably sell better if they would make H3 and H5 with better graphics, new factions once in a while and new lineups, because that is what gamers want. Don't try to deny it. What games are the ones selling the best? The games that only bring a little new every game as well as better graphics, FIFA, Mario and CoD for example. watch this video, the whole.

You can't compare FIFA, Mario or CoD to Heroes. They are huge brands with a longlasting history and wider potential fanbases. For Heroes its much smaler. The decline started already after H4. Ubi have tried branching, CoH and DoC, both fairly succesfull and innovative from a brand perspective. The "conservative" fanbase is not enough to sustain heroes games in the long run.

I don't think Heroes needs so much innovation. Make it like the old games and correct their flaws. It's enough if it's made good.
(And I'm not talking about CoD and AC style minor changes, which add nothing extra. )

Look at Diablo and Diablo2, or Heroes 1 and Heroes 2 for that matter, these are the changes we need for heroes. That is why Diablo 3 sucked ass, because it wasn't true to its roots, it was changed too much to be called Diablo, imo.

Every game franchise needs a core gameplay which shouldn't be poked at, only if it becomes boring.(Like CoD and AC,  they need major changes to be interesting again for me)

Actually, I can compare them, and I have done so. Sure, it's not as huge as those games, but it has a sizeable and healthy fanbase if you compare it to other RTS games. And what games in the series have sold the best do you think? What games are the most appreciated amongst both new and old fans? The games that have kept to the classic elemnts and not invented to much. Look at the Total War franchise. I have played literally every game in the series and I think it has sold pretty well since it has just gotten better graphics and bigger games, only inventing a few new mechanics each game. Did you even watch the video? Did you understand what I meant? I'm not saying make it like CoD and give literally nothing new in each game, but keep the core game, create an interesting campaign, stay true to the roots, fix what is bad and maybe add a little new, but not too much, and beter graphics as well as new lineups and expanded factions.

I wouldn't have too much problems with H7 if Ubi didn't make them.

It is obvious that pre-order to play beta is just a cover for their own greed. As well as other things.

Besides, what gaming company have you heard of that start doing these things, just to waste money and some people's time?

Oversight on devs' part (since they can't disobey the ones that hired them in the first place), but Ubi never deserved to bash games like this. They ought to do the same with H5: not to get their greedy fingers in it.

H6, as we all know, had a lot of bad-to-worse things. Things like Sanctuary, bosses, and weapons that gain power were actually nice things and were appraised (sometimes). It proves they can, but they don't want to do it. For I also remember the sentences how they wanted to release H6 months before the release date.

Instead, they care about things that are secondary to us, fans: graphics or those silly animations. It is not that important; at best, it should be done when all major points of the game have been finished and done to the core.

And their word about "how they don't have a vision and don't want to be forced to make games". Yeah, well, same thing happened to NWC. Guess we'll see what will happen just a year after H7 is released.

If they can't take a hint the features suck, by the opinion of the majority (and not minority), I don't see how they will produce a good game. As most of us know, we did write constructive comments, at first. But, after the votes were finished, they simply started to be deaf and blind about the site, only at times when more than 80% of comments were yelling, outrage and spam.

Perhaps this is not a place to be writing these comments about rage towards Ubi. But our point still stands: we do not see H7 as a good game. Better than H6, yes, but should H6 be something as a comparison? It can hardly be called as a Heroes game, it makes H4 like a masterpiece, which is better than H7, as far as I see.

If Ubi *truly* cared, they would start visiting this site more often, not just Celestial Havens for feedback.
